I stopped smoking before I ever got into psychedelics much, so I can't say specifically. My worst habit over the past few years has been kratom, and I can't say that it helped me with that, because, well, kratom doesn't feel disgusting like cigarettes do, and it mixes really well with DOC. However, DOC does produce a state of inner tranquility in me, particularly after the peak, which helps me to be totally satisfied with just myself and the little things in life, which lasts for a good 24 hours at least. So I can definitely see how it could help with quitting cigarettes.
So how long has it been? I hope you'll be able to use this temporary reprieve to do some work to prevent yourself from picking it back up.

The way I quit was that one day I just realized how crappy cigarettes made me feel, and how much I hated the feeling of them. So I stopped, and every time I had a craving I just reminded myself how shitty they are. And then once my tolerance dropped, I started getting nicotine buzzes again if I smoked, and to me, the nicotine buzz is one of the nastiest, most foul feelings in the world. So it was pretty easy to quit. I never had any withdrawal symptoms at all. Just cravings from time to time to be doing the action of smoking.
