The EADD a trifle annoyed thread v. I bet that smarts a bit

Shambles: Have you looked into Plus Net?

They are a subsidiary of BT. So they have a vested interest in keeping the copper infrastructure working well, and they have always done so in my 12 years of time with them.

We've just signed up for another 12 month contract at £2.50 a month for unlimited broadband, free weekend calls, and slightly cheaper line rental charges than the rest. UK call centres who tell you the truth and know what they're talking about. No money to Branson or Murdoch. I'd be very surprised if they don't offer service in your locale.
 
My mate used to work at Plusnet's call centre in Sheffield. After two or three years he was earning well over 20k as a customer service advisor. Not bad for an entry level call centre position.

It just goes to show that if you look after your staff, they'll do their best to look after your customers.
 
Innit. And you don't see Plus Net sales executive wannabees crowding our malls and supermarkets either. As soon as you say the words "Plus Net" to a Talk Talk/Sky/Virgin droid they just look past you to the next mug cos they know they can't do a fucking thing to take your money.

Total no-brainer. :)
 
I remember one night, a few years ago, I was sitting watching Watchdog and it was talking about door-to-door salesmen mis-selling LOVEFiLM subscriptions. Just as the segment finished, one of them came to the door and tried to wow me by showing me his iPad (still quite a novelty in 2011). I let him do half of his pitch and then interrupted him to tell him what I was watching. The look on the poor wee bastard's face.

The suit he was wearing was so shiny that it looked to laminated. He was also so camp that he probably shat tent pegs :p
 
They're more to be pitied than scolded. Just trying to earn a crust as best they can, it's not their fault.

The worst I'll do with them is ask if they're willing to talk about Jesus first. Well, I'm gonna do that some day. :\
 
I pity the ones that aren't very good at what they're doing. Some of them make quite the nice little bundle from commission though.

I'm a trifled annoyed that plasters don't stick. They say wash your hands, ok you use waterproof plaster - but those bastards don't stick either :|

I have a few kitchen knife wounds :\ I also piss and wash me paws :X
