Thumbprinting LSD

I've had 12mg/ml LSD soln on my skin (something like 0.25ml) before and got bog all from it (had a load of benzos ready to munch down at the first sign!), which does tend to make me lean towards the 'exaggeration & beyond' camp as regards Chinacat's comments on this particular topic


Repeating a previous question - has anybody ever seen piezoluminescence from crushing LSD? The only LSD i've ever seen was a powder so there were no crystals to crush (would love top see piezoliminescence & it doesn't have to be LSD either!)

This information has led some to speculate that Albert Hofmann actually didn't trip off LSD in that second, bicycle day synthesis; that he actually had a divine vision similar to some sort of vision he experienced in the woods as a child that he describes in LSD: My Problem Child. I don't ascribe to this theory at all, but it does lead one to wonder if Albert realized the psychoactive potential at some point decides to resynth this 5 year old chemical and dose himself. Or he licked his fingers like a naughty little chemist.

nichols mentioned it though so he obviously didn't see any problem. doesnt necessarily mean there isn't one though, i think lsd is just about small enough that transdermal in dmso should work.

Pretty sure I read about this in Tikhal, (I think 8( ) if he's good enough for Shulgin to quote, then I would reckon that the method was considered valid.

Nichols was the guy who gave the speech, I was referring to him.

I think it was Nichols who said something like no matter what him and his team did with LSD in the lab, no matter how sloppy the work conditions and even attempting to simulate Hoffmans lab (Nichols apparently used LSD to train his rats's) they NEVER spontaneously tripped. He, for one, couldn't see how Hoffman accidntally ingested anything. Some theroies propose that the accidntal dose was small amount of LSD/ergolines wiped in the eye. Either way though, the bicycle trip was induced by LSD, because he consumed 250ug an hour before hand.

Hofmann did have a 'strange presentiment' about LSD, and dreamed of its structure- apparenly thats why he resynthed it. Thank god he did.... It should be considered though that Albert was somewhat of a 'mystic' and was probably more likely to be open to a mystcial experience, but nevertheless the bicycyle trip was induced by LSD.

EDIT: I was thinking along the lines. He needs a good cover story. So he dreams of it, makes it again, "accidentally" feels a minor effect, and then does some the next day.

I read/heard somewhere - so may or may not be true - that the police who raided the lab in the Op Julie bust all started tripping because there was either LSD "dust" all over the shop which they absorbed through their skin, or they inhaled it or something. Probably a myth, who knows.

It was said that the chemists didn't trip whilst manufacture because they built up a huge tolerance.

Please feel free to delete this post if it's a load of crap ;)
 
^^^^ Likely to be more mythology. People just can't be satisfied with grounded and rational versions of events.

The idea of LSD molecules not righteously infiltrating the air to ambush the Forces of Evil, and merely remaining in their containers, is apparently a notion too painful for some to contemplate. :D
 
^^^ There is another explanation.

Pickard was, according to china cat, not a member of the kind heady thumbprinted brahs, and therefore not protected by the kind heady karmic power of the fluffy crystal.

It only makes sense that if the crystals did not offer their magical faerie dust protective veil they also would not rise up and strike the durty feds either.

Ah, now I understand how the False Kemist Pickard was smote from his heathen Siloe to spend the rest of his Days in the Dungeons of the Evil Ones.
