Doesn't that somewhat contradict the idea that alcohol is a reflection of our self control though? A test maybe, but surely if the extent of your self control changes when you drink, then your self control whilst drunk is not a true, or at least total, reflection of your self control.
I do believe that alcohol has inherent effects that lower self control regardless of your sober personality, so I think perhaps a better indication of self control would be whether or not one continues to drink, after realising that the disinhibitory effects of alcohol are causing them negative consequences.
