im thinking Dallas vs chicago finals
^ yes, in the context of Dirk nearly having lost his entire mind the last time Dallas was on the brink of winning a title, up 2-0 prior to collapsing and losing to a Wade-led heat team.
Let's do a little informal poll here - who thinks Dallas will win this WCF series?
Who votes for experience?
Who votes for youth and athleticism?
First off, where did I use the word inability (politely ignoring the hopefully unintended double negative)? I used 'relative accuracy'. If you're claiming he's clutch, all I wanted to see is his statistics in late-game situations compared to people who are generally considered clutch... its been a while since I've seen them, but when I did they were laughable compared to Kobe, MJ, etc
What is my definition exactly? That "clutch" is the ability to closeout close games? I don't think I made this one up and if someone doesn't have the opportunity to be clutch, you determine their clutch-ness based on past performance (which again, statistically is abysmal) and its not negatively influenced by lack of opportunity.
If you don't want to focus on late game heroics then don't call him clutch. its really rather simple. That's what the term means, big guy. Just because you re-define the term doesn't mean the way it's typically used applies.
People consider Obama a Nigerian-born terrorist, I'm not sure what relevance that has to this discussion either. I didn't know these mysterious "people" you've consulted with determine the "clutch" list solely on 100% accuracy of buzzer beaters (which would be a list of ZERO).
I'm not sure if you're lumping me in with these "people" but the logic you're attributing to me certainly isn't mine.
I've done a lot of tutoring so if you'd like help reviewing definitions such as 'clutch' or 'logic' I'd be happy to set something up.
EDIT:
THANK you number jumble for adding something real to this.
