i was told that xanax has been made schedule 9 (or what ever the class oxy is in) lf you have xanax hold onto em or if you have scripts get them filled ASAP and stock up........fuckin a current affair

jesus fucking christ. do people not bother reading previous posts.

someone basically posted the exact thing as you junky except for them to be sched 8. i linked to the SUSMP to explain the changes. how does stocking up on a drug do anything positive in relation to its rescheduling? no fucking sense at all.

now if anyone has a legitimate article instead of sharing some story heard from the local patron, your words will hold a lot more ground.

Alprazolam (also known as Alprazolam Intensol, Niravam, Xanax, Xanax XR) is on course to be changed from a Schedule 4 to a Schedule 8 drug, following a recent recommendation by a TGA advisory committee according to the Australian Doctor publication. The report said that alprazolam is understood to be the only benzodiazepine recommended for rescheduling, with concerns over abuse, particularly by heroin users. The official recommendations of the TGA committee considering the scheduling will not be announced until late next month.

Above is an excerpt from the article in Pharmacy Daily's issue from 12th April 2013.

Has anyone else here experienced the problem whereby a psychiatrist is reluctant to prescribe benzos because of past drug-use? I was on Suboxone a while back for abusing codeine (damn CWE lol), and prior to this the psych was saying I needed to go on clonazepam, but after finding this out she sort of just never mentioned it again.

I have the most extreme insomnia imaginable and these are the only things that work.

Currently resigned to getting small amounts of temazepam from the GP who doesn't know about the Suboxone and drinking myself to sleep, but it's not a very ideal situation.

The insomnia is so bad that I am seriously considering going back on Suboxone even though I'm not at all addicted to any opiates.... fml :?

That doesn't sound right, can you really get sub to treat codeine addiction?

As for Xanax if you are a borderline sociopath who doesn't mind lying to your a GP's face it shouldn't be that hard to get prescribed alpraz.
If the scheduling is changed wont it still be at the docs discretion to prescribe you it? I understand doctors may be more reluctent to hand it out willy nilly, anyways here in WA my doc has to call and get an authority anyway.

.

Most definitely. Not many doctors would understand cold water extraction so they would assume the person is getting a fair wack of paracetamol or ibuprofen...so it does make sense from that point of view.

Can anyone who has experience with etizolam and pyrazolam tell me how they compare.

Is pyra more anxiolytic than etiz? Or is it more sedateing?

What dose of Diazapam would you recommend for a good chill out. I am prescribed 2mg tablets and 4 mg does nothing.

Jesus. Didnt even know you could get such a small dose. Considering 5mg it typically the smallest dosage you see I would recommend at least trying 5mg. Fair enough most docs will probably instruct the patient to have half a tablet to 1 tablet when required, so 2.5mg might be quite a common dosage for people with no tolerance (or penchant for recreational benzo ue ;)), but honestly that really is a tiny dose. I consider 5mg to be an an extremely small dose too.

Obviously it comes down to the individual and your tolerance. Personally I consider having 1 5mg valium/diazepam tablet as a waste. The min Ill bother having is 10mg. As a non-recreational dose 10mg seems fine at reducing anxiety, taking the edge off shit and basically doing what its supposed to do. 10mg is good for a great nights sleep too. Obviously it increases from these depending on what youre doing, combining it with, what you want it for etc.

But this is about you, not me. Id give 10mg a go. Give it time. Be patient, it may take up to an hour depending on metabolism etc. If that doesnt quite do it for you next time try 15mg. If you take 10mg and find you arent satisfied I wouldnt bother taking another 5mg tablet like an hour later or something. That would be a waste IMO. Just save it and next time try 15mg straight up.

If you have a low tolerance though 10mg should really be enough to do the job. If it isnt maybe youre expecting too much or even expecting diazepam to be something its not. IMO, and I think others would concur, it really isnt at the top of the list as far as recreational benzo goes. Dont get me wrong, they are enjoyable, but chances are youll just fall asleep!

It is subtle, but I remember the first time I had a non-recreational dose.. and I could just DO THINGS! This may sound stupid, but if you are an anxious wreck in public, being able to do things without even thinking about worry is a fucking godsend. However, the next time I tried the same small dose, it barely worked at all. Tolerance builds very quickly, and dependance is something nobody wants to go anywhere near. Thankfully I've managed to avoid that, by taking large breaks, although I do (wa) over indulge when I get a script, so my tolerance is pretty high now.

Benzo's aren't drugs that every person will appreciate. It won't get you "high" like a lot of other drugs, but that relief (and in some like me, it is a kind of euphoria) is just as good as to some people with real anxiety issues. Just remember it's not a cure, never will be. It's a short-term band-aid and the horrors of withdrawal are real and you don't want to go there.

I have chronic anxiety and need benzos to function, well I've been on them since 2004 so completely dependent on them. My favourite is clonazepam - I find it to be the same strength as Xanax but has a half life of 25hrs in comparison to xanax's 8. I agree being able to function normally without over analysing racing heart and being shaky, it's nice not to be high strung. That said I always ration my benzos so I can get cozy on them every so often. I get prescribed a mixture so down a cocktail and just relax with a DVD or something. I don't abuse them or mix with alcohol just save what I can. I've had problems with opiates but love that sedated but just awake feeling and benzos are a lot safer for me.

Ive been curious about clonozepam for a while now... so it feels similar to xanax? Does it have a dual purpose in as much as is it also prescribed for schizophrenia for hallucinations etc? As well as for anxiety.

Clonazepam is pretty much the "safer" version of Xanax IMO. It lasts longer, 24hrs+ I believe so you don't suffer the same intense WD's like Xanax. First time I had 2mg, I was in benzo heaven, never been so relaxed in my life.

I didn't think it was prescribed here though for anxiety, only epilepsy. USA is completely different. Clonaz is the new Xanax over there.

There is a similarly worded pharm Clozapine that is used in the treatment of schizophrenia so I think you might be confused.

^I've seen it prescribed for anxiety in Australia before. Couldn't say if its common though. I found it took a while to take effect but it worked well for performance anxiety ie public speaking and the like.

No it's definitely not clozapine, that is used for schizophrenier. Clonazepam it mainly prescribed for seizures, but it is very effective as an anxiety medication and I would say 2mg of clonazepam is on par ith 2mg of Xanax it just comes on more gradually and lasts much longer. More docs should prescribe it, especially since it's harder to get Xanax these days, clonazepam would be good as a stronger Valium.

does clonazepam taste like mints or something? anyway, I've been indulging in a few bars every now n then for the last month or two when Ive been able to get them.. fuck I love xannex haha

also tried Oxazepam for the first time a month ago, liked it alot..

^yes, clonaz 2mg tablets taste like mints with a chemical aftertaste.

Clonazepam is pretty much the "safer" version of Xanax IMO. It lasts longer, 24hrs+ I believe so you don't suffer the same intense WD's like Xanax.

I don't think clonaz is safer at all. The WDs from clonaz are absolutely horrendous, and are more drawn out than alprazolam. Basically, it's very optimistic to believe that something can be as strong as alprazolam AND longer lasting without heavy consequences attached.

I've mentioned a few times on this forum that clonazepam gets my vote for the worst withdrawal of anything I've come across (which is a fair bit over many years).

Doctors aren't stupid man, you seriously think they don't know what a CWE is?

Im no fucken expert but putting someone on suboxone for a codeine "addiction" seem really irresponsible, its like prescribing meth for a dexie habit.

Can anyone who has experience with etizolam and pyrazolam tell me how they compare.

Is pyra more anxiolytic than etiz? Or is it more sedateing?

In my experience pyrazolam is weaker than etizolam in every sense. It is purely anxiolytic, without any other apparent qualities - decisively non-sedative, and not that powerfully anxiolytic. Like an alprazolam-lite, with very little amnesic effect also apparent. Etizolam is more sedative, more strongly anxiolytic, and all-around better - the only situation I would imagine you'd want pyrazolam is if you find etizolam too sedative or get paradoxical effects (and even then I'd rather take a comparatively lower dose of etizolam for anxiolytic effect than pyrazolam).

Pyrazolam is water-soluble, though, so it can be injected - however, I found this a most disappointing experience. I've injected midazolam and pyrazolam doesn't even begin to compare. The faintest rush imaginable, like a Xanax kicking in during an anxious moment, but all in the space of a minute or so.

Thanks mate, you just answered every question i had about pyra.

Really interesting it mixes with water.

I get a fair amount of euphoria from etiz, was curious if pyra gives similar euphoria. (im guessing it dosnt even if you dose high enpugh)
