Solubility of tryptamines (5-MeO-MiPT)

Do you think a concentration of 10mg/ml of 5-MeO-MiPT (the HCl salt) in water is possible?
I'm planning to put the solution onto something(maybe a sugarcube) so I could easily take it out of the house with me.
 
He needs to weigh it & has no scale, this is the smartest way to go about things.

I would recommend against the sugar cubes, they melt.Just use a piece of tissue and let it dry stick it in a capsule & your done.
 
Putting it on paper sounds like a good idea indeed.

Well I don't have a mg scale, but a friend of mine does, so I have to weigh it out on beforehand. First I thought about filling a few capsules with 6 mg but if I wanted to try a 9mg trip it wouldn't be accurate, I'd have to eyeball half of a capsule.
And taking liquid with me is kind of annoying, an eye dropper bottle could work but the drops aren't always the same size so...
 
I'm hopefully picking up some RCs soon, but I bought a cheap ass milligram scale on ebay. (yes i know)


Does anyone know where to get just like 5 glass vials? And what's the reccomended solute? an everclear/water mix or what?

For the vials, I'm not sure. I just happened to have a bunch of airtight small glass jars already.

I like to use a 75% distilled water and 25% everclear mix to keep it sterile. Then store the liquid in the refrigerator or somewhere else cool/cold. The distilled part is important, as you don't want anything in there from tap water that could contaminate or break it down.

I also got a bunch of vials at the local herb/holistic shop where people use them for various oil mixtures and whatnot.

Cheap-ass scales are generally OK if you are measuring fairly large quantities for dissolution in water. You will definitely want to weigh multiple times and take an average, though.

You can pick up amber glass vials anywhere that sells essential oils: head shops, body care/skin care shops, pagan or ritual shops, spas or masseurs (the ones that do aromatherapy), etc. You definitely want AMBER glass, which will help protect your material from light. Unfortunately, it may be difficult to find vials that don't have essential oils in them other than mail-order, and the essential oil smell is impossible to get out; your RCs may end up smelling like peppermint (or whatever). Not that that matters, or hurts anything.

All solvents will degrade the RC over time. Water degrades it the least, however water will go bad if it is not mixed with some ethanol. I don't know what the best ratio would be but 75:25 is probably fine...
 
you can always use a visine container or some sweet breath container.

Use an oral syringe for larger measurements, and an inslulin syringe for smaller individual measuremnets.
Phens dissolve and store alot better than tryptamines.
I avoid using liqyid measurements with tryptamines as i find they degrade quick or dont dissolve at all.

Use a mg scale to measure out a intial wieght then dissolve it in a meaured liquid amount. then use a ratio-

exmple 200ml of everclear mixed with 4 grams of 2cxxx would give you 20 mg or chemical/ 1 ml.
just remember than the solution does evaporate as it is exposed to air making it stronger as the liquid evaporates....keep it sealed and safe
 
I know this is PD but Other Drugs subforum isn't nearly as sophisticated...
A friend of mine has alprazolam (xanax) in powder form, and wants to use liquid volumetric measurement. However it seems this compound is not water soluble but is in ethanol.
Can he use vodka or will a substance like this crash out because of the water? I'm a chemist but I still don't understand when stuff precipitates...
Also please tell me if I'm right to think an alprazolam in EtOH solution is very stable???

Apparently I didn't search well enough the first time. It seems dissolving it in as highly concentrated ethanol as I can find is one way to go. It will go nicely into my friends toxic cabinet.

2C-B forms & water/ EtOH solubility

Strangely there are some discrepancies regarding 2C-B solubility... there are those who say it's generally soluble in dH2O or insoluble.
And then the distinction is made between the most common salt forms:
the supposedly nearly insoluble HCl salt and the much better soluble HBr salt.
Personally I dissolved an unknown form successfully in dH2O before, but I also do believe I have most often received the HBr form.
My question is: what to do if the form of another batch is unknown or known to be the HCl salt, will that dissolve in EtOH or vodka?
 
I believe this discrepancy is because 2C-B HBr and 2C-B HCl have different solubilities. I think both are soluble in water but one of them (the HBr I think) is not very soluble. I have used the HCl only as far as I know, and it dissolved slowly but completely to reasonable concentrations.

I am nearly positive that they will both dissolve readily in EtOH.
 
^^ Ah really? So vodka would be a great solvent for a sterile-ish 1 mg/ml concentration?
And generally if you have a substance insoluble in water but soluble in ethanol, for every different such compound there's a different alcohol% in a mixture with water where the substance will precipitate? Ah it's so logical...
 
I have lots of experience with dissolving different tryptamines and phenethylamines in both distilled water and EtOH/H2O solutions, and have had no trouble getting them into solution in their salt forms. Even if they've sometimes seemed hesitant to dissolve right away, applying a little heat and stirring well has always done the trick for me.
 
^ i mixed 4-ho-dipt with water and in two days it had turned black. test it first, just to be sure.

wish i could find that stuff again, never got to try it as i threw out the black shit.
