Ah right, I had the complete wrong idea of what a sweet tart was for the past few years then. Anytime someone talked about it, I imagined it to look something like this:

Always thought it was highly impractical.

Kind of an overlap between this thread and the B&D Shroom thread, but my question is probably most relevant here.

What is the shelf life of a spore syringe containing solution? Will the spores be negatively impacted by storage in solution (which I'm guessing is just water?)? What about spore prints? How long do they remain viable in storage? I'm assuming the answer is "longer than spore syringes" but I'm obviously looking for a number. What is the best storage environment for a spore print? Dry, dark, low humidity desk drawer?

I'm interested in info on both, not just a couple of posts saying "The spore print would be better." I'm sure of that without asking, but curious about both.

Thanks, BL.

If its lying about on the counter, not all that long I'd guess. I bet it would still work, but at greatly reduced potency. If refrigerated I think 6mo-1year for spore syringes is fine before you might have degredation problems. Cultures on slants will last at least that long, and I'd suspect the spores would be more durable.

The prints, if stored similarly and kept dry should last quite some time. I can't give you a time, but I'd suspect a number of years.

Thanks much! I'd given up on ever seeing an answer here, so I slogged through The Shroomery. For what its worth, the answers I found there were pretty similar. Spore prints stored dark 'n' dry are said to measure their shelf life in years, and your answer for refrigerated syringes matches what I saw there. I also saw some interesting stuff about "storing" mushrooms as mycelium on agar.

My question was kind of prompted by paranoia about the current American political climate. The little "loophole" (as the Prohibitionists would see it) that keeps spores legal can't last forever.

Thanks for the response. It's good to have one here without the next person to have the same question needing to search around too hard for it.

what is the minimum amount of alcohol required to inhibit bacterial growth in a solution?

i would like to use as little as possible because it evaporates quickly and over time the solution may become progressively more concentrated without my noticing (especially if your an infrequent user and may be working with the same soln over the course of several years) also i would like to have to consume a minimal amount of alcohol given it is psychoactive in its own right.

^^ I always use 15% to 20% alcohol... 15% seems to work, but I usually go with 20% just to make sure. With something like 2C-E, I do 5-10mg per mL so I have to drink very little alcohol, and for the DOXs and the like I use 1mg/mL.

Also, you shouldn't have to worry about evaporation if you use an airtight container.

even though the container is airtight, i will be opening it periodically for a number of years...not because it will contain an enormous amount of chemical, but because it would take (most) a few years to get through 50mg of any DOx, subtle amounts of evap could throw off the dosage, but thats probably overly cautious.

Anyone know how to get the pickle smell out of a jar or am I going to have to go get new jars and stop being such a crafty son of a bitch

Nvm, got the smell out of the jar, but apparently you can't get the smell out of the lids :/

Are there dangerous combination of storing multiple drugs together. Not in the explosive way :) but for example that one substance loses its potency more rapidly... All substances are separated by zip backs though..

For example: can the smell of my hash oil damage my LSD blotter? I don't want to hide everything in 10 different places :)

^^ Your supply will be fine. If you have something like AMT that smells really bad, I would keep that separate from the others. But even if your other chemicals started to smell like AMT, they'd be fine potency-wise. And to answer your specific example, the smell of hash oil won't do anything to your blotter... except possibly make it smell nice. :)

2c-t-7 possibly went bad (storage question)

Hi there everybody :)

Okay, so I had about 220mgs of 2c-t-7 (suspended in plain tap water) stored in a plastic water bottle for I'd say, oh, about 2 months. I went to go check it out the other day, and damn... the water smelled terrible. Just like this really pungent sour smell, quite unlike what it would normally smell like. So I evaporated the water to turn it back into just the powder, and everything looked fine again, but yesterday I went to go check it out in it's new container (a black film canister) and the powder itself still faintly has that same smell.

What gives?

Did bacteria get in to it, so it's no longer good?

Did leaving it in a relatively unsealed container allow the chemical to oxidize?

Is it even alright to consume, or is it just garbage?

Does anybody here at bluelight have an idea what could have happened with the 2c-t-7?

i have a question about using desiccant to eliminate moisture, say one has large glass jar with several small glass vials containing powders within them. these powder are reasonably dry (have always had time to warm up, no/minimal condensation) always closed air tight etc. etc. considering that these chems only have about a square inch of expose surface area will the moisture diffuse from all of the material into the dessicant pounch and if you sit the pouch in with the material you loose as much sticking to the pouch as it could possibly save in moisture, right? im just wonder how to dry out an already pretty dry supply. sit the open vials in a larger jar full of derilite and then cap them quickly?

Thats good too know :) I had the exact same question on my mind.. lol

semi off-topic:

People have said that MDPV is unstable in solution (a cursory search gives me only snippets of info). It also seems that a basic PH is pretty bad news.
So, I'm wondering if people have some objective info on this.
I wonder if people with stashes of MDPV just binge, gain tolerance, and then complain about their product "losing potency". Also, might there be a good non-standard storage technique, eg distilled water, an alcohol, some non-polar solvent?

One of the people who really went off the deep end with MDPV and mentioned this problem said that his solution had changed color.
