the official 10-11 NBA thread ver. LIKE A BOSH

Barkley might've dun fucked his career. It's turrible. Just turrible.

I think it was about as mild a response as could be expected considering the circumstances.

Super classy fans you got out there in Miami though.

Barkley's career is far from over. who likes the Miami Heat? mostly only Miami fans. Miami is the team to hate, due to their preseason douche-baggery

I was just looking for an opportunity to impersonate Barkley. Given, I think it should have seen a little play time on ESPN, I don't really think he deserved to get fired.

But the dude keeps hating. His picture is right by the definition of hater in the dictionary. I can see why it antagonizes some Miami fans to lose their class, especially as our team has been unfairly viewed as the douchebags of the world, in large part because of his haterism when the shit went down.

I can't wait for the media to chalk up this loss on Westbrook, when it should be on Scott Brooks and his coaching staff. A bunch of his plays relu on James Harden being a playmaker (lol), Harden gets fouled out and they commence with the "Lets give Durant the ball behind the 3pt line and let him get trapped, run no action off the ball, then pass it to Westbrook at the top of the key on the other side and let him panic around and toss up a junk shot or hope for a foul." Rinse Repeat.

Brooks is the most overrated coach in the NBA.

A Dirka Dirka.

Dirk was amazing tonight man, hit some unreal shots. Grats on the W, I think you'll close this one out @ home.

is it me or do the OKC fans always look like they're at a revival

singing I'VE BEEN REDEEMED and waving their bibles in the air and all that?

Shaw will not be the Lakers coach next year. Great news, that means we are addressing the PG issue and we get to run some modern offensive sets.

Man, the NBA needs more game 4s. Next year the NBA needs to only play game 4s. 82 game 4s per team. Then the finals. All game 4s as well. Except game 7. That will be a game 5.

Well, D-Rose can't do it alone. Bulls fans should be happy they made it this far.

LeBron with the clutch turnover in regulation, but made up for it with that clutch mid-range j.
Both Wade and James played some AMAZING defense in the 4th and OT. So fun to watch.

Anyone think picking up Boozer might have been a really dumb move by The Bulls?

Seriously, guy does not fit on that team. He has nice stats in these playoffs, but does not match the defensive intensity expected of a Thibs team. I think they got caught up so much in all of the bullshit surrounding big name free agents that they just signed somebody for the fuck of it, forgetting the identity they were aiming for.

Only thing missing is TNT being banned from broadcasting sports ever again.

ESPN carried the Dallas-OKC overtime with no commercial interruptions. TNT inserted about 20 minutes of commercials into a 5 minute overtime period. It's laborious to watch.

What is the point of the INSIDE TRAX segments? Do basketball coaches really occupy timeouts by telling their players, "We gotta step it up! We gotta play defense! We gotta force turnovers! We gotta secure the rebound! We gotta protect the paint!" Why do the world's best players need to be told these things?

You're absolutely right. The bulls were successful this season because no other teams outside of miami had a 6'8 monster who could legitimately guard (possibly) the fastest PG in the league but they just suffocated Rose last night and the bulls couldn't do shit about it and couldn't create offense elsewhere.

Its hard to say but I see both sides of this. The bulls needed someone who could drop 20ppg and can create his own shots to draw defensive big men away from Rose but Boozer certainly has weaknesses. With Deng, Noah, Asik, Thomas and Gibson's defense this was rarely a problem during the season but the weakness is exploited by Miami by having Bosh out there alongside multiple players who can effectively penetrate.

It'd be nice for the bulls to still have that cap space but there's no guarantee they'd get a better option and although they did pretty well while he was out, its really difficult to determine how they would've fared overall this year without him.

They still have a defensive identity but if they just played Gibson, they'd be slacking even more offensively and that would only compound the problems they faced in this series getting offense outside of Rose.

^ 57% over the next 5 years but your point is well taken. That's frustrating as fuck because that's $35,000,000 over the next 5 years that'd they'd have to play with.

Is it just me or are GM's getting becoming more myopic? There is so much less emphasis on long-term development and so much on transforming the team overnight through major moves.

Kobe needed help. D Rose needs help.

The playoffs expose a team's weakness and as good as D Rose is, he cannot carry a team to the Finals. The Bulls were fortunate to be in the East where the top seeds face essentially scrub teams with sub .500 records. Unfortunately, Miami did not get upset along the way which meant the fatal flaw of Chicago would get exposed because the Heat play just as good as D as they do. The difference being that no defense can stop 3 legit NBA scorers on the same team (unless they are past their prime like Boston is or become complacent like the Lakers).

I'm neither a Heat nor a LBJ fan but the lockdown D he has been playing on D Rose in the 4th quarter of the last 3 games has been amazing to watch. D Rose will probably win a ring or 2 but it is not his time yet.

And I dont get the criticism of Boozer. He is a good complementary scorer who doesnt play very good D. We all know this. Did people really expect him to be the #2 go to guy on the Bulls? I dont believe at all that he was a plan B signing because of what Miami did. The Bulls are good but no one expected them to win 62 games with a new head coach this season. I will say this though....the Bulls are a bit more of a prettier destination now than they were last fall. I will be curious how they fix their offense in the off season.

Bulls should've never let go of Ben Gordon.

^ I've seen hundreds of Gordon games and I'm glad he's gone. He could do nothing but shoot. He was GREAT instant offense but he's a midget who can't pass or defend. If it was D-Rose and BG, they'd have the smallest starting backcourt in the league probably and Rose would be forced to guard Kobe, D-Wade, etc. like Hinrich did and exhaust himself needlessly.
