The Cheese Thread

product-6849791.jpg

mmm, Mexicana cheddar.. not sure if its the best cheese ever though...

I enjoyed reading all that again :D

Tee-hee! I knew if I casually dropped it in to conversation at strategic points, the long-lost cheese thread would come to rise again - it worked :D.

Most interesting cheese I have at the moment is
sendimage.php

Local made stuff - supposed to be delish. Not actually tried it yet though - will report back after research :).

Oooh there's a cheese thread :) yummy

Crowdie's lovely soft cottage cheese with a tangy flavour. Farm shops and wee rural creameries sell it here, it needs to be freshly made and eaten quick.

It's so delicious with strawberries and black pepper. Oatcakes on the side.

I used to cringe at crawling cheese when I was younger, but got very much into it over Xmas

I like Red Windsor, a cheddar with elderberry wine in which makes it a shocking pink colour. Also there's a nice one with pear liquer in which comes in the shape of a pear in a wax coating. Pretty much any blue cheese as well, and a nice soft goaty, musty cheese always goes down well too.

I am partial to just about any but right now I would pay through the nose for a wheel of some unsmoked Provolone. Fave? Real sheep Feta, that is the tops for sure.

Sadly, SE Asians almost always lack the enzyme needed to digest dairy, hence the lack of dairy products in China, Japan, etc. This is not known by many people, even SE Asians. Filipinos, which are actually many dozens of different ethnicities, usually fare a tad bit better in this way but are not really anything at all like Westernes.

So...despite people like us having tonsof cattle, there is no dairy here. You can head to cities like Davao, 6 hours south of me, and buy it in import markets like "Swiss Market," but it is low quality, imported from Autralia almost always, and aside from one sharp cheddar extremely expsneive. 10 ounces is about 6 US right now. At least now I can get milk by buying the Nestle boxed milk, irradiated for shel life. Before that it was only powdered milk which I will not go near.

Got alot of goats too, i should start my own dairy line for expats. Think I will consider it!

I can confirm that this is indeed an excellent cheese, along with its sister product Green Bomber, which is a garlicky/herby affair.

Always get this when surfing round Abersoch but I believe it is also available outside of Wales.
