The Big & Dandy Methoxetamine Thread - 5th Dose (you took too much, seriously)

I get the electricity buzzing and so does my gf. I do get tinnitus early on but it definitely gets warped as the trip goes deeper.

Daily use for me has resulted in dilated pupils when not on MXE, similar to SSRIs but bigger. Also my opiate tolerance seems to have sky rocketed after almost 2 weeks break and a huge break before that.
It also resulted in far more manic, emotional and psychotic states when using. I have stopped now, I can't see how any one could get addicted to MXE but every one is different

2 weeks ago 30mg morphine would have got me as high as I am now on 70mg and I have not used in that time.

re the tinnitus. worryingly, i came across this article in the DXM vault, about dissociatives

http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/dxm/dxm_health1.shtml

Onley's Lesions (NMDA Antagonist Neurotoxicity) and Dissociative disorder.

summery:

"Several years ago, JW Olney discovered that dizocilpine (MK-801), a chemical being tested to prevent brain damage from strokes, actually caused damage to specific areas of the brain in rats. Since this time, numerous other drugs in the same class (the dissociatives) have been tested, and they all share this problem. As some of you might know, I have spent a great deal of time trying to make sure that the Internet community, and the larger world, has detailed information about this complex, difficult-to-use, and often dangerous class of drugs. I first learned of Olney's lesions a few years ago, but it has taken me much time to review all the evidence, compare drug dosage within and across species, speak to heavy dissociative users, and so on. I am now ready to state my conclusions and make some recommendations, which are as follows (explained in detail in the full document).
"

kinda makes me a bit more worried about the tinnitus which has survived day 3 without MXE...still ringing...

I have tinnitus all the time... cept on higher doses of mxe it goes away and my hearing gets crystal clear... I notice it especially in quiet environments... I can hear the softest sounds clearly and no trace of the normal hissing/ringing I usually hear... its very peaceful... but I've had this tinnitus for quite some time... probably mostly due to spending a lot of time in extremely loud environments without ear protection...

yes i did on tuesday/wednesday i was as if a sheath of corn shedding its seed going through a fresher to be ground it to flower really odd stuff guess that's what you get living on a farm watching the next years crop just starting to grow

oh god olneys lesions....

fuck you, olney. shit was never proved guys, it was closer on the side of being disproven actually.

feeling a bit fucking funky off this 20/25mg dose =D ontop of some alcohol its been nice. quite numb and feeling the music. dislocated in a nice way, and thoughts are flowing nicely. beauty

I don't think my tinnitus is in the ears. It isn't louder in one ear than in the other as is usually the case in injury to the ears. It isn't from hissing electronics, either, as I hear it in environments away from electronics and when plugging my ears (interestingly when I plug my ears the pitch of the tinnitus lowers from a hiss to more of a tone).

I think it's likely that chronic MXE use does cause brain damage in humans, as there is decent but not totally conclusive evidence that chronic ketamine abuse does (see "Reduced Dorsal Prefrontal Gray Matter After Chronic Ketamine Abuse". The mechanism of damage is not known, and discussion of this paper outside of the linked to thread has argued that the mechanism likely is not Olney's lesions. It has been noted that the ketamine users in the study were tobacco users while the controls were not (with tobacco use associated with grey matter reductions), however, IIRC within the ketamine/tobbaco abuser group greater ketamine use and duration were also correlated with greater gray matter reduction, as well as greater cognitive deficits as measured by cognitive tests, so it still indicates ketamine is correlated with the damage. I think it's pretty likely that chronic ketamine abusers do genuinely suffer from brain damage, and that ketamine is one of the culprits (it has been mentioned previously that simply not thinking much because abusers often spend their days vegging out in brain atrophying trances might contribute, and that seems like a plausible contributer, too).

As to whether the development of tinnitus from MXE use is related to this same kind of brain damage that seems to have occurred in the participants in this ketamine study not much can be said. I certainly haven't been using MXE chronically. It may not be damage related to neuronal death or degredation, either, perhaps it's just an alteration in organization or a chemical imbalance whose symptom is tinnitus. I don't know for sure whether MXE caused the tinnitus in the first place, either, but it does seem to be connected.

alcohol and MXE?? how's that? i'm not a huge fan of alcohol, more of a marijuana man...

but LoL i see pictures in my head!!!

haha not a recommended combo, sent me on a weird one a few times. if the balance is established its very nice though. beautifully euphoric. MJ sends my thoughts too erratic, cant stop analyzing, anxious etc. MXE is a beaut, this is the ultimate chill drug

i've smoked weed daily for 8 years straight now ( a couple days of sober-ness here and there) so i find it definitely enhances my experience. no anxiety, no fast heart beat,no nothing atm. i feel clean, fresh, heavy, angelic, confused, and numb all at the same time..

I have a comment related to the cannabis smoking and mxe... I'm a regular bud smoker and mxe just isn't as good without it... but I've seen people who aren't regular smokers get high on herb while high on mxe and some have certainly got some paranoia and panicky... nothin too serious but seemed worth mentioning...

Yeah I've experienced the paranoia from weed but I have also had the opposite effect too

They are most likely related. The first alert I get when dosing MXE is tinnitus.

i find insnufflation to provide more powerful effects than if i take MXE orally.
Orally i find the dissociative effects much better quality, way less morish, and longer lasting with almost same dosage. insufflating the stimulant side is much more pronounced but there's also weird body buzz and some nausea (oddly enough dont get it with oral) but i guess some people might dig better the stimulant effects (particulary the dopamine kick).

this is a very good drug on low and medium doses. i dont see how people like it how high doses it creates so much chaos and avoc in my mind like few drugs (or combos) ever tried. if you want a psychonaut drug look somewhere else, its dirty and not clean to the mind much better in that level is K or other drugs. its weird being a amazing drug on med-low accomplishing so much that K never did, but totally losts value in high doses, its like a pretty young naive sister. IT does create a shitload of confusion on high doses (unrealistic and delusional bordering with "maniac"), i truly see someting NOT good on that level that can fuck up a lot people minds but might be my experience........... be safe!
