Benzos The Benzodiazepine MEGA THREAD - Direct Benzo Questions Here

This question may have been asked / answered before, however, is there a known way to increase the metabolic clearance rate of benzos? Or do I simply have to ride out seven half-lives (plus active metabolites)?

Of note I'm not asking because of any upcoming drug test, just want to thin them and their metabolites out from my system. Taper down on dosage, and get rid of the built up chunk still being processed.

Try getting the blood flowing go throw football with your spouse or friends. Basically, try anything fun that you like to do other than drugs to get your mind focused on something else. Force yourself if your lethargic you'll get more energy after you start moving around and you will feel much better

Is glycerol a suitable solvent for pure benzo powders? Like clonazolam and meclonazepam?

Hello blue light sorry for stealing this thread but iv just joined today and am in desperate need of help. Iv been abusing bezos hardcore for about a year (clonazepam, xanax, lorazepam, onax bars pretty much anything) my tolerance is through the roof.

I lost my contact so now it's just diazepam I'm talking 20 10mg tablets when I finish work until going to bed rough 6 hours!

Iv also been diagnosed with depression a month ago and prescribed mirtazapine by my gp. I also take tramadol for a severe bad back and case of siatica which I'm also heavily addicted to.

It's ruining my life it's affecting my work my family (I have two young boys 5 and 2) iv tried 3 times to quit the benzos but had to start again as the withdrawals were too much to handle. I really need help and don't no what to do could somebody plz help any advice greatly appreciated. By the way I'm 28 yr old

Thanks in advance

Okay I'm not going to lie, you have dug yourself into a really bad position. First I'd like to say, the depression you were diagnosed with, is likely a direct result of the benzo abuse. Benzos, especially in high doses over long periods of time, have been shown to lead to depression. They dull life, and thus make you eventually stop feeling happiness, which leads to depression.

You say you are going to need 200mg of valium just to sleep tonight? That's a hell of a tolerance.

First off, absolutely under no cirumstances, should you try to cold turkey benzos from a dose even close to that high. You can have a grand mal seizure, damage your brain, break your neck, or end up dead from it.
You need to come clean to your doctor and get put on a proper, controlled, valium taper. Valium is the gold standard for tapering benzos because of its 100 hour half life. It will have to be a long taper because that is a redicously high dose of valium, and I'm sure that translates to you taking something like 10-20mg of xanax or lorazepam on days that you don't have valium etc.

Read the ashton manual for proper procedure on how to safely taper off benzos.

http://www.benzo.org.uk/manual/

Print it out and bring it to your doctor in fact when you go see him. Make it clear the doses you have been taking of benzos, and for the period of time, because this is a serious medical situation, if you were to not be tapered correctly.

If you ever run out of benzos, I highly suggest you go to the ER, they have to give you benzos because the withdrawals otherwise really can be lethal.

Don't be scared though, I'm not trying to scare you, just making sure you understand the seriousness of the situation. If you get put on a proper valium taper, and drop say, 10mg a week for the first 3 months, and then 5mg a week for the next 3 months, and then something like 2.5mg a week for the final 8 weeks, that should be a decent taper, something of that nature is ideally what you want.

If you don't have self control, you should give your valium taper and scheduele to your spouse or someone else you can trust, and have them dole it out to you.
The important thing is to not cheat the taper.

I wish you the best.

Thanks so much for the reply pbuilder.
I understand as iv done hours upon hours of research on the net and spent lots of time on this site before I built the courage to join. It's just so scary. I can't even sleep well on that amount iv just woken up after 2 hours sleep and had 60mg before bed.

I'm terrified of telling my gp as they will put on my records I'm a drug abuser then il never get decent meds again when I need then. I'm in such a mess it's taking over my life

Thankyou for the help pal

Have you gone through this before??

Well I've done a lot of research on the subject of benzodiazepines. It seems that when someone gets used to a particular benzo, especially klonopin, or xanax, it may no longer work for them after a period of use. How long this period of use could be varies. For me, I have been taking klonopin for nearly 20 years. It just doesn't seem to work anymore. In fact, I feel as if I am going through benzo wd's. My head can barely stand it. I've been chain smoking to counteract the effects, and drinking extra caffeine, and before you call me a dumbfuck, it works but only temporarily - then I'm right back to where I started. The reason for the extra caffeine and cigarettes is a long and complicated subject, but the main problem is this - my prescribing doctor probably won't give me xanax because he is an addiction specialist and is wary of changing any of my prescriptions. I had asked him for suboxone because I was going through extended methadone wds, but he quickly cut me off when I mentioned suboxone, stating that one had to be in a full-on state of wd. Now I understand his philosophy, but he didn't quite understand what I was going through - I was on 120mg of methadone and due to unfortunate circumstances, I had to quit cold turkey. I received no care when I was going through cold turkey. I imagine that maybe this cold turkey off of methadone fucked with my system, maybe that's why the klonopin won't work anymore, but I also feel that maybe I should step up and find a new doc who will prescribe xanax. To me, I feel, it's the only drug that will work. I remember, on methadone, it worked lovely.
The panic attacks are just too much and I cannot live with it anymore. Any tips or advice? I have already thought of finding an apartment so I can chill out and live on my own as I live with my parents and that only adds to the stress.
I take extra vitamin C to counteract the stress - this usually works, especially in megadoses. Have tried homeopathy for panic attacks, but it just doesn't work so well. I feel as if my brain is still hardwired to the methadone and the xanax.
Any advice, any experience would be welcome. Just hanging in there. Probably will need a new doc. Currently not on methadone now.

Peace,

mandraxx

This is my very first post on here. I just parachuted 4mg of Xanax Xr. Will let you know results later. Also off topic how do I add a profile picture ? Edit: Figured the avatar thing out.

Do you need to crush up the valium to take it sublinguil or do you just put the whole pill under your tongue. Does it work faster and does it hit you harder?

So my seller let me down the prick, I have no xanax left now, currently taking 6 mg a day, I'm only prescribed 1.5mg s of it along with tonnes of other drugs but my script ran out today and I'm not due one until Friday, I'll be in the horrors, I'm dreading it, can anyone recommend an otc drug that will help me get through these few days? Hate this life of a drug addict always dreading in case a seller let's you down or rips you off.

If you lived ANYWHERE else id recommend a few pellets of grey market clonitrazolam but you lot have the same stupid ban we're facing next year isnt it?

How long have you been on 6mg? If you cant guarantee your supply while dependent on such a high dose you really need to fess up to a health professional. Sudden CT from 6mgs of alprazolam per day could see you take a trip to the emergency room and back when you fit out. If your dependence is that entrenched you really need to see a doc and get the xanax changed to a non-triazolo long acting benzo (diazepam!). You might find them less abusable, you should only have to dose once or twice a day and they will be much easier to taper should you wish to try and kick them on the head.

Never mind the blanket ban - benzodiazepine overprescription and abuse is one of the bains of the Irish health care system - the doctors give out indefinate repeat prescriptions like sweets. My mothers irish, and her 3 siblings still living in Dublin have all had prescriptions for at least 15 years or more (her brothers are prescribed diazepam and bromazepam and her sister alprazolam).

I take alot of benzos, but they either come from diverted prescriptions or from the RC vendors. Getting them out of my doc is like blood from a stone - she lets me have 280mg of diazepam every 6 MONTHS AT THE MOST, and I can only have them following a direct consultation. Only once did they accidentally leave them on repeat, which they soon corrected after I claimed an extra lot (2X28 5mg)

Nothing OTC no. With benzos you have to treat them with the respect and severity they demand, and this probably means going to see a doctor. Idk where you live but here in the united states benzos are prescribed like candy, so hospitals/ER's/doctors are extremely used to people coming in highly dependent on benzos and are at risk of seizures or death so they'll prescribe you benzos to take home, and they'll dose you with lorazepam or diazepam or something while you're at the hospital/clinic. Depends on the severity of your dependency really. Best of luck to you!

Hi Stee, what ban is that again? I'm in Ireland xxx

Is there a consensus on the half-life of Pyrazolam? Wikipedia, various BL posts, and Google all have various reports ranging from 8 to 19 hour half lives.

Pretty much all benzos have ranges of x to y in half-life length, it depends on one's liver efficiency at eliminating various benzos. Some ranges are very drastic, like for clonazepam, 30-105 is quite a broad range, I was one that was metabolizing it very fast and needed my dose every morning, but never needed to redose the same day, but that suggests a less than 40 hours half-life for me (it was like this from the start, before tolerance was to be accounted for. clonazepam being the first benzo i used, illegally and then scripted legally, didn't try any other before, had it from a neurologist for HPPD.
