The ultimate gamer thread, aka 'Geek my Forum'

I just d/loaded about 5 games for my NDS:
Lego Indiana Jones
Picross
Meteos
Etrian Odyssey
and Soul Bubble.

Currently addicted to Picross. Itching to try the other ones. I think I'm gonna be real shit at Etrian Odyssey. I love RPGs but I'm not very good at them. Cant even get past one of the first bigger fights in FFXII (DS) :(

have you tried the ace attorney series of games? very addictive!

If you like puzzle games, I really enjoyed "prisms of light" and "Puzzle Quest"

The dark brother hood i am doing now (well, was doing until my hard disk died) and yeah its fun, but i dont really remember what was so fun about it. With the guilds i found that each has its advantages. I started with Mage then fighter, got stuck there and joined the theives. its nothing special, but you really do need the skillz it gives you if you want some cool loot.

the trick to leveling up is SLEEPING. You dont sleep, you dont level. you might have all the stats ready to level, but it wont happen. <--- hint hint ;)

Vanth - to me, oblivion is 1st person WoW without the dickheads or social parts. I hated WoW with a passion - just seemed soulless to me - oblivion seems like a world alive.

Oblivion is a joke. Sure it's a world, but it's not exactly a sandbox. All characters follow the same routine day in day out. The quests are often boring and repetitive and the combat is crap. Was good when it came out, but is now dated and although it appears on next-gen consoles there is nothing next-gen about it, merely a redone morrowind with better graphics. The best fun you can have in this game is beating horses to death with your fists.

Don't play. Save your enjoyment for fallout 3.

P.S. Prototype - Assassins Creed meets Dead Rising meets Crackdown... Pity it's a year and a bit away.

Not sure if you'll see this post, but how many mods do you have running at the moment in Oblivion? I'm still running it stock but I really should install some of mods that help with graphics etc.

Feel like I'm missing out playing without mods but it's a case of whats worthwhile and whats not :\

Guess I'll have to try a few and see how I go.

but oblivions a joke, how can you possibly like it? so many people on the net come in here to tell us not to play a game that we really like, im starting to listen to them. im going to go play some hard core Roleplaying game that requires me to wear my shirt of wankerness (+255) and only play with one hand on the keyboard. i'm so hard core this game is all text based.

(i had a couple of magic mods installed and the good gfx one, my disk crashed on the weekend, lost everything :( )

Puzzle Quest was heaps of fun but I finished it WAY too quick! I haven't got to Ace Attorney yet but I'll give it a go :-D

Will have to get Prisms of Light - I LOVE puzzle games so much. Totally killing Sudoko on Brain Training aswell.
 
Currently plaing Eternal Sonata. Cel shaded rpg for the 360. Basically the game is talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, fight fight fight fight boss fight, repeat. The combat system consists of running up to an enemy, spamming the attack button then pushing the special attack button, then having the next players turn. Usually the enemies dont get a turn if you manage to suprise them. Makes you wish this game had an auto-win feature (like in earthbound, snes) so you didn't have to have those 1 turn fights. A bit too cutesy for my tastes.
 
i'm half way through GTA IV 360, UK Version, But stuffs me what the difference is...it's probably the australian one anyway and I was just told that to get me to buy it :\

it's good though, just yeah
 
you need to pick up some whores to notice the difference. the uk version has the blowjob / handjob / sex animation whilst the au version fixes the view to the back of the car and all you see is the rocking of the car.

uk version also has more blood.
 
Bought myself a new PC today. Can't wait for it to arrive. Its going to blow the shit out of every game I've got, and can get.

^ If its by the designers of Oblivion then maybe the ratings commity really do have standards
 
^ Oblivion would have been decent if:

* The enemies didn't level with you
* They didn't use 2 voice actors for the entire game (one for males and grunting, one female)

Still ...... I begrudgingly agree
 
I laughed until I choked when I heard about Fallout 3. Because I knew all the Fallout fanboys would be crying into their keyboards :D

Has anyone played the spore creature creator? Spore looks really awesome, I am looking forward to playing it.
 
ooh yes! the boy got a preview of it or something - it's cool!

i made some awesome creatures, but now can't do anything with them until we get the full game. they do cute dances :D
