The Big & Dandy Music on Dissociatives Thread

I find that dissociative can go well with whatever music you personally enjoy. I can have a good time listening to classic rock, conscious/old skool hip-hop, ska, punk, alt and grunge, even metal. Used to love dissociating and jamming some more extreme variants such as Gojira, Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, etc.

Dissociative goe much better tho IMO with electronica. PsyTrance/PsyBient is very beautiful, but I feel these are BEST on true Psychedelics. Trip hop is good on either. I've always referred to dissociatives as "darkside tripping", and my musical taste follow. Therefore, in order from good to EPIC, my fave dissociative music is prolly aggro-tech, DnB, dubstep (when done right), and industrial. I think Industrial music is made for dissociatives or perhaps vice versa. I often wonder if such artists were influenced by K. My go-to band while dissociating is KMFDM.

I second this by Vortech : "This is a hard thread because I find that almost any music I like sober I like EVEN more dissociated."

And mentioning Shpongle, I have always made it a tradition of listening to each album sober, and on (seperately) 2C-x and DXM/MXE. I prefer what 2Cs do to music over LSD or Psilocin actually.

With Museum of Consciousness, I have only thus far listened sober, and just the other night, on DXM (1g and a Roxi, but that don't chage sound for more), sadly waiting for some psychs to run that experiment. Passed the test, was AMAZING! Even sober, Shpongle kicks in my HPPD; slight mood lift, a lil tactile sensations, and minor visuals. On drugs, it increases drug effect 2-3 fold, but only while listening. Effects fade as quickly as Nitrous with music off.

Sadly, I must say that whle I LOVED this album, it was my least fave from Shpongle. However, they're worst album is better than the best album from 95%+ the artists I have listened to.

User Folley posted this in the B&D MXE thread, and after listening to it I have to copy it here, it certainly is excellent!
This is a great page for some amazing chillout/psytrance, perfect for MXE

Most of the mixes are over an hour, so plenty of time to hole and come back with bass massaging your ears the entire time

heres a single song though, so you can see what some of it is like. This has more of a reggae vibe but it's still dope

they're long mixes, good all the way through, so you don't need to worry about making a playlist.

music never sounded good on dxm. never done k proper so I cant comment. however with MXE music was EVERYTHING. me and a buddy would do MXE all night long and just lay there smoking herb when we could figure out how to do it and listening to like the more ambient part of dubstep music with a very very good stereo system. the bass seemed to lift you off the ground and vibrate through each and every molecule that my body is made of. pure bliss

Odd variations, betcha it's good on N2O as well.

Around the World in a Tea Daze by Shpongle is a personal favourite of mine, transporting me through many fascinating landscapes while on ketamine. I enjoy a lot of Spongle on ketamine, and I recall Terence McKenna lectures held a certain significance during my old MXE trips.

Anything by the Brian Jonestown Massacre. Most of their songs are too slow and whiny for the sober state of mind, but on high doses of MXE it's perfect (atleast in the beginning when you get the sedative lay-your-ass-down effects)
They've produced a whole lot of songs though, not everything is golden, but there are atleast a couple mindblowing songs on each album.
A few of my favorites:
Wisdom
She Made Me
Anemone
Here It Comes
Mansion In The Sky
Malela
Detka Detka Detka!
Panic In Babylon

Been listening to The Faint a bit,

Y'all listen to Fulcrum & Lever, bet it blows your mind.

Lyrics, though the vid has them in the description.
NSFW:
I heard a bone snap
When I was only about nine
The laws of gravitation
Were in abeyance a while
But not long
Before they taught me a lesson
In Tuffskin jeans like a Japanese Hessian
I was 70 pounds, learning to fly
I knew I couldn't do it if I didn't try
We called it the "field" where we used to hang out
A field of alfalfa behind the back of our house
With a slice of an old oak tree
And a 12 ft. plank
Put the board on top
We got flying machine
Oh my god we could teeter on this
Or make lever that could shoot me into orbital space
I'd seen the circus
And i saw how they do it
With bent knees
You got to jump like you would from a trampoline.

Strange phenomenon
Strange phenomenon

We got out the ladder
And the heaviest kid
He would climb up top
And count down like
A rocket ship
To fire me up
He'd get to t-minus zero
Before he'd jump
And i was shot high in a vertical catapult
Straight up and down
I remember the view from over top of the house
Gravity seems weak until you look down

I got in position
I had impeccable form
If the judges were present
They'd be holding up score cards
With 9's and 10's
Unless I lose a couple points
For the landing I did
I heard a loud snap but it didn't hurt
I looked at the neighbourhood
It looked like earth
But everybody's acting weird are they out of meds?
Eating a peanut butter sandwich in a hospital bed
I started noticing
Strange phenomenon
Strange phenomenon
Is this planet the same one that I been on?
Everybody's bizarre and irrational
Even nurses on the clock seem a bit off

Strange phenomenon
Everybody's deranged and I wonder what
Happened the day that I fell from the sky
If nobody changed
Then it must've been my
Mind.

Last time I did DXM (two bottles or capsules... fun but nothing too crazy) I listened to De-loused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta and it was pretty insane what it did to my trip. I pretty much laid on my back in my bed for the entire trip with my eyes closed to experience the CEV's and at one point (when i was peaking I guess) I remember feeling like I was literally flying through space. Like... the CEV's I was getting were all stars and galaxies and it felt like wind was rushing by my body like I was flying. It was pretty awesome lol. Then when the last song on the album came on I must have been at the top of the peak because I felt like my body was being transported underneath the crust of the Earth (and the CEV's matched this). I didn't think that shit was possible on DXM but it happened lol.

back when I was doing DXM very often I had my first and only full blown 4th plateau experience with maggot brain by funkadelic on repeat. I spent a good 2 or 3 hours as nothing floating in nothing. I obviously couldn't consciously interpret the music as music but I know it played a vital role.

[...] *Copied from Diphenidine thread*

Regarding the subject off music. Has anyone ever tried listening to Air's "Talkie Walkie" on Ketamine or any other dissociative for that matter? It's such a strange synergy...

I've listened to it on DXM. Back in my group of DXM loving fuck-ups in high school there was lots of Throbing Gristle, Swans, Autechre and I still love that stuff.
We ALL loved Air's Symtoms Premiers or however it's spelled, even the ones who would only listen to angry music as a macho thing.

Ha I'm glad I'm not the only one. I have also recommended this to all my friends and even my "techno only" (former best) friend never listened to anything else on K.

I'm in love. Gently noisy, emotional, with nicely mixed and mastered piano. Sounds like a piano without being all "HELLO I"M A PIANO! LISTEN TO ME THUNK AND PLINK ABOUT FOR QUITE AWHILE, THEN LATER MAYBE ambient"

just got 6x0.5 baggies of the stuff which is really handy and really good way to do this so i now don't have to separate it different bags or have the problem of having 3g in one lump
new supplier this week as the dos attack put me off using my normal one which i am glad it has as both the 0.5gs and quality is much better 20mg or so vaped and i am wrapped in a nice feeling cotton wool type tingling at the minute going to now dive in to a d-hole for the rest of the day as i have canceled my appointments because the post was running late and i can't risk having signed for stuff coming without me being here at the minute as i am meant to be going clean of drugs but sod that i can't handle things without a crutch at the minute sooner my doctor gets me on some kind of meds and this cognitive therapy the better then i may not have to rely on the post to medicate myself so much :)

reminder to myself can not use left nostril this time :)

I really don't understand why epople enjoy insufflating chemicals so damn much. It's fucking disgusting. OF COURSE it's a bad route for this chemical from all I have heard, but I personally wouldn't even have gotten the idea to try it.
I personally like it because it has good bioavailability and its more convenient than plugging or IVing (which I've yet to try, although would like to), and it bypasses the GI tract so it doesn't lose potency by being dispersed in the stomach and being converted to a salt by gastic acid. Not sure if insufflation bypasses first pass metabolism of not. Vaping is my favourite ROA, but I've only had success with dp when its mixed in with herbs (I used chamomile tea), I think theres a risk of combustion by products if the heat gets too intense, but thats just speculation, I don't know.

Okay, 100mg oral dose = good. No nasal burn. Gets converted in the stomach into the HCl salt. Still has good potency. 100mg oral feels like 80mg insfufflated. Hard to tell with insufflated due to urge to blow nose. Stomach naturally neutralises freeabasedp to dpHCl, and dpHCl has good bioavailability. Smoking might cause burning of lungs and could produce unwanted combustion byproducts. But may also have higher bioavailability. Smoking = not fully known,

100mg ingested orally = neutralized to salt in stomach = good biovailability = most sensisible ROA

All theoretical of course

Best + safest ROA = oral

Ok, no doubt fellas, dp is an entheogen. It gives me insight into how I can help other people in their philosophopies about life, give them knowledge which will help them see things through a positivie light. We need to make this a sacrament. This needs to be protected by law, because the very people making the laws, are people we can help by showing them the right philosopy that does good for all. We can make this world a better place. This isn't recreation. This is creation. Creation of wonders. Wonders which willl make the world a better place. Win win for everyone. Thats what its all about. Need I repeat the song? Ok the song need be repeated:

And why not another one:

It's a widely dissed album, but I find myself very fond of Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music on DXM.
