Health Use Of LSD On The Underage Brain

Again I keep hearing people say this. I have absolutely no genetic predisposition.

ANYONE who did the amount of psychedelics, alcohol and other drugs I did combined with the amount of stress, malnutrition and SEVERE chronic sleep deprivation I had could have a psychotic/schizo break.

Schizophrenia/psychosis is not purely genetic and farm from it!!
 
LSD is the most powerful drug i have ever experienced. I've not done nearly the amount of things many BLers have - but i've been around the block lol

My story with LSD is bittersweet in a sense. The first trip, i met god. For the first time in my life. You can imagine the ramifications of this haha. I continued to take LSD from the age of 17 to 19 (where i am now). I don't plan to ever "quit" but long, extended breaks are vital for proper respect of this substance. I currently own 4 tabs and I'm hoping to stretch this year until i graduate. Could even be longer.

IME, this is when things can become sketchy. Anhedonia with any given substance is generally a good indicator of an unhealthy relationship. But again, this is all just my experience. I'll end by saying that @SnafuInTheVoid is right about drug induced psychosis. It is a very real possibility and even with "good" genetics there is always a risk

Yes. Psychedelics are NOT drugs of abuse and should never be treated as so.

It often takes MONTHS if not longer to truly digest, understand and appreciate any psychedelic trip.

Don't be like me who used to get high on them for fun, weekly and semi-daily. Led to my severe illness (and resulting homelessness)

Let me say, though that believing whatever that guy said is pure speculation. Your brain can often trick you into thinking something is real or correct when it's not, especially at the suggestion of someone else.

You've probably heard the saying "don't believe everything you see". The REAL saying should be "don't believe everything you THINK". Your brain can and will misinterpret things and deceive you!

I will say, a doctor is not going to give you a cat scan for things like depression, addiction or serotonin deficiency. Doesn't really work like that. I mean... MAYBE if you insist, your parents insist and you're willing to spend thousands of dollars. They can't even detect things like chemical deficiencies in your brain from a cat scan. They're used to detect brain damage, tumors and things like that.

Your #1 goal right now should be eating healthy, exercising and practicing positive mental techniques to deal with addiction, anxiety, depression and the like. This is how you grow into a strong, healthy person.

I was under the impression that chemical deficiencies could be easily found with a scan, I knew they couldn’t scan for depression or things like that but I’ve become fairly decent at dealing with that. I’m not to worried about it, it would be nice if there was a simple fix but if not I can always rely on physical exercise especially once I’m older and able to go where I want when I want. I will definitely be spending a lot of time in the gym whenever possible. I’ve come to the conclusion that psychedelics will definitely be in my future wether it be sooner or later.
 
You will come out fine. In the 60's every damm kid and teen was downing 300 ug hits on the weekly and well some people may up end very fried from regular LSD use as quitting will eventually bring a person back to earth after very long breaks for extreme use a decade may be needed to be back to earth

Let me reexplain. They CAN scan for things like depression but it is not a common practice and not something they're going to do because you asked for it. They do it in major case studies to further science.

All a scan will do is detect certain areas of your brain that may be underactive or overactive. This will NOT say anything about chemical deficiencies but may suggest it.

But yeah, don't expect a brain scan because you're "depressed" or something. Unless your parents are willing to spend thousands of dollars and convince a doctor to do it you aren't going to get one for normal life problems.
 
As for the break, I was tripping every two weeks but I only did that for a month and a half. If I do move forward I will probably trip once a month or so but take a slightly larger dose. It seems when I taker higher doses I’m less likely to want to trip again sooner

There is no known method to measure "chemical balances" in the brain, if they even exist

yeah you gotta find what works for you. for me it's ~75 ug at least 6 months apart. Right now i'm going on 10 with no plans in sight lol
 
Man, I have nine nephews and nieces..ages from 1-11.

Can't wait to have this convo in real life! Guaranteed to be at least one fellow degen out of those nine.

neuroscience tends to be moving away from the traditional implementation level biological theories and more towards top to bottom integrated theories (based on the study of networks) - which imho is an excellent move

I only have two, and they're still toddlers. I hope I can be that wise uncle that gives them REAL advice vs their parents who will probably tell them good, but incorrect advice. IDK... I want to be that one uncle the kids love who tells them the truth about drugs. If that makes sense... idk. Their parents are great parents but doubt they will tell them the truth about drugs.

"JUST SAY NO" or "DRUGS ARE BAD" is a horrible way to go about it. It's like telling a kid "don't push that button"....... you know they are going to. Educate them about the results when they do!

I often think about if I have kids of my own what I would tell them about drugs. I'd be real fair and stuff, stern but realistic. I OFTEN think about it.

ime, parents tend to be in acting in good faith but they can never really explain drugs truthfully unless they've done a few themselves
 
Honestly I don’t think being educated would have changed my course of actions when it comes to my first time smoking, drinking etc. But that’s just me.... I’ve always been fascinated by drugs

Yeah, I'm the "cool uncle" and my siblings are cool.....they'd straight send their kids to me for advice based on my own experiences. So I think the kids will be lucky in that sense. Have someone tell them truth vs fiction.

You're probably right.

I researched the shit out of MDMA and mushrooms before I even looked at them. Didn't stop me from overdoing it almost off the hop. Fucking idiot (me, not you). Nor did it stop me from getting into meth even though I knew aaaall about it. Nor from becoming a binge drinker afterwards.

What it did do, however, was allow me to at least be cognisant of such things as the imperative of testing my gear, keeping hydrated, etc.

It was conducive to some level of harm reduction as opposed to being conducive to abstinence.
