Worse today :(

Post on the vBulletin forum? They obviously would be able to help the most since, ya know, bl is vBulletin.

Yeah but in regards to the servers, that sucks :/ its been worse today too, you guys should make a thread asking for opinions on how to reduce the traffic from lurkers, let the whole community try to help solve the problem

That's just because I'm sexy and you know it.

I know no one will listen to me but you can set the maximum load before that message/error appears in the vB control panel. It has nothing to do with actual bandwidth/transfer capabilities or anything, it's a fixed setting and if you upgrade your host to allow more bandwidth, then you should also increase the maximum load/connections to allocate that correctly.

traffic is up. It's not up dramatically, but maybe it had been hovering close to saturation for a while.
 
I blame myspace for taking down their forum board, and young people not wanting to friend their mom on facebook.

gosh, bluelight - if you weren't so pretty and popular you wouldn't have this problem! ;)

(you guys are all the bomb dot com, no worries or criticism here, just wanted to let somebody know it was happening. but I'm sure you already knew.)

Not sure if it's just me but lately I'm getting a lot of:

Bluelight Message
The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.

Only a minor annoyance, but is there anything that can be done about it?

Thanks to whatever mod merged my post - wasn't aware of this thread.

I've not fully read the thread, is this a problem/solution or a niggle/live-with-it kinda thing?

Obviously not going to put me off of BL but it's just a tad annoying!
 
^ It's a global issue so both regular members and staff see the same thing if the server load spikes too high. I can't really offer much beyond this, aside from saying administration is aware of this and doing what they can.
 
It does this to me alot this evening too.

I dont know what is going on but the problem is getting severe, 9 time on 10 when I click on a button I get the message... Is bluelight attacked or the server cant support all the content on the site ?

Happens occasionally to me as well... Just wait it out, nothing you can do about it really.
 
My favorite is when ive typed a big long comment and click the button and get STBTAL... Seems to happen to me a couple times a week for the past couple weeks... Rarely ever seen it prior however.

The forum is impossible to use during the middle of the day. I just can't do anything because the server is busy. They must be sharing a server.

This forum is large and busy and needs a decent size dedicated server.

Edit: It happens multiple times and what really gets me is when you write a long post and try to post it and you get: Server is too busy please try later. over and over. later means later
