The Big & Dandy 4-HO-MET Thread - Part 2

I have had some in a plastic bag for 2-3 years and didn't notice any loss. Since then I've put them in glass vials.

anyone here have experience injecting 4-ho-met either subq (prefered) or im? How would the doses compare to the oral ones?

Wow, interesting sounding combo! I suspect my happy dose would be half that though, 14mg of t2, when I had some was pretty full-on & I've rarely dosed met higher than 10mg when I had that in! Those doses would seriously send me!

If I remember correctly, both of these are kinda stimulating, there wasn't any linering, over-stimulation problems, no?

No, it's really smooth experience all the way through. Over-stimulation is a result of too much dopamine and norepinephrine, and I think T2 and 4homet are mostly serotonergic, so it feels like a light candyflip.

^ yeah it does have a candy flip feel to it, without too much stimulation. That combo gives me pastel colored visuals and makes everything seem almost digital, it's pretty cool. It's not too difficult on the mind either, even in high doses. Metocin also mixes well with mephedrone and MDMA.

I did 15 mg of this recently and i weigh ~130 lbs. I've done shrooms many times, acid, dmt a lot, but i'd have to say this was the only unpleasant trip i've had since salvia. It was nice and strong the first half of the trip, colors, etc, but I felt it was very superficial and weird and then it went bad and i just wanted it to end and couldn't sleep at all. My experience is similar to this report http://www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.php?ID=89530 . After research I think this is a psylocin analog, and also a serotonin / serotogenic antagonist and so it causes mild serotonin syndrome. My vision feels different too, even after 3 days. And with reports of heart palpitations and kidney pain I would recomend just sticking to shrooms

Haven't had any experience with 4-HO-DET, but it's definitely more stimulating than 4-AcO-DET or any other Tryptamine besides maybe 5-MeO-MiPT and 4-AcO-DiPT

Well 5-MeO-MiPT never got that stimulating because I took low doses of it. I took one large dose of 4-HO-DET for my trip on it and it made my heart get really excited about 2 hours after I took it. I didn't like the feeling and wouldn't care for this one if it's similar.

I had kidney pain with shrooms. At the end of the trip my lower back hurts and need sit/lie down.

Oh. Well I'm feeling a bit better now, although i think i still have minor kidney and heart pain which I hope resolves. It feels like metocin is still lingering in my system and muscles I wonder how long the metabolites last for. I think with excercize I will be better. On a better note the serotonin or something changed me, I am not as anxious in public and can really just be fine in my own skin now and my vision is improving

This isn't typical effects from 4-ho-met at all. For me it's the tryptamine with the least side effects, that is none. Either you have some strange allergy, or it's another compound you have all together. Or maybe it's impure?

4-ho-met doesn't cause release or reuptake inhibition of serotonin, so it can't cause serotonin syndrom. I don't see why it should give you kidney pains either? As you say, it's main effects comes from agonism of the 5-HT2A receptor

Yes, you're right in that Metocin is an analog of psilocin, were psilocin has 2 methyl groups, Metocin has one methyl and one ethyl group. They're very close chemically.

The dude in the trip report you link was on a huge combination of various chems, of which Metocin is the least harmfull. No wonder he felt bad.

To be honest, I think your problems are psychosomatic. Get plenty of sleep, eat well, get some exercise, stay positive, and I'm sure you will soon feel better soon. :)

Metocin is a serotonin agonist, not an antagonist. Also, there is no chance metocin caused serotonin syndrome. Also, real serotonin syndrome is a serious condition and isn't "mild," I don't think (from what I understand) it makes to speak of it like that.

Anyway, you're fine, you're just experiencing some common post-trip effects. You'll be fine. :)

Can anyone compare metocin to 2C-C in terms of depth at varying doses? I realize this may seem like a random comparison considering one is a tryptamine and the other a PEA, but I'm asking because I've been looking to delve back into the world of psychedelia after a 5 year hiatus, and recently tried out 2C-C after reading that it was mentally light and may be a good "starter" substance.

I found a 2C-C dose of 40mg to provide nothing more than mild OEVs and a mild, relaxed body high, and found myself wanting more depth, more insight. I pushed my dose of 2C-C as high as 100mg and although I experienced intensely complex OEV's and some out-of-body visions with my eyes closed, I still sensed a lack of depth, like I was being shown these visions but not given the capacity to understand them.

After my 2C-C trials, I realize that I do want some greater depth to an experience, something I had been hesitant about before because I didn't want to struggle through an anxiety-ridden mindfuck of a trip. Can anyone comment on differences between the mental aspect of 20-40mg 2C-C and 10-15mg metocin?
