☛ Official ☚ The Big & Dandy Scale / Balance Thread - Part 2.000±

im just wondering what are peoples opinions on the best cheap .001 scale anywhere from 20-40 dollars
i have looked through this thread and still do not know

Any experience with VB-302A Laboratory Balance Lab Scales 60 x 0.001g

http://www.1800scales.com/VMC-VB-302A-Balances.html

I'm considering buying this, or the GemPro-250

..any thoughts?

You may have seen the one and only post referencing the VB-302A but to reiterate, they said they were very pleased with it.

I was in the exact same boat as you, considering the VB-302A or GemPro-250 but I ended up opting for the GemPro-250 as it's cheaper, I had great success toying around with my buddy's model, and there is virtually no info on the VB on bluelight. I think either would be a great choice, maybe the VB will last a bit longer? Someone mentioned their GemPro-250 lasted for about 3 years but started getting a little wonky, but there haven't been any posts about the long term reliability of the VB, so I'm just gonna take pristine care of my GemPro and hope for the best. MyWeigh offers a 30-year warranty for all models too, which is a huge bonus.

If only it will clear customs! It shoulda been here on friday or today so I'm assuming it's in postal limbo at the moment and I've got so many new goodies to dip into!

I know I've raised some flags about jewel scales that are 'too' cheap before but now I'm actually considering getting a 0.001 g unit for 20$ from Hong Kong. I wonder how accurate it can be but it comes with a calibrating weight plus I can use my big stable lab scale (0.005 g) to check it and compare readings so that I will not be using it when it's really way off. It will probably be shit around 0.000 g but with a weighing paper thatll be fine.

The purpose would be for the actual dosing of potent chemicals themselves, at the moment I use my trustworthy expensive scale and continue with volumetric measurement.
But that demands a minimum amount to be dissolved in aqueous or alcoholic solution, some compounds don't fancy that. :)

Hi, I have a question.

I live in Chile and 0.001g scales are impossible to obtain here unless you want to pay 400U$ for a professional-level one.

I just received my 2ce yesterday and I was thinking: what about buying a 0.01g scale? those are easy to get and if I want, let´s say, a 10mg dose I just have to weight 100mg (that´s 0.10 in the scale viewer right?) and then eyeball 1/10 of that amount.

E-bay takes nearly one month to ship here and I´m not willing to wait that long to receive a cheap short-lived miligramm scale.

Please help me. What should I do ? :\

Don't eyeball out 2C-E. The dose-response curve is too steep, you could end up having a very difficult trip if you accidentally eyeball a dose too big, which is very easy to do.

Phenethylamines, such as 2C-E are fairly stable so what you should do is dilute the 2C-E in a mixture of distilled water and ethanol, such as vodka. Make a mixture of 20 ml with 2/3 distilled water and 1/3 ethanol/vodka. Weigh out 100 mg of your 2C-E (that is 0.10 on your scale, yes) and dissolve the 2C-E in the liquid. You now have a solution of 5 mg 2C-E for ever 1 ml of liquid. Use a needless syringe to dose out however many mg you would like to do. 5 mg equals 1 ml, 10 mg equals 2 ml, 15 mg equals 3 ml and so forth.

Hey that sounds like a feasible way to dose accurately without risking myself into the unknown !! Thank you very much LSD !=D

a final inquiry: I can dissolve 3 ml of the solution (15 mg 2ce) into any beverage without losing any potency right ?

Just had to pay to have my parcel released from customs...
£21.42 V.A.T and a parcelforce clearance fee of £8
This was unexpected as its the first time I ordered something from abroad.

Need to vent some anger on here!!! Grrrrrr

Gempro-250 should be arriving monday though :).
Will post when I receive them and let you know what I think.

If they are broken when I receive them will I have to pay custom fees again to receive another set?

My shite £15 0.01g scales have finally died a death so I think I'll take a look at these Gempro-250s everyone seems to swear by :D.

I've got the old AWS Gemini 20 and need to calibrate it. The online manual is for the new model, which has a "CAL" key, mine does not and I can't seem to find an old manual online at the moment. I tried the procedure for the other common AWS model, DIA-10 or something similar. However that did not work at all either. If anyone knows or has a link to the old manual I'd really appreciate it.

EDIT: Nevermind. Figured it out. You just hold the on key til a solo 0 comes up, then a 10.000g is displayed. Place the 10g weight on the scale and voila!

can anyone tell me if this scale is worth it?

DigiWeigh DW-10PP

I got it in. I used it to weigh out some of the powdered vyvanse in my legal prescription tablets. It weighs the right amount perfectly. I would reccomend to any one else if looking for a good scale under 100 dollars.

A few probably common sense pieces of advice, especially when dosing out small mg doses.

Use a weight to verify that the scale is reading the weight accurately every time you use your scale. Calibrate your scale if it isn't reading accurately.

I suggest calibrating your scale often.

Re-weigh your doses a few times, and make sure you get a consistent reading.

Regardless of what scale is being used I think it is wise to calibrate often and re-weigh doses to verify accuracy.

thats why, I used a known quantity of vyvanse...

Acculab VIC-123 Zeroing vs. Calibration

Guys/Gals,

I have some 2C-E along with an Acculab VIC-123, but I do not have a calibration weight for it. My question is this: Do I need to calibrate the scale with a high quality calibration weight or can I just zero the scale? I'm a little confused between the differences of the two. I don't want to take the 2C-E unless I am sure that I am measuring the correct doses.

Thanks alot!

if the scale is calibrated improperly zeroing it won't help. I won't recommend this, but in a pinch, if you scrub a nickel clean it should weigh 5g, though some calibration weights shouldn't be hard to find. If you don't wanna wait for delivery you should be able to find some relatively easily... University or highschool chem lab...

I'll just buy a calibration weight. 2CE does not sound like it should be fucked with..you've confirmed what I suspected. Thanks

I'm wondering if the american weigh gemini-20 might be too small to weigh out doses of methylone or MDAI (100-200mg range) as the area is only 1.3" n diameter. Anyone have experience with this or similar scale? Not really worried about inaccuracy for these doses as long as there +-10mg or under. I realize that if this is the case i could just weigh smaller amounts but I would rather not.
Thanks in advance.
