☛ Official ☚ The Big & Dandy Scale / Balance Thread - Part 2.000±

I bought a Acculab VICON 123 a while back and it seems excellent. Does 0.001g ; now just need to get some paper weighing boats!

Wow, I looked up the specs and price. My Acculab PP2060D has been accurate reliable for several years, but I'm putting the VICON 123 on my wish list.

Can't beat Acculab for price performance in my book. No I'm not a sales rep.

Thanks Prea.

I just found another cheap scale that I lost somewhere. It can measure up to 150 mg.
Also ordered weights because I don't know if it's accurate anymore.
I will use the Gempro for be super accurate. The cheap scale will be used for liquid measuring.

Weights I ordered:
1 x 100 gr.
1 x 50 gr.
2 x 20 gr.
1 x 10 gr.
1 x 5 gr.
2 x 2 gr.
1 x 1 gr.
1 x 500 mg.
2 x 200 mg.
1 x 100 mg.
1 x 50 mg.
2 x 20 mg.
1 x 10 mg.
1 x 5 mg.
2 x 2 mg.
1 x 1 mg.

I got a laboratory scale that cost around 250$ if I calculate it right but it's +/- 0.005 grams. My thought was that it's better to get a less precise scale of good quality so you can actually trust the readings than a cheap jewel/diamond scale (+/- 0.001 gr) that can't be trusted. I like mine fine but I still feel a bit screwed. It's nice that it has a big steady plateau and a big wind protective house around it, but I know plenty guys that have a cheap machine that seems to work allright even at the lower end weights.
Ugh.

I have an AWS DIA-10. $30 off ebay; works like a charm even at small weights. It takes some getting used to, getting a feel for what's really going on inside the scale, but I have a good connection with mine and know when it's on and when it's off.

I weigh my stuff out by weighing the gelcap, and then putting powder in the gelcap and weighing them together to figure out how much is in it. The gelcap weight (by itself) never fluctuates more than +/- .001g, and measured doses I've had seem to match what that dose intensity should be (so in other words it seems perfectly accurate as far as I can tell).

I do the exact same method of weighing. The effects from the dosage weighed match up well. Perfectly accurate as far as I can tell as well. :)

I think my DIA-10 has become quite a bit more than -/+ 1mg inaccurate with use..

Yeah I regret my purchase, I could have done a hell of a lot better than a 150g x 0.005 mg
scale for like 160 E.
The thing looks cool and does the job, but I had to send it back 1 time previously to fix it (good service, all happened in Holland) still it's too pricey, I don't need this...

Oh well :)

I actually think mine's gotten better with use; as if it's been broken in. The numbers are more stable and don't move around as much as they used to when I first got it. Either it's been broken in or I've gotten better tuned into how to use it properly.

Maybe your scale has a 4 month stabilizing period ;)
Anyway my apparatus is sitting on a piece of furniture I built myself but it is also hosting
my keyboard and computer among other things...
I have to be pretty careful when I'm handling this thing, though there is a calibration indicator
telling me if it's level and I can change the heighth of each 'leg'... mmmmyep

It would probably be alright for 2ci, 2cc, and other things where it doesn't matter if you're off my a little bit. I probably wouldn't want to use it for 2ce though.

or just buy a 100mg weight to to be sure it's really 100 mg. then you can use the liquid dosage method (like 100ml/100mg). i don't trust those cheap scales for 1 second.

i found this cheap scale

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10515

can be used for 2c'x? is accurate?

Ok they sell these on e-bay as well from China but my friend needs a cheap scale acurate to .001g and asked me to help him out and the cheapest is this one and the AW DAI-10 from amazon.

Now one comes from china on e-bay and takes alot longer to ship and the other amazon and takes only 3-5 days so it comes down to perfromance I see many have purchased that cheapo from China and was wondering is it better then the AW DAI-10???

Another thing is the one off e-bay from china looks like the Gemini-20 but its not obviously a rip off product yes???

I actually have had both. I had the DIA-10 at first but i found its construction to be very shotty. It works well enough but the calibration function on mine broke in about a month so i decided to get a different one. I went with the one posted above because it appeared to be better quality. I would have to say it does appear to be a bit steadier and more consistent.

Both are fine for weighing out 2c-x and DMT although, like someone else mentioned, I tend to use liquid measurement for something like 2c-e to know exactly how much i'm taking since it has a notorious dose response curve.

Holy crap. 18$ ???
I mean it is my new religion that my expensive scale is dumb and cheap 0,001 ones aren't half as bad as you would think but 18$ just seems like it couldn't possibly be quality material.
Something like the aforementioned Acculab approaches 300$ !!! Ok maybe you have to find the right place but that is like an astronomical price gap. I'd get a place that you think is not pulling your leg and has a 0,001 scale that is not utterly unknown to the world for about 50 -70 or so bucks.
That's what I would do now. I got one from domestic grounds because I didn't have a creditcard before - now I know better.

I realize it is cheap and the construction of it does feel kinda flimsy but it really does work. I have one myself and feel very comfortable weighing things down to 10-12mg. Just make sure you store it in it's padded case and take good care of it; it doesn't feel like the most solidly built thing in the world.

Hmm well in that case you might as well order 3 or 4 for that price... in my case the shipping fee could very well be larger than the scale and that way you have spares for when they drop dead like a squatted fly.
Hey didn't I ever read about being able to make like a 0,1 mg (yes!) or even 0,01 mg scale yourself with a less accurate one and some nifty craftsmanship?
I suppose you would use a big lever mechanism.

Are there scales, preferably "inexpensive," that not only weight grams accurately (Cannabis, Mushrooms, ect.) but also weigh in mg accurately (for RC's, Molly, etc.) to make it more convenient and so you don't need two separate scales?
