the official 2010 NFL thread!

Great year to be a Rams fan. The only competitive game was against the only team the Lions have beat over the past ~20 games.

so is the New York Giants VS the New Orleans Saints shaping up to be a precursor to the NFC Championship (disregarding Minn, for the moment)?

I'll take the Saints. the Giants haven't really played that many impressive opponents.

My top 10 for week 5:

1. Colts
2. Giants
3. Saints
4. Vikings
5. Bears
6. Ravens
7. Bengals
8. Steelers
9. Broncos
10. Falcons

I can't believe I'm putting the Bungles in a top 10. Ugh.

umm you know Cincy beat Baltimore in Baltimore and has a better record right?

I'm really sick of the romo haters. He hasn't won a big game yet, but the cowboys have the number 1 ranked offense in the NFL. Check it yourself. 90% of the teams problems are defense and special teams.

They beat the Ravens because of 2 dumb 15 yard penalties by the Ravens' D on that last drive. Just wait until the second game vs Pittsburgh and see how well they do with a healthy Troy Polamalu in the game.

Yeah well I think mental toughness is part of the equation too. If you can't handle the pressure and you commit dumb penalties late, you aren't very good.

And I would takr Cincy's D over anyone else in the league, even Pittsburgh.

Cincy's D is good, but I you have to take Pittsburgh's (when they are all healthy). it will be great to have Troy back but we lost another stud in our defensive end, who is out for the year :( injuries play an integral part in pro football.

I put Baltimore in front of Cincy because I still think that they are the better football team. who knows? don't be too offended, those are just my rankings. I'm a nobody :)

Ugh, dont like the loss of Smith.

Agreed. I'd probably rank the Saints #1 in the League right now. The Colts might have shown to be more consistent so far, but jesus, the Saints offense is just ridiculous. They really are on a whole other level than everyone else this year.

And lol @ the Pats 59-0 win over the Titans. What do you even say as a Coach in the Locker room after something like that? I'm not sure which is crazier, that blowout score or the fact that the Titans are 0-6.

agreed about the saints offense. drew brees has an incredible arm. with the combo of shockey and colston, they get perfect passes and make some amazing catches. you can't get bored watching the saints.

what an awful game last night
Mark Sanchez is definitely not what i made him out to be, yes call me an angry NY fan but wtf was that
did any one see that field goal attempt?!? OMG i almost through my beer at my tv, and what about all those AWFUL passes!!!
wtf happened???
im surprised the score was what it was

I'm surprised the football gods let the bills win. I was sure that ridiculous call of "Incomplete Pass" to Lee Evens(Who made an amazing legal catch) right before the Bills made that field goal gave the Jets the game.

I was also amazed that you can tap a quarterback with your pinky finger after he's down and get a roughing the passer call, but when the Jets folded Trent Edwards body in half and then twisted his head around like a beer bottle cap there was no penalty.

that was a GREAT call. evans bobbled the ball, by the time he got control of it, he didn't get two feet in, you could see the ball hit his hands then bounce up into his chest. it was a close close call, but i think they made the right call. that said, i was happy that lindell got the chance to redeem himself. that whole "wide right" thing is getting fucking old. they said it when he missed the game winning field goal, so it's only right that he got to get one up on them by making the next one in OT.

i dunno, i just watched that catch on youtube. i guess you can say it was a fair call, ill give you that BUT to me the Jets should have fucking won DAMMIT

Sanchez better redeem himself or i quit!

The Jets' honeymoon with Sanchez is probably over.

The Bungles, well.....hope no one got comfortable on that train. :p

The Vikes are getting battle tested early in the season. That should bode well for them in the playoffs but not when they travel to Heinz Field! %)
