^I actually haven't played any of the other battlefield games. I'm stuck without three of the find all five, I think.. the assault rifle, shotgun, and sniper. Can't get the gamer-tag link to recognize me. Keeps saying try again later, or error (but when I input my old GT that I canceled, it registers- not that that solves anything). Also, I have no chance of getting the chinese sniper rifle, because that was a preorder code, and gamestop didn't come through- perhaps EA didn't supply.
The sniper rifle I love to use is
VSS "Vintores"--- basically fully automatic, 12 round clip. Single shot gives more accuracy of course (pulsing), but if a guy is standing still for a second and one headshot won't do (sometimes it won't kill a guy if you're not perfect), just hold the trigger down and they're down. Rapage. I end up shooting full clips at one guy to take him down, or firing into clusters of guys as they run, usually. My accuracy is probably the worst on my friends list because of this, and firing at helicopters with support.
VSS came with the Gold Edition.. which I feel a little-kind-of stupid for buying, because I'll be at level 25 (when you would normally receive it) in the next two-three days, and would've got it anyway. The SVU is similar enough, just not as stable (but it's supposedly more accurate and has higher damage).

yea it is- but then again, how often do you get a game in other games where people are actually talking to benefit the game (if at all)? I was first introduced to this type of squad layout with Frontlines: Fuel of War.. and at first I didn't like it, but then it seemed to be fine. If I got on a good squad it was fine- that is. Plus side is you don't have to listen to everybody trying to out-talk each other, or little kids neener neenering.
One thing Frontlines did add was proximity chat, and squad leader chat.. which I found useful (though, I traded the game for credit on this one). The directional pad isn't used in BF, except to take screenshots, and that's just one direction (up, i think)- so I hope they incorporate something similar. Proximity chat is very much needed, and should've been included. Don't know why they didn't. I can't remember how many times when I was on the attacking team and I run up to a fellow of the support class on my team- and he doesn't even pay attention to the fact that our team is about to lose (say 1/8th remaining reinforcements or less, doesn't matter really- how many) and I and most likely a few others are low on health. I don't see why some people are just stupid like that. I mean.. when I'm support I keep an eye out for any "+" marks I see, or wrench icons (needs repaired).. you get points, and it helps your team win. People will get it eventually.. I'm not even sure some of the support guys I've seen even know they can heal.

I know its ridiculous. People also spawn camp when attacking.. Can't have a go at them so just have to TK
Should be like a game I used to play - Planetside - where people who were of a certain rank could chat to whole platoons and as you got even higher, the whole team to co-ordinate attacks.. But levels were much harder to gain

Halo 2 wouldn't have come out if people didn't like Halo. They (developers, publishers) know the formula sells, so they try to make it different- but new... but still the same. It's only natural, and it's what people still want (but we always want more).
Battlefield is simple and recognizable. What else could/would they call it, and would it matter?

Urgently need to know if the sniper rifle you get by pre-ordering is any good and if you can unlock it any other way!

The QBU (unlocked via code) is my preferred sniper rifle... but that's only because I didn't get the GOLD version of the game. The Chinese sniper rifle is probably better. Get to 25 and you get them all anyway, don't you?

i thought we kept all the unlocks that we got from the demo. i guess not? anyways, i kinda wish there were other multiplayer modes besides gold rush. i hope they come out with conquest mode soon.

I was hoping there would be more weapons in the full game.. There is only really 6-8 things worth unlocking. You don't get any better weapons at higher level because you can unlock the best one on first level.

if you didn't notice I joined your game.
and about the weapons.. you will find that certain ones are good for certain things.. but it'd really suck anyways if some were actually "better" than others.

Its not a 5* because the AI for your squad in campaign are daft and you can play on hardest difficulty with a trial and error approach.
Also, I don't think many people online know the analogue stick from their vagina and keep crashing helicopters
