The Big & Dandy Music on Dissociatives Thread

Rocketship by guster on YouTube their live vision works

And 'licking the envelop' by stenchman is the other end of the spectrum

What I'm really digging these days (among too many other things)

Melting Pot Radio (ranges from glitch-funk bass music to really refined moving-world-ethno-lushscapes. https://soundcloud.com/meltingpotmusic a lot of the sets are an hour or longer and don't miss a beat

Bird of Prey- https://soundcloud.com/bird-of-prey/bird-of-prey-live-boom and Birds of Paradise. https://soundcloud.com/birdsofparadiseThe new album, 'Flight Patterns' is really tuned on.

Pretty Lights' 'The Hot Shit' Weekly podcast is pretty consistently badass https://soundcloud.com/prettylights/pretty-lights-the-hot-sh-t-100

https://soundcloud.com/prettylights/pretty-lights-the-hot-sh-t-102

For hard and/or more challenging glitch and EDM I enjoy Adapted Records https://soundcloud.com/adapted-records, Monstercat Records https://soundcloud.com/monstercat , and Enig'matik https://soundcloud.com/enigmatikrecords

However, while I like the faster full-spectrum EDM, unless you're dancing or at a party, a lot of the better dissociative trips are at home in the dark with psychedelic dub/chill/ambient music. No need to mention the new Shpongle that dropped a couple months ago .
Lots of ethno-glitch-psy-dub out there like Desert Dwellers, Kalya Scintilla, Akasha (http://akashaexperience.bandcamp.com/album/into-the-web-ep)and Interchill Records. I love the new Adam Shaikh album 'Refractions v2 http://sonicturtle.bandcamp.com/album/refractions-vol-2Very imaginative vibes with rolling grooves. Sound that speaks volumes...it speaks ages.

Ektoplazm http://www.ektoplazm.com/section/free-music does a wonderful job aggregating the free psychedelic releases, everything from psydub to 200 BPM hi-tech Darkpsy trance.

I already posted one Solitude mixset here on page 3 but deserves a bigger shout out because he is very prolific pushing out deep and sparse ambient dubstep mixsets that are great for introspective hole spaces. https://soundcloud.com/solitude

Lastly, I certainly can't forget the guys that were pioneering in the late 90s and early 2000s and still upping the ante. Tycho https://soundcloud.com/tycho, Arovane, Boards of Canada, Bola, Lusine, Tipper (2004's 'Surrounded' has a very deep dissociation feeling, and most the rest of his work is just a treat to tune into)

This is a hard thread because I find that almost any music I like sober I like EVEN more dissociated.

hmm this is an interesting thread idea. MT (i know i posted before)
i do sound design, and depending how dissociated one is, the frequencies are redonkulos !

i use self made "meditation", sub bass beat patterns for holes.

disco biscuits
shulman
native american flute music

is all sooo great too!

i like pretty much anything on k, one night while on it i had the idea of letting my iphone autofill at random from my entire mp3 collection (pretty large), and just shuffled through that the next night on K, loved EVERYTHING from Syl Johnson to John 00 Fleming to Powerman 5000 to Naughty By Nature to Photek. music influences the trip in a massive way, especially in the dark or whenever else the music is the centrepiece of my attention. but to list my absolute favourites, and I'm probably forgetting some:

Teebee - Silent Depths (I listened to this after seeing it recommended in that music thread in the best of bluelight section)
Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata and Mozart's Requiem
2pac - anything
Eric Prydz - 2Night

tonight gonna try some deep house, specifically, Night Drive Music stuff (everything I listen to off that label is great) and some James Holden (Balance 005 comp, maybe some of his singles)

Music on Dissociatives is by far my favorite drug/music combo. They just go together so well - anything Electronic, EDM, Conscious Hip Hop that makes you think thanks to the Lyricism, Old Psychedelic music.........so much good shit - Old Hard Bop Jazz from back in the day is mad ill with the rhythms and sick bass. Bass is crucial for sure, drum n bass/dubstep just plain fucking bumps, reggae is dope too though. There's just too much. Here are some favorites tho by far.

Funky funky funky - true originator of everything Hip Hop you hear nowadays - Horace Silver - from the United States of Mind

Cool tracks, I'm going to listen to that stuff further. Here's a couple by Jemapur (here and here) that that album made me think of, though they're a bit more trip-hop oriented.

I also listened to Eno and Fripp's 'Evening Star' all the time on ketamine and MXE, here's the title track. Listening to it again makes me really want a dissociative.

Right know listening to Vibrate by Ghostland Observatory on 3-meo-pcp. Nice.

Did another bump of 3-meo-pcp and listened, was not disappointed.

Just listened for the first time Edan - Making Planets , awesome.

That's awesome man. Edan is the shit. I saw dude live in my city with Prefuse 73 when I was 20-21. It was my first hip hop show, and my first time seeing Prefuse 73. It was the straight up shit. You should check out a video of his on Youtube called "Johnny the Fox", it's a scratching and rhyming combo that he does by himself. It's so sick man, he juggles the beat on the turntables, while he holds the mic and rhymes at the same time - and keeps everything in beat perfectly and is adding distortion and special effects. So cool, true inspiration to me. Fucking great. Here it is...........

Check it out. So classic it hurts.
