I don't credit the Tates with the intelligence to do half the stuff they are accused of. But I don't credit Owsley with the ability to make LSD. But how many people even knew MC exists?

The Tates would have been a godsend to the various organized criminal groups in Romania. People who are dumb enough to THINK they are in charge, to self-incriminate to a frankly insane level and to draw attention away from others.

I noted somewhere earlier in the thread that it wasn't a normal police unit that arrested the Tates. It's a specialist unit, paramilitary in fact, whose remit is in dealing with organized crime. I suggest that someone in command saw an international case as a way to uncover the extensive corruption within the regular Romanian police force and judiciary. The fact that the Tates keep the story in the media would be to their advantage as well.

Obviously that's mostly speculation on my part but I took the trouble to watch the arrest video and identify that it wasn't police officers - it was more or less the Romanian SAS.

There's potential the Tates are infact being controlled by said crime groups, or other powerful Romanian people.

I would imagine because of potential association with powerful people in Romania, they would special forces to arrest them. They will be presumed as organised criminals/people traffickers so it makes sense.

As an interesting side note he seems to have massive support in Romania. Big crowds of people outside the prison cheering upon their release.

In a nation like Romania, the criminals are more than capable of using the media for their own ends. Maybe it was just people who strongly supported them, or equally, maybe it was just people who had been told to turn up and cheer.

Who knows? But after the police and judiciary, the media is the next-most important institution to pervert.

South American criminal gangs have used just such tactics - Pablo did.

But they couldn't subvert the media and I think about 150 journalists and editors were murdered in Pablo's case. But flash-mobs were certainly a recognized method.

If you can find the original footage, the guys in balaclavas who are all tooled up have a 4 letter identifier on the back of their uniforms - that's how I identified them. I did identify them but the footage I used isn't available any more, for some reason.

When absolutely everything else you could think of is being discussed on Bluelight, including current news and political stuff, it doesn't surprise me at all this is being discussed here.

Is it a heap of shite? In my opinion yes but for other reasons already outlined earlier in this thread.

Equally if you don't like the subject and have been on BL years. Then why not visit another thread and contribute to the discusssion? Rather than telling mods to close this one.
