Whats the first symptom YOU personally have that lets you know youre starting to W/D?

Feeling that something is "off" and that I am constantly either too hot or too cold. Then comes the exhaustion and once the anxiety sets in you know you're fucked because after that comes the PAIN!

1.Excessive heat/cold
2.Cravings
3.sweating, stomach ache, diharrea
4. Dilated pupils, horrible leg pain and spasms

so to answer your question, the nasty skin feelings,hypersensitivity/ temperature problems

1. Sweating and runny nose
2. Inability to thermo-regulate.
3. Runny everything
4. Hell arrives.

Hoping a quick sub taper makes this easier.

does anyone get, idk how to describe it, restless stomach muscles? like i just feel like my abs are crawling and ugh it makes me do weird shakes and shit. i also start getting REALLY fucking paranoid, and if i watch the news too long/spend too much time on the internet i go completely into a psychosis. hallucinations and all. fuckin bloooooows

Pain first and foremost, followed by yawns, the shits, hot/cold, elevated heart rate/BP, fever, panic attacks, insomnia, and RLS in that order usually.

I feel ya, cigs smell so bad when your dopesick. The first symptom for me is usually calf cramps, followed by runny nose/watery eyes.
Everything smells bad when you are WD'ING especially your own sweaty miserable body.

The first thing that happens is fluorescent lights fuck me up.. Which can be a problem given my opiate of choice is obtained from pharmacies where I really need to not look like an addict.

opiates: the shits (esp if its a short half life) unable to bear bright lights and muscle cramps come soon after
anxiolytic benzos: extreme anxiety (obviously) and panic attacks which in my case develop into paranoia or schizophrenic like symptoms
hypnotic benzos: insomnia (doh)
gbl: extreme muscle cramps and paranoia/anxiety
alcohol: anxiety and panic attacks
paroxetine: a sort of sleep paralysis 100 times worse than i had ever experienced before

For me its the fear and that starts as soon as the pills are gone. After that yeah the temperature thing and then the rest.
Lets not forget what a potent motivator psychology is. It can manifest physical symptoms as well.
How many of us can say that fear, while not an obvious physical symptom, is not our first symptom of withdrawal?

You are so correct about the psychology of it. And mine will actually start BEFORE I run out. When I look in that bottle and realize I only have enough for one more dose of oxy and no way to get more.

But isn't it funny that when you know for sure it is about to be in your hand you start feeling a little better!

Mine starts with anxiety because I know what's coming. Then that extreme tiredness and just in general not feeling well with no energy at all. I then begin to have the watery eyes and nose and yawning. Right around that same time or shortly after I start getting those hot/cold chills and sweating. When the real fun begins is when I start getting that uncontrollable urge to move my legs and can't be still for more than about 3 seconds at a time (this is the worst for me). Then diarrhea and vomiting and then if it goes on long enough I will get horrible severe stomach cramps. I hurt all over most everyday anyways when I'm not on enough meds to control pain so I guess I never notice a huge increase in pain.

I am super surprised about the masturbation thing. I had no idea! I'm definitely not horny but I just always thought that it had something to do with maybe when I had orgasm it released chems and hormones that kind of replaced what I were missing by not being on opiates/opioids suddenly and that it helped relieve some of my symptoms for a very short time (like for a few minutes my legs would relax and I could actually be still for 5 minutes and have a little bit of relief).

Here you smartass know it all docs....take that and add it to your list of withdrawal symptoms! Do a research project on THAT!

Goose bumps and cold flashes plus my bowels releasing and dropping like a three pound opeY dump.

Yeah, light in general fucks me up. My eyes become so sensitive that I have to wear sunglasses not to be in pain even if it's overcast out.

I don't know if anyone else gets this but colors get slightly brighter. Everything gets slightly pink and yellow. Also I yawn and I start feeling guilty...I'm usually shameless.

I feel like screaming at the top of my lungs. Lifting weights helps in the early stages, it can help to sleep through the worst.

Fist symptom for me is lack of motivation and energy. I work construction so I need a kind of get up and go attitude. When the aches from my knees to my ankles start I'm no longer able to work. I once was clean for 60+ days and my legs still ached all the time I just said Fuck it

First I get freezing cold even though I'm sweating. Then the sniffles and for some reason I have to pee like every 5 minutes. One time I was going to pick up while I was kicking & I had to pull over like 4 times just to pee. After that is the stretching thing. I probably look like I'm having a seizure the way I keep squirming around. After that I really can't put it into words because the few times I went that long into w/d's I can barely even remember. It's just a blur of awfulness.
