Hmm, basically (on a general scale)
Very early 80s - pop (madonna, elton john, blah blah)
86 - Found metal. \m/ Played in metal bands, pub scene for many years, so that includes punk and hated all things electronic due to peers.
early 90s, started to realise I liked ALL music pretty much.(whilke still going to every metal gig possible) Most things I listened to, I could finmd something worth liking in it except a couple bands/songs I LOATHE TO DEATH (down to size SUCK!). Friends bagged me for liking stuff non-metal. Oh well shit happens. Also attended my first bush doof in something like 93. Well, outdoor music venue in the bush. *I've noticed the attitude is like EXACTLY the same as it was 10 years ago for people attending music events in the bush as to these days. ROCK ON!*
Didn't really find my love for 'real' eletronica (I came from Geelong, it was basically unheard of in my circles) until around 2000. Finally discovered techno *my main love along with psytrance* middle of 2001 when I walked into Cage nightclub in Melbourne. Quickly lapped up everything I could to do with tech.
Nowdays, my average listening varies from about 40% psy, 20% tech and a mash of metal (death metal mainly (napalm death, nile, hemdale, UNDINISM + early metallica for memory lane trips), jazz, funk, soul (james brown is GOD), classical , sex pistols, and cheesey dripping 80s pop for fun. And everything else in between at times.
