if one had DOC in a distilled water solution for over a year (stored in the fridge), should he throw it away or would it still be good?
 
Should still be good. My own DOC solution just passed its year annirversary of being put into solution, and it's fine. I added about 20% pure ethanol, however, to prevent bacteria and contamination. But if you don't notice any molds or bateria or anything, then it should be fine, potency-wise.
 
About 5-meo-mipt-hcl, as it is HCL, will that increase its solubility? What would be the best way to store it? could i put it in 80proof vodka and expect it to stay stable?
 
This guy I know plans on receiving 100mg of DOI HCl soon. He is going to use liquid measurement and dissolve it in either 100ml or 200ml of ethanol or distilled water (therefore equalling 0.5mg/ml or 1mg/ml).

What is the best solution to dissolve it in? Should This guy I know use part distilled water? Should he use 100% pure ethanol? Or maybe an 80/20 mix of ethanol/dH2O? Please give him the best suggestion on what solvent he should use to dissolve the DOI HCl.

This guy I know is of course going to keep the solution away from air and light, but will it being in room temperature degrade the DOI? Does DOI degrade at room temperature? Please help me ASAP.

if you are going to store it then dont measure it into liquid, keep it in powder.

use everclear.

dissolve it into a visine container, if u do decide to dissove it
 
^^ I use that mixture for short- or long-term storage. While simultaneously keeping the jars sealed and in the fridge or freezer, of course.
 
is LSD/Psilocybin soluble in.......?

does anyone know if LSD or psilocybin is readily soluble in alcohol, from blotter paper or mushrooms? if i put some blotter in some vodka and left it in a cool dark place for like 1 or 2 months, would the acid be in the vodka? And for mushrooms? your input would be greatly appreciated.8(
 
Both are soluble in alcohol, yes. Quite soluble. It would take a lot less than a month to dissolve, although the longer you wait, I suppose the greater chance it will get everything.
 
The blotter would probably disolve thus leaving the LSD in the vodka (along with tiny pieces of paper). From what I understand as long as you keep LSD away from chlorine it should remain LSD-25.

I assume psilosybin is also saluble in alchohol since hot water works fine for mushroom tea, but somone else here should know for sure. (edit: well look at that. Xorkoth beat me by a minute ^_^)
 
liquid measurement devices

After I have my powder completely dissolved into solution, I need an accurate way to measure out individual doses of liquid. I read erowid's technique (calibrating a vial dropper to measure out doses by the drop) but it seems like too much room for error and just generally more work than getting a device that has been precalibrated and has measurement markings already on it.

Should/can I just get a plastic medicine dropper from the drugstore? Or should I go with something more in this range: http://www.indigo.com/glass/gphglass/pipet.html (10mL) that is glass and from a lab supplies company?

go to the pharmacy/drugstore and buy an oral syringe. Most are calibrated to at least .2ml and this makes for very accurate measurements. :)
 
Don't use a dropper (or drops in any form as a measurement device)! I'm unsure as to why Erowid suggests it, but in fact a "drop" is not at all a consistent form of measurement. You can end up with a lot of variation that way.

As isotopic_parody suggested, an oral syringe is a great thing to use - it's what I use for sure. You can go into your local pharmacy and ask for one, and they might even give it to you for free. Either that, or it's very cheap. In fact, I got an extra-nice one at my local pharmacy off the shelf for under a dollar.
 
does anyone else have trouble dissolving 2ci in distilled h2o?

I was trying to prepare a solution in a vial and I shook it for a good 30 minutes, but still was getting this foamy residue swirling around in there, which I attributed to the chemical not fully dissolving, but now I'm wondering if there could've just been some soap or something onthe inside of the vial (it was new, unwashed) that was being jostled up?

edit: i should also mention that 2ce dissolved in a similar but not same vial with no problems.
