The Official NFL 2005 Season Thread

kudos to the Eagles for standing up to TO. insubordination, fighting with players, and being a malicious showboat has no place in NFL. it's something that is ripping up the NBA, and it's encouraging to see football teams not tolerating it.

Im just done hearing about it... I think we all got the point about whats going on, it doesnt have to take over every single segment on tv or radio.

a) i wouldn't bother putting too much stock in whatever the media is saying about TO - in fact i'd ignore them entirely.
b) the eagles organization looks particularly bad because (at least this time) TO is right; they do much better when they get the ball to him, with hindsight it's now pretty easy to say mcnabb probably should have had surgery at the end of the season, and cmon - would it really have been such a big deal to note his 100th TD on the jumbotron?
c) until the eagles defense starts earning their paychecks anything that you hear about TO being a reason for the eagles difficulties means whoever said it doesn't know what the hell they're talking about. the guy is open constantly.

Give me a break michael. We finally disagree on TO here. All I'll ask is....how can you defend him fighting his teammates now? Fighting like fist throwing. Give me a fucking break. The guy has issues.

I honestly hate the guy now.

i didn't. however i think it's pretty odd hugh douglas gets a free pass for his actions. for anything else i can defend him because i bothered to look at it objectively, unlike 95% of people in this situation.

T.O is sitting at home every night watching sports center, with a huge grin on his face.

Hell, everyone knows his name so well, he should just quit football and become a gangsta rappa! Seriously.

has the stupidity reached critical mass yet?

(probably not)

Ralph Nader, onetime presidential candidate and consumer advocate, has asked Eagles CEO Jeffrey Lurie and NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue to reconsider Terrell Owens' suspension.
In a letter to the football officials dated Nov. 10, Nader called Owens' comments boorish, but defended the receiver's right to speak.

"If the Eagles management declines to remedy its mistake, commissioner Tagliabue, you should intervene to overturn the team's decision, which dishonors this country's traditional respect for free speech and cheats fans of an opportunity to see arguably the best receiver in football.

"Let him play."

Nader signed the letter as founder of League of Fans, which he describes as a sports reform project.

"Fans have purchased tickets for Eagles' games, in Philadelphia and elsewhere, on the assumption that they will see one of the game's most exciting receivers, so long as he is healthy enough to play. The Eagles' action denies them this opportunity."

Not to deter from the lesbo cheerleader bukakke gangbang fest OR the T.O. debacle but, I thought the Colts played pretty well on Monday night!! Not perfect, but certainly the more dominant of the two teams. Up next: Houston, at Cincy, Steelers, Titans, at Jacksonville, San Diego, AT Seattle. Finally some good teams!!! Let's see how the Colts stack up against some meatier opponents.

ps. I have 5th row seats in the endzone for the Monday-Nighter against Pittsburgh.=D

yeah, they did play pretty good with two exceptions: a rookie lineman managed to make freeney disappear completely and the only time the pats got any kind of real pressure on peyton he threw an easy pick.

i actually thought it was going to be a much closer game at the beginning.

^ yeah as a Steelers fan I am worried about their game tonight against the Browns. the Browns are not a good team this year and the Steelers should easily roll over them. BUT - Roethlisburger is out again. the third string QB, Charlie Batch, will start for only his second time ever after his first start against Green Bay last weekend. the top two running backs are also out - Jerome Bettis and Willie Parker. the third string RB is starting - which isn't such a bad thing considering it is Duce Staley.

also Steelers star OLB James Farrior is out for this game. the offense is going to struggle but I think the defense will pick up the slack and win the game like they did last week against Green Bay. to beat the Browns tonight, however, I think the Steelers are going to have to pull off another defensive touchdown like they did against Green Bay.

due to the massive Steelers injuries - this game is going to be close! and Pitt cannot afford to lose this one because the Bengals are putting on the pressure with their wins in the league. go Steelers!

not to buy into either side of the debate, but I think it's sad TO is likely to miss the rest of the season. He's an incredible athlete. Yes, he's a dickwad, but he IS (was) a big part of the Eagles offense...and I'm very much looking forward to the Cowboys kicking their asses come tomorrow night, Reggie Brown hasn't got shit

anyone else as stoked for the Cincy-Indy game Sunday?

The top two QB's in the AFC going against each other...I think this could actually come down to which defense-not offense- makes the big play.

And looking at stats halfway thru the season, I would give the edge to the Bengals. Plus the weather is supposed to be chilly, rain, and chance of snow- PM's track record in bad weather is awful.

who dey who dey who dey think gonna beat them bengals?

Totally agree with you there.

Too bad the weather was perfect. When did you check your forcast? Tuesday?

who dey who dey who dey think gonna beat them bengals?

I do. And dey did!

You were 1/3 right at least. :)

Once again, I have fifth row seats to Monday Night's Game. =D I'll take pictures!! You'll see!

Indy Perfect Regular Season: Looking Good?

Which team remaining on Indy's schedule do you guys think stands the best chance of taking them out?

The only 3 bona fide shots I see are Jacksonville, San Diego and Seattle, with Jville and Seattle being road games. Of those 3, I'm inclined to go with San Diego as the best shot (even though they play at Indy), although Seattle could possibly get it done at home. Jacksonville I just don't see taking them out.

If I had to guess though, I'd say Indy's going undefeated in the regular season.

Stay tuned for some awesome pics I took at last night's AWESOME win over the Steelers. You won't believe how close I was. Check back later this afternoon, go Colts!

I think the jags have the best shot. The jags ALWAYS play the colts tough. Seattle, I still don't think have really been tested. And the chargers.... lord knows how good they really are. It seems like they play a playoff team every week. Their schedule is ridiculous. We shall see... article I saw today on fantasyfootballcafe.com said in an interview, dungy said he will sit the three headed monster once home field advantage is locked.

my pick would be Seatle. only because it's in Seatle. i like what the crowd did to the giants. that was a great game. i probably would have said Jacksonville, but the lost Leftwich.
