Nope sorry. I dont think she is a fraud at all.
I obviously have a different opinion, and I am aware she messed up at SNL and a few other concerts. Nobodys perfect.

one last question: Did you see her Orange Bowl performance live deja? If you didn't...I'm sorry you missed out on perhaps the worst live music display I've ever seen on television. Nevermind the lip-synch mess-up...her performance was not far off from the infamous Roseanne national anthem debacle. But hey...I'll fight for your right to like her. ;)

I still find it hard to believe how you can't seem to understand why she is a total fraud. Is it the lipsyncing part? The lying part? The autotuned voice part? The not writing her own songs part? The capitalizing off her sister part? The Orange Bowl performance part?

Really, it's hard to find evidence supporting her. Additionally, the whole family makes me sick, especially the father, exploiting his children for his own ends. What a shithead. She is a phony role-model for young girls. What sort of message is that sending?

I know you find it hard to believe, but thats how I feel. Everything you are describing seems normal of half the famous people..especially pop stars. And A LOT of bands use backing vocal tapes..I dont get why thats so weird.

You avoided my questions. I also find it sad that you think lipsyncing and all the other falsities you feel are "normal" for "pop stars" is acceptable behavior. Again, what kind of message is that sending?

Also, please name the bands that use "backing vocal tapes." I'd love to know considering how many of them there apparently are.

Could it be that the thread is so serious because some people can actually realise that there is serious problems with Western culture, and Ashlee Simpson (and her fans) personify a large number of them?

And you can tell your friend that even though he is supposedly a hardcorer than thou death metalist his taste in music is indicative of his real musical talent... Is your friend in The Used?

There are lots of them, linkin park for one, but Im sure you probably think the same thing about them as ashlee.
 
Linkin Park is just as fake.

Those kind of bands are not real. You really don't have any argument here.
 
You should support your argument with bands you think are real, Finder.

I'm pretty sure 99.5% all my favorites don't/didn't ure backing vocals. :D
 
I'll try to use a wide varity of artists and even include ones I don't necessarily like:

Wilco, REM, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Phish, Led Zeppelin, CSNY, Modest Mouse, Elvis Costello, Bad Religion, Blind Melon, Andrew Bird, Pink Floyd, Morphine, Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, Pavement, the Slip, the Flaming Lips, Ween, Weezer, Uncle Tupelo, Van Morrison, Talking Heads, Sublime, Soul Coughing, Grateful Dead, Green Day, Nirvana, Beck, Paul Simon, ANY Motown artist, Velvet Underground, NOFX...

I can go on for weeks.

A lot of these folks won't get played on radio because the time is being taken up by no talent fucks like Linkin Park and Ashlee Simpson. No one wants to actually think about music these days. They want a happy little pill they can swallow. There is still good music underground, but sadly, good music isn't almost completely dead from the public eye. What you see is what you should be getting. No one in the 60s and 70s (arguably the pinnacle of music in the last 100 years) had to use pre-recorded vocals. The Beatles achieved their crazy album effects without the use of some of the completely ridiculous tools available to artists these days (the autotuner). You know why bands like this didn't have to use crutches? BECAUSE THEY ARE TALENTED!

Good for them. I like a lot of them. I also like Ashlee. I dont care where the sound comes from it I like how it sounds when it hits my ears. :D

Hahahaha..I dunno. His former band had quite a following in the area we live. They were actually supposed to get signed but then they broke up. And just because someone doesnt agree with you doesnt make them a lunatic.
