Television True Blood

The biggest problem with this show is that everyone seems to be something other than human.

*Vampires all around. OK. It's their show.

*Woman who's really a Greek God just hanging out in Louisiana? Sure. Why not?

*Bar owner who shapeshifts.

*Werewolves. Because you can't have a story about vampires without werewolves. When did that become the norm?

*Shapeshifter's shifty family who shapeshift as well.

*Sookie is Tinkerbell.

*Jason's all deep in some girl who, besides a little skanky, is something, too. Probably a mummy.

The vampires seem to have become a back-story in their own show. They even seem to be hinting that Lafayette may be something. He did die in the books early (First Season) so anything that happens to him, past that point, is up to the writers of the show.

And have Bill limited to saying the name Sookie ONE time per episode. If he absolutely has to. Holy shit. I've never heard one person say the other person's name as much as he does. Especially when they're in the same room!? Stop saying Sookie!!!!!!!!!!

Tara is really starting to get on my nerves. She is always either yelling, judging people incorrectly because of her fucked up life or having a fucking panic attack. I am getting fed up with her, that damn lip thing is so fucking annoying.

They have opened up way too many cans of worms.. Taking shit from all kinds of story lines from the books.. I am just wondering how they're going to place it together in any kind of rational order.. Also I really hope they start giving Eric more credit... This season is worse than last. I will keep watching but I am getting annoyed... Sookie giving bill the business and Eric getting his vengeance is what I am looking foward too!!

Yea I am glad they kept lafayette around too, he is fucking hilarious "Aids burger...." lulz

The werewolves were actually cool in the books..

From your previous post.. I know I need to seperate the books from the show.. but my problem is they are taking so much from the books but it's leading nowhere. All these story lines.. They already brought out hunter? WTF? There is so much shit... and how sookie finds out what she is... This could be way better...

In the books Eric always looks after sookie.. making sure she has everything she needs.. pays her alot for helping him.. There is more too his character, I guess that's where I am getting annoyed..

Charleine Harris is a bad author but I enjoyed the series..

I realize there has to be some differences so the show won't be exactly like the books. Only book one in Dexter is season one.. the rest of it has taken a life of it's own and I LOVE it! But they're not fucking up main characters, and mostly the changes do not bother me... they don't even follow the same story line.. but it's badass nonetheless.

I guess to understand my frustration you would have had to have read the books..

Its kinda always been about Bill anyway, at least the TV SHOW. The show pretty much follows his life, with random story lines throughout. Eventually it comes back around to Sookie & Bill though.

I can't possibly see how you could be bummed out. You just got to see Eric have almost full on homo vampire sex, then right before penetrating he kills the other vampire. I don't even really like this show that much and I thought that shit was at least hilarious.

In the books the only homo vampire sex Eric speaks of is when he fucked his maker who was not Godric. He "did not enjoy it, but you cannot turn down your maker"...

However I was actually disgusted at the scene. While for vengeance.. jesus fuck... lol Was in dire need of mind bleach for that one... I much prefer Eric molesting sookie in the book... and throwing it in bills face here and there..

I look at it 2 ways... Man Rape is not gay if it's for vengeance.. and WTF? lol

Thank God(ric) I didn't read the books... you guy's need to stop watching if it raises your blood pressure so much. :P

This season definitely took a more comical and over-the-top route, but I was enough of a fan of the previous seasons to keep watching. AND, I'll say what I keep saying, I think it's going to wind up into a nice big (bloody) explosion. Russell is now more pissed off and more willing to declare his war. Cool.

All in all, this show gave me something I never expected to get. Soft-core porn staring Anna Paquin. I was so turned on by her in X-Men.
 
Everyone is hattin' on Bill. Get off Eric's nuts, he's not going anywhere. Books don't translate into TV Shows or Movies. Instead they take main themes and expand from there.

If it bothers you so much that they aren't loyal to the book, then maybe watch something else so you're not constantly getting pissed off. Eric didn't deserve the shower scene. Bill did. This isn't the book ladies.

Sorry if that came off harsh, but none of these characters are going anywhere soon. Between Bill, Eric & Jason there should be enough beefcake to keep you ladies entertained.
 
Really I wish I hadn't read the books until after the series was over because I do get pissed over Bill. Other than that, I love the changes they've made (like keeping Lafayette and creating Jessica's character).

If Alcide could come around a little more, I'd be happier ;)
