What was your pre-rave "scene" association?

Bong-smoking hip-hop-listening bourbon-drinking footy-watchin (not playin) Iwas the first in my group to listen to 'that techno crap' but now everyone loves it! "shakes head in dismay":\

Hmm... I was a book-reading, computer-game playing, Star-Trek watching, X-Files obsessed, Counter-strike loving, porn-downloading, no-life, no-friends, anti-social computer nerd.

I got into the gay scene first clubbing/dance parties, then went to a few raves, enjoyed it but now I'm back to mainly clubbing on weekends with the occasional rave. Being cool and popular is still a wierd feeling for me. %)

I was that chick in the too short mini skirt dancing it up on the podiums while listening to cheesy house music at HEAT and TWISTER.

Whats SKANKIER than a skanky raver ? A chick who dances at TWISTER.

I also use to warn people about the harms of e, telling them I would never touch it as it may have herion in it.

DEAR OH DEAR.

Nuff said.

um
was + still *am* a metalhead stoner type girl
who uhh...
does the party thing in her spare time..?
god i'm sad ;D

it's just nice to have a change of atmosphere occasionally
and please note that if i ever invite you over, expect blood duster at full volume as you enter my room, even if we *have* just been out listening to techno all night

Breakabeat - i know how you feel, i too was that skanky "too short mini skirt"girl dancing on the podiums at sleazy dodgy clubs listening to house music...i was a HEAT/SPY LOUNGE whore!

Not sure if that has a catergory though??

category of "girls who pretend they aren't really cold in that skimpy outfit"

-glad i found my home....fatties and jumpers all the way now....(with the occasional mini skirt and skimpy top out on special occasions)

;)

haha good, keep it up, did u catch them at the metro a while ago, supporting The haunted? not bad, not bad at all.

i guess i used to be a metal-girl... then i moved on to the goth scene, just to find that it was not what i had thought it would be. Now i'm just floating between those two and the rave scene... trying not to get too caught up in any of them, just happy to enjoy the positive aspects of each.

I love the goth clothes and music.

I love raver happiness and music.

Metal - well i love the music.

I guess i just love music... that's fair enough isn't it? ;)

I was a bowl smokin, acid trippin, punk music enthusiast, who often dreamt about a cooler electronic sounding music to listen to while chemically influenced but never could find it until several years later when me and a friend finally got the balls up to goto this club called Orbit in boynton beach..........

i didn't think there were so many metal listeners in bl...

ive been a bit of everything, i was what you called a 'sheep'. ive been a try-hard homie, surfer bum, bong head, sports person:(, i went through my metal stage. ive always been somewhat of a computer geek!!

now i like to class myself as a try-hard raver and bong head (although i just quit drugs)

ive liked every kind of music, although ive always liked 'techno', i used to get heaps of shit for listening to it, the poeple who used to bag the shit out of it now love it and some come to raves with me...funny how people change.

heh dun be fooled by my nickname i love to rave asmuch as clubbin well maybe love to rave more, been doin now for bout 4 years now cause im still young *cough* one of my first raves were mystic lol out liverpool way i remember lol was awesome i only went cause my mates wanted me to, after i went to one, i got addicted to the electronic music bout 2-3years later i started to make my own musix and yer,

I've always been in the metal scene - remembers the good ol' days of the Cathouse and Sarah Sands *sighs*

I was heavily into death metal but now lean towards Doom and Gothic Metal.

I got into the rave scene and electronica for awhile, but got bored with the whole thing once the drugs stopped - just wasn't my thing in the end :)

Hmm, basically (on a general scale)

Very early 80s - pop (madonna, elton john, blah blah)

86 - Found metal. \m/ Played in metal bands, pub scene for many years, so that includes punk and hated all things electronic due to peers.

early 90s, started to realise I liked ALL music pretty much.(whilke still going to every metal gig possible) Most things I listened to, I could finmd something worth liking in it except a couple bands/songs I LOATHE TO DEATH (down to size SUCK!). Friends bagged me for liking stuff non-metal. Oh well shit happens. Also attended my first bush doof in something like 93. Well, outdoor music venue in the bush. *I've noticed the attitude is like EXACTLY the same as it was 10 years ago for people attending music events in the bush as to these days. ROCK ON!*

Didn't really find my love for 'real' eletronica (I came from Geelong, it was basically unheard of in my circles) until around 2000. Finally discovered techno *my main love along with psytrance* middle of 2001 when I walked into Cage nightclub in Melbourne. Quickly lapped up everything I could to do with tech.

Nowdays, my average listening varies from about 40% psy, 20% tech and a mash of metal (death metal mainly (napalm death, nile, hemdale, UNDINISM + early metallica for memory lane trips), jazz, funk, soul (james brown is GOD), classical , sex pistols, and cheesey dripping 80s pop for fun. And everything else in between at times.

it always surprises me how many of the bogans and stuff that you meet there are fucked up on stuff with crazy big smiles, i'm still getting used to it..

i was a punk. well i guess i still am in some ways, also a professional stoner..

I've been lots of things, but essentually they're all the same; short skirts, long stockings and too much kohl. Tarten with ladders, Punk; black with white lace petticoat and sleek black corset, Goth; crochet with mismatched stripy socks and a few mirrors, Hippy; glowsticks, glitter, tricolour socks, reflective, black light responsive, with optional drug related text, Raver.
I think deep down, I'm a culture slut.
