The Cheese Thread

I can confirm that this is indeed an excellent cheese, along with its sister product Green Bomber, which is a garlicky/herby affair.

Always get this when surfing round Abersoch but I believe it is also available outside of Wales.

I live not far from Abersoch... never actually been there though :\

Not tried the green one yet either, in fact I think I still have the black one in the fridge - got superceded by birthday cheese. Should be nice and mature by now :D

Edde: I was the same with manky blue cheese for years, and then someone introduced me to the joys of Stilton and Port. Am rather fond of the blues now - not the ones that taste like eating soap though :|

The soft goats cheese I bought from the Tesco deli counter is the business.

Brocolli and goats cheese soup with some nutmeg. Mmmm.

If I'm serious about this gluten free diet apparently can't eat some cheeses such as stilton! Fuck! :(

Give it up, Spade. You cannot fight the force of cheese. I should know.

What's your reasoning behind giving it up anyway?.

I mentioned it in the what are you muching thread but I may as well repeat it (I'm good at that apparently :D) it's because apparently gluten can fog / cloud the brain, affect cognitive functions, fuck up your stoumach, keep you awake at night. All things I have problems with so just testing out the theory. As of tomorrow.

Going to be really difficult though as I'm not in total control of what I'm eating right now, often served stuff for dinner without asking whether I want it. Tonights pizza being an example - glutentastic! Not enough cash to be cooking for myself either! :(

P.S.
Cheese is good!

Ah, OK.

But why not wait and try out your experiment when you have cash to do a weeks worth of food shopping. You'll have far too many temptations this week otherwise. Just a thought.

Well I'll see how I go in the next week or so, even if I cut down it'll be good. Recently been eating a load of bread. Mmmm bread.

Well, if you think you can handle it. You sound very weak to me though, Spade. WEAK WEAK WEAK. Just messing. ;)

I'm sure you'll keep us updated with your progress.

Weak? I gave up drink for 4 months and didn't touch drugs for a year until that brief and pointless lapse a few weeks ago.

I am strong, like a bull! :D

Very self-assured there, Spade.

I hope have enough confidence to fight the urge the next time a pizza gets thrust upon you.

I'm not giving up all cheese, just ones with gluten in I guess. :\

According to my list I can still eat any aged cheese such as cheddar, swiss, edam, parmesan, cottage, creame cheese and pasturised cheese just not some veined cheeses.

I'll just need to make sure I clarify what we're having for dinner every night and whether or not I can eat it.

I actually sneeked some cheese into my mates splif at the weekend.. loved it he did :D Think he thought i was being generous with the weed.. should of known better eh!! :p

Don't think I could have named a Scottish cheese before yesterday, but amongst my bundle of Scottish Goodness nestled a tub of this here Crowdie:

Thank you so much for bumping this thread. Being quite new to this Forum this thread was, until now, unknown to me. But you have just brought up my favourite ever subject. Cheese.

I can take it or leave it to be honest.
