Whats the first symptom YOU personally have that lets you know youre starting to W/D?

Back when I was a heavy user, I'd know w/d fun was on the horizon when I'd get this odd, "hollow", pins and needles feeling in my knees. My legs would feel like they were made of lead, and walking felt like I was dragging a bag of rocks attached to each leg.

Then, of course, the bowels would spring back to life, the harbinger which I would refer to as "the winds of change." =D :p I'd have to pop lope so that I could get through the day, especially if I happened to be at work.

Interestingly, it was never all that bad if I new for sure I'd be picking up after work or having some treats delivered to me there. In those instances, I would be almost giddy, with a frantic nervous energy that made the witty quips come one after another. If not, I'd become very quiet. And, all I'd be able to think about was how and when I was going to obtain.

^ughhh the sore irritated skin!! Totally forgot that one. My skin gets hyper sensitive and even sheets rubbing against it feel oddly painful.

Hello all....1st post here but DEFINITELY a VET when it comes to this topic....and from my experiences, the early symptoms have changed when it was heavy O.C. use (the real, good old oxys) now into sniffing dope....
The WDs were actually worse on the original OC's and it started with the YAWNS and runny eyes then sneezing.....then into lower back pain where it felt my back was rotting off!
But, with the dope its not as bad to start (and I cop from Camden, NJ so its as potent as you'll find)...I get hot flashes, then yawns.....no lower back pain, tho....
All in all the yawning and runny eyes usually are my trigger of what's coming.....and when all else fails, popping @4-5 Immodium (loperimade) helps alot!

With methadone it was that impending doom feeling along with restless leg syndrome and total lack of energy. The worst thing was lack of sleep due to twitchy arms and legs which I couldn't control. I had to get up and walk about to stop it.
With codeine phosphate, it starts with a tickly cough, sneezes, instant cold symptoms and restless legs. After a couple of days, I get woken up with backache right across the bottom of my back. It wakes me up at silly o'clock in the morning and I can't get back to sleep because of it.

Last post mentioned twitching or spazzy feeling in limbs where you had to get up n walk around.....THAT WAS EXACTLY MOST ANNOYING ISSUE RECENTLY!
I felt like lightning bolts of electricity were shooting down n out of my feet n hands....and the only relief was to stand up n walk around.....
Body felt like I drank 8 Red Bulls and 5 lines of coke there was so much restlessness in hands n feet, yet had NO energy at all....
That feeling n lack of sleep always main relapse reason

From etizolam a headache and anesthetic feeling through my body. Very bizarre and horny dreams. Anxiety which eventually develops into terror if I don't dose.

Deep in my PPT addiction, I would get this weird 'empty' feeling in my head (hard to describe), then yawning and sneezing. Then the shits and all the rest. Ooh and very sensitive to smells.

One thing I havent seen posted yet.

Normally restlessness in my feet/legs and fingers is a good indication for me, as well as running noses and sneezing, been a long time for me to remember though.

The one thing I havent seen posted, or may have just missed, was the since that time was starting to stand still. Minutes now became hours. A simple 5 minute stretch would seem like 30-45. You start to break time into 15 or 30 minute clips, especially if you are counting down the time until the pharmacy opens or until you re up. How many of you have took a random ride in your car destination unknown simply to try and speed up time or regulate the temperature better. Randomly switching from AC to Heat. AC to heat ..... Is it 9am yet? Dang, its only 6:30. Why am I up driving around at 630 with the heat on? Its August. FML, 9 oclock get here, get here. Hello Mr, Pharmacist, I'm here to refill my oxys. Pharmacist inner thoughts: "Dang, he looks tore up from the floor up, let me give him some trouble." Yes sir, looks like you are a day early on that script. Sorry. Cya tomorrow. Thats only 24 hours. Yeah, only 24 hours. Might as well be 24 days.

This thread is depressing, I go through this shit all the time.

First my nose starts flowing like Niagara Falls then comes the insane blow hole shits. Thank god for Immodium.

If I could pick one symptom to get rid of I would lose the depression/memory issues. Work is a bitch when I run out. Fuck all kinds of shit up.

Sneezing, uncontrollable yawning, and a strange but not-so-bad-yet- skin crawling/oily feeling (which I find the most distracting). Temperature comes right after those.

I know it's old, but awesome thread. I've posted this question before on a different board and it was really interesting to see the different variations in people's first onset symptom that has your body telling you "you better get some opiates in you soon or certain misery is right around the corner".

For myself, the first symptom is a noticeable change in the way my body perceives temperatures. I start to feel cold in environments that I shouldn't and the intense goosebumps (pilorection?) start. Hot/cold fluctuations are the worst when attempting to get some sleep.

Runny nose, yawning sometimes, and feeling sooooo fucking cold are usually my first signs. The cold especially sucks.
Also often my legs start aching, those are the first symptoms.

Usually following this I feel a general desire to say fuck that and take more drugs.

That kinda cold burn and sweats is generally the first symptom i get and also one of the more annoying. Stomach cramps, photosensitive, runny nose, nausea, etc all comes after that. At that point i find it best to grab more opiates or take a fuckload of meds to relieve the wd symptoms or bring them to a bearable level.

The yawns, snot, andteary eyes is what I first notice, then either the pain or the relief comes next.
