the official 2010 NFL thread!

that was a GREAT call. evans bobbled the ball, by the time he got control of it, he didn't get two feet in, you could see the ball hit his hands then bounce up into his chest.

You're smoking crack. The ball didn't move sideways, up, or down, as he was pulling it into his chest. The ball was in his control the entire time.

I wouldn't give up on Sanchez just yet, ladyinthesky. I am a supporter of his, I think he is a very good QB and he is going to be a great pro QB. he just got off to a hot start, his rookie ways are going to show in his rookie year (remember, he should still be playing for USC right about now which is scary to think about). very rarely does a QB shine throughout his whole season as a rookie (the only exceptions in the last 5 or so years is Ben Roethlisberger, and last year was crazy with Joe Flacco and Matt Ryan).

Sanchez is lucky, because he has a great head coach and is surrounded by a great defense and a decent enough O-line. as I said at the beginning of this thread with my team-by-team preseason analysis - the Jets will be a great team... just not this year.

how exciting is the AFC North looking right now? it is hard to believe that the Ravens are now 3-3, after losing close to a couple of good teams. the Bengals are tied with the Steelers (but have the tiebreaker). the Steelers have been winning ugly, but wins are wins. they need to take advantage of Cincinnati losing to a lesser Texans team, and take the lead.

all three of these teams are good, the Bengals, the Ravens, and the Steelers. the thought of any one of these teams missing the playoffs, at least in this point of the season, makes this football fan shocked, but excited for the rest of the season.

Broncos and Chargers tonight... I got the Broncos in the BL NFL Pick Em. but I could easily see San Diego winning at home. you just never know with the Chargers....

The Chargers are going to run the Broncos off the fucking field tonight.

I CANNOT believe the line is only 3 1/2.

I hope I'm wrong, as I am NOT wagering, and I like the story of Denver going 6-0, but realistically, I see San Diego scoring at will all game long tonight:

DENVER 17
SAN DIEGO 34

wrong! the ball hit his hands, then there was a slight bobble where the ball was not touching his hands and was not on his chest (ie, it was momentarily suspended in air AFTER initially hitting his hands). he pulled it in AFTER that bobble, but the two feet he got down before going out of bounds was DURING that bobble. it was slight, but it was there. i don't care what anyone says, that was a good call.

will someone please explain to me how the fuck the broncos are 6-0?

they have a pretty good young coach who is from that Belicheck school of coaching style. last year, the Broncos were almost dead last in the league with overall defense. this year, they are number one - due to again good coaching and the fact that 85 percent of their starting defense are new personnel whom they brought in.

everybody doomed the Broncos once they got rid of Jay Cutler for Kyle Orton. Jay Cutler obviously was a bad fit for the head coach and the way the new organization was heading, and it appears Kyle Orton's "take care of the ball" philosophy on offense is paying two-fold. add in the fact that Brandon Marshall is a huge, gifted receiver and pepper in the fact that Knowshown Moreno is being used a lot and it having a good rookie year - and these are much of the reasons the Broncos are good.

plus, their schedule hasn't been brutally tough. they got lucky in the season opener against Cin, and their most difficult opponent has been an above average Patriots team.

as with all teams in the NFL, we truly see if they are contenders come December :)

And my top 10 for this week:

1. Saints
2. Colts
3. Vikings
4. Falcons
5. Patsies
6. NY Giants
7. Steelers
8. Eagles
9. Ravens
10. Broncos

I'm still not convinced of the Broncos. They are in a weak division and their best win came over the Pats who just pummeled a surprisingly bad Titans team.

Who would love to see an Indy/Saints game? =D

saints!

saints!

holy crap they are doing awesome

Dude - they're not DOING awesome - they ARE awesome.

It's rare when a team can score pretty much whenever they want to - the Niners of the Mid 90's, and the Rams of the Martz era spring to mind - and when that shit happens, it's ALMOST impossible to lose.

I forecast a 13-3 finish with the #1 seed.

Two home wins, and the sports city CP3 initially revived can find itself in the Super Bowl.

Fear only Minnesota.

Believe.

I've got the Faith. It's about time my city had a winning team. They trailed today behind the Dolphins and then came back and scored 30 points in the second half.

Saints <3 undefeated!

I think they showed everyone today what a good team they are and Miami is not as bad as their record indicates.
