Oh dear...I'm predicting some sad Englishmen in a few weeks :)

Overconfidence, home advantage, new English boys unfamiliar with the conditions, Aussies desperate above all to beat England. It'll be tough, but I still fancy the locals. Should be a great series though.

Average Aussies, terrible form, pitches to suit the poms, crowd on their backs, no spinner...could be a long series for Punter and his boys. :)

I might try to get up early and watch the last bit. And watch some over the weekend.

Pessimist/tortured England fan in me says Aussies must win - they've still only lost 3/17 home tests since McGrath went, and only one series (at home) - and that was only a 3 Test affair where S Africa caught their batsmen cold. But, if Aus don't score runs (and Clarke, Hussey and North have about one decent score between them since March) England will win. Romantic in me says 3-2 England. Realist says 3-1, 2-1 Aus.

Be an interesting toss. History suggests batting first is always best, but if it's a bit green and overcast i'd like to see Daisy and Broad tearing in to the Aussie top order. Then again, batting 4th at the Gabba is usually shite.

I have that dvd set of the 5-0 whitewash, its painful to watch. :|

Punters not in form , nor is Mr Cricket, and Pup is more concerned with his private life thesedays.
The Convicts are there for the taking, plus they were given a decent thrashing by India ( and Sri Lanka) recently, the bowling attack is nowt to fear.

Forcast for the first 4 days is something around 27 and sunny everyday.
 
Just woke up, looks like a little cloud cover early with a slight chance of showers (read, not fucking likely). Tip for the opening session, the ball will zip around and helmets will be lost on this Gabba pitch. The last 4 day game a couple of weeks ago was over in less than 1 1/2 days. Good morning to win the toss and bowl. The chances of Ponting batting if he wins is probably odds on because he is a pompous cock with his head up his arse.

Got to work today while the boss attends the opening session. I hate my fucking life. :(
 
Got to be up around 7am, luckily my MD is also a cricket fan (as is half my team). Having a 4mth old baby and a 2.5 year old kiddie has given me training for sleep depravation.

Just wish i had some coke for Friday nights session!
 
Fuck aye its gonna start now, buggered as i gotta be in docklands at 7 am.( Lotsa options expire on friday, esp currency ones)

I think it would be dissapointing if we dont get at least 450 on this flat track.
