Vanth - to me, oblivion is 1st person WoW without the dickheads or social parts. I hated WoW with a passion - just seemed soulless to me - oblivion seems like a world alive.

Cool, I will definitely check it out. The social part of wow is one of the reasons I like it, the dickheads however, I could certainly do without! :D It seem a little strange to me that you find an environment without any other people in it more alive than one without them? Could you explain that a bit more? :)

Man, you guys are to us, what Magic players are to kids actually using the school library to get books.

You're making us all look nerdy by association :)

Heheh, you can't help us for trying to improve your image a little ;)

edited to add: It would be hard to make someone with a DNA molecule tattooed on their arm look any *more* nerdy than they already are :D

WoW (almost everything by blizzard), fallout, zelda, bioshock, final fantasy (almost everything by square), system shock, knights of the old republic (almost everything by bioware), even old school bards tale, ultima and eye of the beholder... these were all great RPG games

oblivion, with its 1st person 'wave a stick in your face' and pointless leveling (opponents level with you) ...

is not

this conversation -> is over

Well. We obviously like it (I have played all those RPGs btw) so why not post something constructive instead of bashing it? Not trying to say you can't have an opinion but there are better ways to go about it then say "conversation is over"

What games are you currently playing? Anything good?

^ Yeah I've been paying this...

wonderboy.jpg

...its fuckin dope

i spent about 4 million dollars on wonderboy in my youth :) just got it on the Wii's VC the other day. its not as good as i remember :(

vanth - its hard to explain really

In WoW i was always aware that im playing a game and it just didnt click with me. The world seemed like this place setup for me to go fight something, which is cool, but the "suspension of disbelief" just doesnt come with wow for me. I know, No one else i know understands it either. Maybe the hype (i didnt start playing it till 3 months ago, and then i had to wait 4 days whilst downloading the fucking updates, leaving me with 3 days of play - over a weekend i had to go out bush for) was too much and i expected more than what was there.

In oblivion, it was like i had another life - everything seemed coherent, nothing out of place and most of all.

now that i think about it... oblivion has a story, WoW has quests. thats what i dont like about it.

and as for oblivion not being an RPG... who cares? .. in any case, im pretty sure i play a role in that game.

Hey cool Marklars here, whats up? :)

I'm thinking about starting a new character already in Oblivion. Don't really like the character I've created (Dark Elf, Battlemage). I like the class... just don't like the race. No particular reason...

I want a character that is predominantly Magic based, but also can use a blade and be an archer. I think I'm asking for too much ;)

Storming the Kvatch castle at the moment and those bloody daedra I giving me the shits X(

oh man, today has been a write off hahah

I was a battle mage too. awesome shit, especially when you get a staff! you gotta join the mages guild and just about finish the guild quests for that.

Kvatch was fun, make sure you sharpen your swords and mend your armor and have a projectile spell hand :)

oh, if you have not figured it out already, when you walk, keep casting spells. i usually walk and heal at the same time, this raises the strength of the spell :) also, jumping when walking increases your acrobatics, which does come in handy :) I find an empty room, go to the corner, jam the run forward and jump keys down and then go to sleep hehehehe

Thanks for the tips bro I'll definitely be doing that. yeah I should have been more prepared before I went in. When I get to the next stage of the quest I'll backtrack to town and get some potions and better stuff and see how I go.

This game is way addicting. Beats smack though ;) (money wise).

Thats cool. I would like to see someone make a MMORPG based on my local neighbourhood

I think it would be better than really going out there

You could kill your neighbours with the lawnmower [in the game] and not have to suffer any real life consequences.

So I was just looking at this:

http://www.myshopping.com.au/PR--156200_Halo_3_Game_Xbox

It compares the prices of Halo 3 (for Xbox 360) from 5 sources. The cheapest one on there is a "US version" of the game.

It says shipping is free and when you click through to the link for that source http://global.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/code-w/section-games/pid-1004621886/, you can see that it is in fact Australian dollars that it is listed in.

I'm just wondering about compatibility issues. Will this work on my Xbox 360, that I purchased in Australia? Will it be in NTSC colour or is there an option of PAL?

If any of you cunts still play venerable starcraft (namely brood war), feel free to give me a heads up and entertain me temporarily.

<3

Don't have Starcraft sorry MoeBro :( Starcraft 2 is on it's way. Looking forward to getting thst.

And Cosmic Charlie... dude that Cabal Online looks awesome! Thanks for posting that. I'm going to check it out tomorrow :)
