I find that dissociative can go well with whatever music you personally enjoy. I can have a good time listening to classic rock, conscious/old skool hip-hop, ska, punk, alt and grunge, even metal. Used to love dissociating and jamming some more extreme variants such as Gojira, Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, etc.
Dissociative goe much better tho IMO with electronica. PsyTrance/PsyBient is very beautiful, but I feel these are BEST on true Psychedelics. Trip hop is good on either. I've always referred to dissociatives as "darkside tripping", and my musical taste follow. Therefore, in order from good to EPIC, my fave dissociative music is prolly aggro-tech, DnB, dubstep (when done right), and industrial. I think Industrial music is made for dissociatives or perhaps vice versa. I often wonder if such artists were influenced by K. My go-to band while dissociating is KMFDM.
I second this by Vortech : "This is a hard thread because I find that almost any music I like sober I like EVEN more dissociated."
And mentioning Shpongle, I have always made it a tradition of listening to each album sober, and on (seperately) 2C-x and DXM/MXE. I prefer what 2Cs do to music over LSD or Psilocin actually.
With Museum of Consciousness, I have only thus far listened sober, and just the other night, on DXM (1g and a Roxi, but that don't chage sound for more), sadly waiting for some psychs to run that experiment. Passed the test, was AMAZING! Even sober, Shpongle kicks in my HPPD; slight mood lift, a lil tactile sensations, and minor visuals. On drugs, it increases drug effect 2-3 fold, but only while listening. Effects fade as quickly as Nitrous with music off.
Sadly, I must say that whle I LOVED this album, it was my least fave from Shpongle. However, they're worst album is better than the best album from 95%+ the artists I have listened to.
