TV: Lost

hey... i know my hubby could do that, we put up some neat visuals from the puter one of our little party nights, great idea :D thanks!

awesome, there is a new anime out that i can't find on dvd yet, so this will work for that too. you da man, silly!

Oh my fucking TENSION.

Season three, episode six, and it's fucking OVER until fucking FEBRUARY!?!?!?! DOUBLE YOU - TEA - EFF!?!

grrrrrrrrrrrrr. it's gonna be like summer for the next 3 1/2 months, only minus the cookouts, swimming, awesome weather, and scantily clad females. fuck ABC; they can suck a nut. this is effing ridiculous.

they were probably upset after 'the lost experience' stole hundreds of thousands of viewers away from repeated episodes and into the internet, where abc makes little money. hopefully it'll get leaked... *prays for first time in life*

wow, yeah, I guess at this point there's only a few more weeks til Lost returns. Yay for time going by so quick now that it's like...gone.

^^^ Yeah I'll say. Very much reminded me of the Final Destination movies.

Lost is something of a guilty pleasure for me. I find it riveting, but I can see why some of my guy friends give me shit for liking it.

I just finished watching all of Season 2 through NetFlix as I sat home and got over a cold. Never saw Season 1. I love a good mystery. I just hope the writers of this show are keeping the retconning to a minimum, especially with the loss of a few major actors. Mysteries only pack a full punch for me when all the pieces fall crisply into place the second everything is revealed.

Last night's Desmond-centric episode was wonderful, imo. :)

I especially liked
NSFW:
The woman in the pawn shop (inside Hume's head?) and the fact that Charlie is pretty much doomed to die on the island, now.

^^^ I can't see how they'll kill Charlie off. Isn't he one of the actors who sells the show?

It's possible that Desmond's whole reliving of his past was a vision piped into his head by the island somehow. It definitely seemed dreamlike and surreal enough.

My question is, when are they going to get back to that ship at the finale of season 2, with the Russian guys playing chess?

Also, I find it odd that Ben was stupid enough to let himself get captured by the crash survivors in their net. If he's very important to the others, why didn't he send someone lowlier for a reconnaisance mission? He doesn't seem very bright for the leader of a top-secret island experiment.

pretty sure Ben chose to be captured.

Also, you might want to consider putting that in spoiler tags, though I don't really know how one decides what's a spoiler and what isn't in a Lost thread. ;)

Fuck Charlie... i don't see why anyone would want to watch the show for him. He's a pansy lil junkie that has a flair for the dramatic. I hope he dies sooner than later.

So do you all think that it was all in his head or the EMP blast / kill switch cause some kind of dimensional fold sucking Desmond briefly into the fourth dimension / fifth dimension, bending time and space, and placing him briefly back in time?

Something certainly happened, as he clearly knew about the events w/ Claire / Charlie before they happened. And somehow, he woke up nude and battered outside of the hatch.

Any guesses?

if you play the scene in the "brainwashing" room #23 where the Others had Karl locked up, Clockwork Orange style, it loops over and over "Only fools are slaves to time and space" or something along those lines.

The Island is in another (parallel) dimension and Desmond can see into the 4th dimension!

I'm pretty confident the whole show is going to be moving in the direction of "time travel", alternate dimensions, black holes, and dark matter.

Anyone else have any other theories?

My theory is that the island is humanity's attempt to overcome fate. Desmond's last name is Hume, and the philosopher David Hume had some interesting things to say about determinism/free-will/fate. In a deterministic universe, our actions are determined by physical/chemical interactions, hence, "slaves to time and space."

Yah my theory is pretty similar in a sense... i could attempt to explain on here, but it would take me way too much effort to try and type it all out, but it all has to do with dimensional theory, "fate" (for a lack of a better word), string theory, and dimensional rifts (black holes)

anyone else who watches heroes notice many, many references to a secret, 'lost' island? i doubt it's a crossover of any sort, but that would be pretty cool.
