I am partial to just about any but right now I would pay through the nose for a wheel of some unsmoked Provolone. Fave? Real sheep Feta, that is the tops for sure.
Sadly, SE Asians almost always lack the enzyme needed to digest dairy, hence the lack of dairy products in China, Japan, etc. This is not known by many people, even SE Asians. Filipinos, which are actually many dozens of different ethnicities, usually fare a tad bit better in this way but are not really anything at all like Westernes.
So...despite people like us having tonsof cattle, there is no dairy here. You can head to cities like Davao, 6 hours south of me, and buy it in import markets like "Swiss Market," but it is low quality, imported from Autralia almost always, and aside from one sharp cheddar extremely expsneive. 10 ounces is about 6 US right now. At least now I can get milk by buying the Nestle boxed milk, irradiated for shel life. Before that it was only powdered milk which I will not go near.
Got alot of goats too, i should start my own dairy line for expats. Think I will consider it!
