Top 5 Finalists in the Bluelight.nu DJ competition!!!

after more listens, im not satisfied with leaving a horrible fuck up like that on there. I'm gonna remix it and put it back up tomorrow, sorry guys. It will be the exact same track list, just no fuck up :)

hey 3rd Space.. Are you keeping that mix as your mix for this round of the competition also? or are you going to do another one? up to you of course.

Allan....listening to yours now :)

3rd.space: another wicked mix. kinda laid back and groovy, which I really dig. got a track list by any chance?

heh sorry about taking it down, it was just an awful screw up, i should have listened to it from beginning to end before uploading it, i just was excited to get it up for everyone. it will be back up this afternoon :)

Allan, cheers for the feedback :)
I like your mix too man, (I'm only half way right now, didn't save and closed the window by mistake 8( ) keeping it groovy with a couple of big tracks for good measure. Tight.
I'll post the tracklisting later today...

I just about did the same thing mystic. had a set recorded, had it uploaded but wanted to listen through it a few times before posting it here. after a couple run throughs I decided that it needed some more work (it sucked). So I moved some tracks around and worked out some of the kinks and now I'm way more pleased with the current mix than the original.

btw, we're all gonna end up with a ton of new music when this is all said and done. no one walks away a loser for sure.

oh most definitely. I'm in the process of uploading like 7 old mixes i have, ill put them all in the other mix thread for everyone to check out if they like

its done again, slight change to the tracklist (changed one song with something that fit the mix better). Its uploading now, ill put a link when its done.

Just listened to your mix all the way Allan.
good solid mixing mate, much props. Seems to progress well too. I like the tech sound a lot, although if the tracks are too in-yer-face tech sounding or when it's not done right can sound a bit samey. Yours doesn't do that however, so thats refreshing. I love Voices, even though it's an older track it's bass line is bad ass - i have a rockin Roger Sanchez remix of it from '95 that I still play out! Your mix holds onto the vibe well, I think it's gonna be a tough one for the judges....

just a question for the other four, how long have you guys been spinnin? i first got on the decks about two years ago, but have only been serious and had my own decks and equipment since may 02

^ I picked up my first set of decks february this year. I'd taken a year out to travel before that, but prior to all that I was using software for a year.

Oddly enough for my lazy self I finished my mix lastnight .... I was going to do another techouse mix, but wanted to keep a few progressions fresh for the uk bl meetup the week after next. So I went deep instead. Here's the track list:

Richard Gow - Life is like
Soul Providers - Let the Sunshine in
95North - Chasing my dreams (Red Dub)
Sandy B - Make the world go round (remix!?!)
95North - Chasing my dreams
Miguel Migs - Feel it
Una Mas - I will follow
Dubtribe Sound System - Autosoul
One Track Minds - Late at night
Mirage - You know I like it
Terry Francis - Loving you
Perfect Toy - Latin Thing

nowonami has (been one of the people who) very kindly offered to host it for me, cheers ... pints coming your way ... how many is that I owe you now? :)

It should be up soon enough and hopefully I can download yours at the same time!!!!

Started about 9 years ago, but didn't really take it too seriously until I moved to the states nearly three years ago. I still don't have my own tables (mine are in the UK), but get to play out twice a week so that helps. It kinda sucks 'cos for something like this comp I only had 24 hours to get it recorded due to having to rent/borrow the equipment. Not sure if I'll buy 1200s and Final Skratch or the CDJ1000s:)

3rd.space - thanks for the feedback! Voices is one of the first records I ever bought and it holds it own very well, even though I really don't pay any attention to the release date when I buy. If I haven't heard it, it's new to me ya know?

mystic - I bought my decks a year and a half ago, but this year I was without them for 5 months:(, so I guess I've only had about a solid year of practice time on them. before that I used software to mix. also, downloading your mix now...

3rd Space mixes are hands down the best. The new one is off the charts8o Congrats. For any of you that haven't seen 3rd Space......you're missing out.
