I am saying i am prescribed benzos and i am allowed to drive around i do not drink alcohol with them. I would think that would not be allowed and it is.... and i would hope it would be illegal to smoke pot or be high prior to drive a car if it became legal. But all i really should have SAID IS it wouldnt be FAIR if pot became legal.. If you legalize 1 drug you better legalize most of the rest.... or at least the drugs that grow naturally from the ground like opiates, pot, shrooms, coke.
Is it illegal to drive if your on mmt? like i am because i drive myself home from the clinic and sometimes other places and i drive just fine and its full of opiates.

Ummm What are you talking about? Opiates are legal. You can get them at a store. It's called a pharmacy.......

Many drugs that would become legal have a very slim safety margin of use, and there are always dumbfucks getting into trouble (aka: teens dieing of alcohol poisoning).

Cigarettes are legal, and you would need to smoke A LOT of cigarettes to OD.

I'd say that anything with a relatively high safety margin of use should be legalized. Marijuana, LSD, Magic Mushrooms, Mescaline. If the Psychedellics were controlled by the government, they could put restrictors on the substances, much like they do with Hydrocodone and perscription pills now.

I'm not saying thats a necessarily good thing, but it would widen the safety margin for psycedellics (which tend to be safe physically, but we all know horror stories of a bad trip). They should put a certain ug, as in the case of LSD, and fill it with acetaminophen or some other filler, which would prevent people from getting royally fucked who didn't know any better (Did YOU ever puke in your first years of drinking?). People who are resourceful enough will, undoubtably circumvent the filler, but the majority of the populous would have some sort of limiter from just fucking their mind up.

Weed and all hallucinogens should be legal. I believe that if heroin, for example, was legal, it would cause too many problems. It would be extremely cheap and pure, and would lead to people doing more of it because they can afford more of it, and don't have to go through shady dealers or bad parts of town. Because it is so addictive, this would lead to more abuse and dependence. This is a more humanistic approach, versus the freedom approach (which is valid as well). I know many people don't agree with my opinions on the issue of legalizing all drugs, but I won't argue about it here, heh. I've already done a lot of that in other threads. I don't feel that certain groups could handle themselves if cocaine, heroin, or meth were as cheap as alcohol, which could happen because the many vendors would be competing on the legal market. Hard drugs have historically become big problems to the population when they became easily attainable and cheap. Please don't flame me for my opinions, I swear I will be pissed if someone calls me a dipshit (or something like that) one more time for saying that all drugs should not be legalized. I am not offending anyone who says that all drugs should be legal.

Weed should be legal because the benifits to society would far outweigh the costs. Psychedelics don't cause that much harm to begin with IMO, so they should be legal. The government feels it would have a tough time with the transition to legality with these drugs, though. Fuckin bullshit government, man.

Nobody's gonna call you a 'dipshit' because of your opinion. Everyone has a right to their own opinion & a drug forum would/should be the most open-minded of any.
You wouldn't believe it...I voiced my opinion on the COPS TV Show forum [because they called drug users, 'losers', & I had to defend] & am permanently banned. I still get e-mail notifications of responses, but the link re-directs me to FOX TV in general.
Can you believe that shit? I get black-balled for posting my opinion. :!

All drugs should be legal on the basis of personal freedom, not the harm they cause. If a drug were to be invented that somehow gave the user a 70% chance of death, and people wanted to use it, it should be legal. No government should have the authority to tell any human of the age of rational thinking what they can and can not put into their bodies.

Cannabis has the highest chance of being legalized at present though. MDMA looks like it may have a shot to be used for medicinal reasons soon which is always a good sign.

Oh believe me, I have been many times here, whether arguing about drugs or other topics. I'm all about debating things without insulting one another. And yes, that's horse shit about your story!

I agree with you on ALL drugs should be legalized. I used to think your above statement was very true...back in 1974, when different States started decriminalizing. I was living in Denver then & 'under 1 oz = $25 citation'. I knew we'd have legal weed by 1980. 8)
Well, it's 28 yrs later & I still be waiting. :(

ALL drugs should be legalized, plain and simple. the main problems that stem from drugs like heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine is the prohibition, lifestyle, and stigma of the said drugs. they are not quite as bad as ppl think, especially when comparing them to a drug like alcohol which is worse but legal. if ppl can choose to abuse alcohol and become alcoholics and damage their body with that crap, why can't they choose to abuse addictive drugs and be, for example, heroin, meth, or cocaine addicts? if they were legal, nearly ALL of the problems associated with these drugs would be gone.

The only drug from that list I want legalized is cannabis.

I don't want the pilot of my airplane tripping face on acid or the cook at Mcdonalds all shermed out.

I would legalize everything except for opiates, methamphetamine, and cocaine. There are others that could be worse but I can't think of them. Prescription abuse should also remain illegal. I don't think possession of opiates, meth, or coke should show up on records though and should result in rehab instead of jail since jail has little to no affect in decreasing drug use. Again, this is just a rough cut but I think that drugs with extremely high addictive potential should remain illegal because all too often that leads to the destruction of not only the addict but also hurts society.

I feel like the oldest person here..There are drugs here that I have never heard of. I grew up in the 1970's. I would legalize all drugs. Remember that before the Harrison Act there were no illegal drugs. The Harrison Act turned addicts into criminals. I think all drugs should be decrimianlized (for people over 18 years old) No Harrison Act= less criminals

I support total legalization also..

I don't think someone who hasn't used is going to run out and start using something.. just because it's legal!

Actually, that's what keeps a lot of my friends from doing drugs. Law troubles, affecting job opportunities etc. True, the younger crowd might be more drawn to drugs because of the whole "I want to rebel" factor. From my experience, more people would do drugs if they were legal, which I do not support because I think it would cause society more harm than good.

NONE....absolutely none!!!! I used to want all drugs to be legal, but then after freaking going on "The Dark Side" thread and hearing all the people's stories about how they fucked up their lives, it would probably do more harm than good. It sounds cool in theory for the people like me who can handle their shit, but this is only 10% of the population. The other 90% fucking suck at using drugs and let it take over every aspect of their God damn lives. Go check it out if you haven't been there. It's kind of sad, but some people just can't handle it like others

I'm part of that 90%, grudgingly so. I could never lead a responsible life as a user. Probably because I use for all the wrong reasons. Yah, if everyone was a 'smart' drug user, it would be no problem; but we all know that's a crock.

I would legalize weed and this is about it.

This has nothing to do with the thread, but the guy I'm quoting is already banned after 10 posts, damn I don't think I have ever seen anyone banned so fast.
