Always wanted to do the autobahn. Just come back from France where they are getting a bit funny about driving really fast!

There's no better time than that <3

We're already looking at a trip to India & Nepal in about 3 years time, which'll come round sooner than expected, I'm sure :)
 
Where abouts in Hungary are you going Jude?

Shall hopefully be visiting Budapest in a couple of weeks time. Looks like a nice place and apparently some really interesting and cool Soviet era buildings, museums and monuments etc. There's a place called statue park where all the old soviet / communist 'icons' are situated, Marx, Lenin etc. I'd like to see that. :)

India and Nepal sounds excellent as well Fishy. I'm jealous. Will you be taking a camera this time?
 
Why are we talking about my trip in the camera thread and not the travel one? :D

Cold drink at end of day is great but no need to go and get drunk like. I've sworn that I'll never ever get drunk again. Been 5ish months now. :)
 
I just did a 2 and a bit week holiday..would usually have been proper drunk most night, but now we've got a baby i didn't get pissed once. Maybe haklf a bottle of wine and a few beers every day, but nothing large. And didn't miss it once.

However i know i'll get pissed again. Tonight. :)

I had a drink most days on my holiday. In HK & Oz would have maybe 4 bottles of Strongbow throughout the day and evening and then in Bali usually 3 or 4 vodka oranges but I never got drunk thankfully.

Going to my mates tomorrow he has loads of Strongbow he doesn't want and has donated to me. I'll need to show some will power I think. :)

heh, that sounds like fun!

i wouldn't get too excited about the autobahns though, they're not much fun. the germans are very aggressive on there and you'll have a porsche or a merc right up your arse every 5 seconds, demanding you move over.

spade: when are you leaving and where are you going?
 
I'm leaving the 26th and I'm going to Rome. :)

Still haven't got my rucksack, got a text today saying it's ready for collection so I'll go pick it up Sunday or Monday.

The one I wanted was out of stock so they've ordered it in. £20 for a 35 litre, bargain!
 
Can't remember tbh.

They only really become useful when carrying a heavy load. Last year at T in the P I had all my gear plus 18 tins of Strongbow in a rucksack, those straps came in handy and made the whole thing a peice of piss to carry. :)

My bags going to contain just clothes, it won't be very heavy. :)

true, true! we were cruising at 100 on the motorbikes, which made them more intimidating. it would be a different story in the car...
 
Should I go on a journey to Tesco to buy something for dinner tonight? I can't really be fucked but I'm bored here.

It's such a shit day. I hate when it's all dull and threatning to rain but it's summer time so it's not cold or fuck all. If you wear suitable rain attire like a jacket you're too hot when walking about but if you don't it's guarenteed to piss down and you get soaked.

Not as simple as that though is it? :p

Need cash. My dad talked about going at Xmas but not sure whether the weather is OK or not at that time of year.

We shall see.

You can do anything if you really want to ;)

Spent a lovely Christmas is Kerala several years back but if I was headed out that way for only a few weeks, I'd suggest Sri Lanka instead - save India for when you've months to enjoy it :)
