where do you go to university/TAFE, and what do you do?

I'm doing a double degree : BA/BVA or in human language, a bachelor of Arts/B. visual arts.

It's really good. I knew at the end of last year i wanted to do some kind of visual art, but i had NO idea what to specialise in. In my visual arts course, 1st year, i give everything a bit of a try (painting, sculpture, photomedia, metals and jewellery, tapestry, theres nine disiplines to choose), and theni don't need to specialise til 3rd year and will have had a better idea as to what i want to do.

Until 3rd year i can only do one arts subject, i wanted to do german, but found myself in "media and communications'' after german clashed with my "history of pre industrial art and design" classes.

I'm at monash caulfield.

Started at Monash doing combined Computer Science/Electrical Engineering, got sick of the dull campus + long travel time so transferred to Melbourne Uni after the end of first year.

In third year now, loving it, but a 5+ year degree is too long...every year I swear my pool of ideas shrinks - you would think the extra knowledge would increase it!

Deferred until start of '06

Swinburne Uni, Hawthorn - Bach of Social Science (Psych)

Have been a Monash Clayton student (MSA Welfare Officer yah!) and also Deakin Burwood doing shitty courses that bored me lots

:)

8 weeks or something fucking tempting left of my little baby.....bachelor of business (pr and marketing) and bachelor of journalism!

after 5 years, i'm beginning to experience trauma and a kneejerk reaction to hit my head against brick walls with each assessment piece....but there's not long to go now!!!!!! :)

and after i finish i formally request everyone to call me mary poppins b bus (public relations) bj

;)

i've got a bj

:p

I was studying at the university of Newcastle.. then i worked thewni got a job there and in 21 hours worth of work time my contract will expire and i'll no longer be there. [goes into long drawn out rant about how it's not as good as it used to be when _I_ was a student etc.... ;)]

Bachelor of commerce majoring in marketing and finance at University of Melbourne. Originally it was combined with a B.Property&Construction but pulled out since I found it way too dry (who cares about bricks and concrete!!).

Special interests include advertising and entrepreneurism.

Looking to do a Masters next year probably in publishing/marketing at Monash. If I was asked only a year ago I would've said something stupid like corporate finance or banking but am proud to say I no longer refuse to push myself into panic attacks and constant stress and am looking forward to a quiet, easy life up in QLD doing what I love and pursuing my two hobbies: reading & writing. :)

In the future I would like to do a part-time degree in viticulture whilst working in said areas.

Haha nice bump!

Neuroscience at UWA. Doing either pharmacology of biotechnology as a second major. Guess where the influence came from...

I'm at RMIT Brunswick campus doing Cert III Graphics Pre-Press (Print Design). Only there three times a year for two week blocks. On the job the rest of the time. School is fun - such a bludge and I can actually talk to other young people in my industry :)

EDIT: I'm 3rd year now. Last one! Then I'll have completed my apprenticeship.

Wow this thread is old school, its probably got mould on it

If possible and he wouldn't mind sharing, I'd like a follow up from Hoptis on this post from 29/5/2003

I'm finishing the very last subject of my Bachelor of Multimedia, majoring in Software Development. I'm one of those unfortunate people who started doing something and half-way through found out they hated it. I know now computers aren't what I want to do with my life and I'm pretty sick of them, but it's all a bit too late.

The truth is though, the way I figure it is, there are no guarantees in life and everything you know can change in an instant so I don't see it as my own fault, just a change in fortunes that happened to change my priorities and thus my interests in life.

My first passion is writing, but I'd be happy to change into a career where I got to deal with people. I like people. I like writing too. I write good. =D

Has anything changed?

My university is surrounded by a large percentage pf gum trees. I think. But the building is a bit old and rustical. And not in a cool 60s way.
