Thanks eyes-wide-open for bringing the thread neatly back ON topic
So these entities, what do you think they are ? (I guess you had better be careful in your answer and make sure you use enough ambiguous words so people don't get the idea you are trying to preach that you know the truth.)
But seriously now, just what the hell is going on with so many people from aboriginal shamans to dead heads having what they describe as entity contact in the psychedelic state of hyperspace ?
What do you intuitively feel about the beings you have perceived in these states ?
Are they real, are they in your head, what else could be going on ?
I have had these kind of encounters and at the actual time of the experience it would be hard to convince me that they were not separate autonomous sentient being living or existing somehow in a different dimension that somehow I am able to access on tryptamines and other psychedelics.
Then, the more time that elapses after the experience I tend to swing more towards the "it's all happening in my head" hypothesis.
But it's soooooo real when it's actually happening, and the mushroom says some incredible things that are so alien and different to the way my mind works it just doesn't seem possible that they were thoughts or ideas buried within my own psyche.
I also have a space open for the possibility that everything is conscious in some way, and somehow what is happening on plant based hallucinogens is that we are contacting the spirit or the essence of the consciousness of that plant, and somehow it presents itself as a being or that is how it must present itself for us to not completely lose our minds.
I took Mckennas challenge and asked the mushroom to show me more of what it actually was to itself, and like Mckenna i lasted about 20 seconds before everything got so strange that I got scared and pulled out of that, well begged for it to stop actually.
And like most of us I spend a shit load more time talking about psychedelics than I do actually taking them in high doses, and as Mojave Dan used to say "If you want opinions about dogs ask people, if you really want to know about dogs ask a dog". So the answer s may lie in hyperspace and all I need is the courage to make a deeper investigation. Sounds easy when your straight, but anyone who's knees don't tremble before taking a substance haven't taken enough or gotten anywhere close to the places I'm talking about.
