you may be able to pick up an old Mettler or Sartorius for cheap at LabX or on eBay. I've never had any problem with the Tanita, though.
 
Calibrating an AWS DIA-10 Scale

Hey guys,
so I have an AWS DIA-10 .001g Scale, http://www.wholesale-scales.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=46
unfortunately however, I threw out the directions a week ago, which had directions on how to calibrate it.

I remember the first step, (to turn the scale off, then press and hold tare for the calibrating function to come up)

Anyone else have any experience with this scale and/or know where I could find info on how to calibrate it?
 
I do this every time I fire it up I know the procedure off the top of my head:
  • With the scale off, hold the "tare" button. Hole it until all the "8888" are gone and a number comes up (usually 5.xxx).
  • Press tare again (it'll go to zero).
  • Put the 5g weight on, let stabilize and press tare; it'll go to 5.000.
  • Remove the weight, press tare again, and put the 10g weight on.
  • Press tare (it'll go to 10.000). Take the weight off, press tare again and you're good to go.

I recently bought a Dalman DIA-50 Carat Scale for £60 from a website I'd consider pretty reputable normally. Having read through this thread though I'm become unsure about whether I want to rely on it and was wondering if anyone has had any experience (either positive or negative) with it in the past? As I said, I normally trust the quality of gear I get from the site to be at least acceptable in standard, and given that they stock bongs pricing into the thousands, I wouldn't have expected their most expensive set of scales to be a piece of shit, even if it did cost only £60.

Any thoughts?

I would also like to hear what people have to say about this scale. I'm too considering buying one.
 
okay so i have some options, everything seems to be overpriced around here and i dont want to buy online (cant wait).

gempro-50: 10g x .002g for $199
i-balance 101: 100g x .005g for $197
tanita diamond master 10g x .002g $379

now obviously the tanita will be better, but I want to keep it as close to $200 as possible. I will be weighing 2c-e mostly and mdma so I don't need a 100g scale so does anyone have opinions on the gempro?
 
all three of those scales are less precise than 0.001g... which to me is a necessity when measuring RC's (especially 2c-e with it's steep dose response curve)

you can find scales in the same price range online that are accurate to 0.001g, and given the amount of money you're spending I'd say the difference is worth the wait of delivery. This is the one I got: http://www.1800scales.com/VMC-VB-302A-Balances.html and I'm very very pleased with it.

Have you tried it out yet? Are you satisfied with it? I would like to hear some thoughts on this scale as I'm considering buying soon.

How many people out there that use DOx's or dragonflys or other drugs active in the mcg or low milligram range have mcg scales? Is it necesary or do people titrate with water from milligram doses?
 
iio have the dealxtreme one on the way for 2ce will report how it is


also this is my second eyeball this one I'm trippng balls

Unless you have a scale accurate to micrograms than DOx's, dragonflies and other psychs that require a low dose or are very dose sensitive should be made into a solution and dosed out by liquid measurment.
