what bodybuilding supplements do you use?

sadly im too young for the juice yet (20yr old) and im trying to find some stuff i can add to get bigger quicker, basically things i can buy at GNC, vitamin stores etc what do you guys use?
 
guess i should start this off, i currently only use protein shakes....been thinking of starting creatine,l arginine, bcaa's and maybe glutamine, im still on the fence about taking a multivitamin
 
Creatine, whey and some vitamins and minerals. And also pre-workout supplements.
 
I dig it. coupled with l-arginine it gives almost too ridiculous pumps (I love that full tight feeling though). just added yohimbine hcl and glucosamine to my regiment. let's see how the yohimbine affects me... anyone have any experience with it?
 
BCAA 5g twice per day
Whey
Fish oil
Multivitamin
Magnesium
Zinc
Alpha lipoic acid
Carnosine (more for anti aging, but it acts as a muscle pH buffer for sports at higher doses).
 
Just eat more than your body consumes.

Protein + maltodextrin (1:2) shake with 1000kcal 2-3 times a day
for 6 weeks with your regular meals (2000kcal rda) should work just fine.
Then 2 weeks with low calories (-500kcal from your rda) to burn the fat.

Simple as that.
 
^whoa we got a professional here eh? lol you wanna ask this kid his size, or are your reco's "1 size fits all"? JK it wouldn't matter what you answer, the post still sucks.

anyways,
- zinc/magnesium: use a cheapy (read: not magnesium aspartate) formula b4 bed nightly
- a generic multi vit/min (insurance policy ;] )
- fish oil
- caffeine pills
- vitaminC (sometimes)
- melatonin (+benadryl +nyquil, although usually just melatonin)

serotonin- yohimbine is great IMO, very useful stimulant. It has a potential to give me anxiety, I don't find it as versatile as caffeine- but it definitely has a place as a proper OTC stimulant. You said yohimbine, specifically, but i'm just gg and mention that yohimbe, the actual bark, contains MAOI's in some concentration, so if not using the alkaloid(yohimbine), keep that in mind ;]
 
I'm using yohimbine hcl because of more accurate dosing as I've read horror stories of major dosage strength differences in yohimbe bark. also don't feel like investing an maoi as you said as that could have some severe negative side effects when other drugs (otc or possible emergency situations) are thrown into the mix. last thing I want is to get hit by a car and have the opioid pain relief kill me in my sleep because docs didn't know I had an maoi in me.

(oh and re the bark, yes it's a nightmare whether it's capsules or raw bark. One of my worst stimulant experiences, bar-none, was with a big chunk of bark lol)
 
its kind of a bitch to time out taking it as I read one does not want high amounts of insulin or the effects will be blunted or completely nullified. I guess ill save the rest of mine for the spring cut when I go on a caloric deficit. maybe low dose clen+t3 thrown in as well.
 
wait can you elaborate on the insulin angle there? I do everything in my power to spike insulin at certain times, and never had issue doing so when I used yohimbine (used it a lot last year, until caffeine just became a better "go-to" for me)

so to me personally yohimbine is very timing dependent. might work well for low carb (atkins) diets or keto diets or for your cutting time. also works nicely as a performance enhancer for males too ;) increases blood flood to the "nether regions". combined with agmatine and l-arginine causes insane "pumps" down there ;)

is he only referring to taking it for weightloss purposes or general stimulation? need to read that more thoroughly because usually competitive stuff like that just slows, not negates, efficacy.
(that said, lyle mcdonald is a smart mo-fo. His stuff is up there in credibility IMO)
 
personally when I tried it with a meal a days ago, i felt no stimulation. the next day on an empty stomach I took the same dosage and immediately had stomach discomfort, flushing, mild tremors, anxiety, racing heart beat, etc. as stated I use pre measured yohimbine hcl 2.5mg/capsule and my dose was 7.5mg in one dose. I weigh 160lbs as well so I figured the dose was ok as I read 0.2mg/kg body weight was sufficient and I assumed due to my failed dosing before I was a "tolerant" individual so I didn't adjust my dose.

Whey Protein Isolate (for after session)
Calcium Caseinate (for bedtime)
BCAAs (training days)
Fish Oil
Flax Seed Oil

When I am doing or coming off PCT and feeling like I need a boost. If I am feeling rich at the time I will buy some NOXPLODE
That stuff is good but it is just stupidly expensive.

I will also buy some Terrest-Trib (can't spell it).

When I was at university I used to go on MyProtein and buy all sorts of different ingredients to make my own energy drinks too. That was cool. I can't be bothered with it nowadays though. There is too much to choose from and its complicated.
 
i love noxplode, tho wouldn't even pay half their asking price for it (and couldn't distinguish between it and any other PWO formulas, all of which are just a lil step above pure caffeine anyways)

stop wasting money on trib.terrestris, it DOES NOT HELP YOU. It doesn't affect anabolism, strength, or hormonal levels. Trust me here it's not worth $1 a bottle.

Yeah, NoXPlode is a rip off but when you are in PCT and need any boost you can get it can be a bit of a kick up the arse and get a few more reps out of you.

Don't you rate Trib? Even the good stuff from MyProtein and places like that? I have never been sure. I can't say I have ever felt it, just again, when I am weak from PCT I like to think I have every edge I can get and even if it's placebo effect, it's worth a few every now and again
