Yeah but drug mentor doesn't want it here, he's made it clear, nothing i can do or say will change that... Sadly its probably time. I'll miss doing it, but i'll still be checking my usual sources anyway, so i wont really miss it. But i can understand others might miss it, sharing is caring =)

But there's no call for media threads here apparently, so the its all but done. After what seems like forever of it being here, part of the reason i spent so much time here, but alas time to move on to other stuff. Ill still check in of course and post sometimes. Thanks for many nice comments and support along the way from users and mods from all kinds of forums here, i dont think i've had one negative PM ever.

Not down with that business at all. My bookmark to bluelight takes me to ausdd...and I rarely venture into other bluelights unless I'm looking for something specific.
 
poledriver - I think I've taken your hard work for granted in the past. You deserve a medal bro :) Drug Busts Mega-Thread is my favourite newspaper...

I reckon even some honorary bluelight moderatorship or title would be appropriate, by providing us with all that news you would have reduced many harms.

Poledriver man I have to say I am a little bit surprised coming into this thread today and reading some of your comments, while I have always had my personal opinion about where news articles on this site belong and at times have not been too shy about voicing them, it was never really a huge issue and the issue of actually moving the thread was never being discussed.

It was a PM I recieved from you on Australia day that served as the catalyst to put the wheels in motion about moving the media thread over to DitM. In said PM you told me that you agreed with my views on where the media thread belonged, that I should talk to the other mods about it, and if it DID get moved over to DitM you would be happy to continue posting news articles. Beyond that, you actually went on to suggest a format you thought would be suitable, one that I actually took on board and was trying to work on making it happen....

Now I come on here and apparently you don't agree with me anymore and it's purely my wish that has instigated the likely moving of the media thread? And beyond that seem to be implying that you not only wouldn't be willing to contribte to a thread in DitM and may be moving on from Bluelight or atleast having a reduced presence? Just making sure that I have this correct man, because I am frankly a little bit shocked at your total backflip. I hadn't even really spoke about this much with other mods or had any intention of raising the issue with other staff until you sent me a message saying you thought my ideas were a good direction to move in.

I have to say I feel like your hanging me out to dry a little bit, like your on board until the idea comes out and is met with some disdain from other posters and all of a sudden you don't support it anymore and it was all my idea... :\
 
Just because one moderator doesn't like one thread, it's going to be closed when it's clear that the majority of (vocal) users of the bluelight Australia forum want it kept is.. mindblowing.
 
^ It isn't to do with one moderator mate, a decision was made between the mods of AusDD and not to mention the mods of DitM are on board with it, not to mention it was suggested to me by the person who single handedly posts 95% of Australian related news on this forum who as far as I knew (because they told me they were) was on board until the last couple days... I don't see how I am the bad guy here, it's not like this was a decision made by me alone.
The thread isn't being closed, its being moved, there is a pretty big fucking difference if you think about it buddy. Also, much as we try take peoples opinions on board and do what we can to cater to what our posters want, Bluelight is not a democracy and never has been. You can't put a vote to every decision and occassionally decisions have to be made that go against what the majority want, the social thread a few years ago is probably a good example. How about you get the facts of whats happening straight before you go making stupid comments.

Not one person has given a good reason why they can't navigate to DitM, if every other regions bluelighters manage why is this such a hard pill for you all to swallow? Its honestly 10 seconds and two bloody mouse clicks.

It is absolutely absurd.

Out of all the posters on BL we australians, as a whole, seem to be the most elitist and lazy.

There is much, much more to BL than AusDD.

If it is too much trouble to get out of AusDD just book mark the fucking thread.

I think it's just because we're so used to it DM...it's how it's been for many years and we have just grown very attached to our drugs in the media AUSDD thread.

Don't think poledriver is meaning to hang you out to dry or anything...he probably had no idea there were so many people who felt so strongly about it :D

Thank you for posting news DM, I'll admit I don't often look who's posting it...and had just taken for granted that it would just appear for my reading leisure. I appreciate your work very much! <3

I quite possible misinterpreted what you said or my memory is just fucked, either way hope u aint mad at me bro, i respect you and the other mods and all your valuable time here. Im certainly not trying to be a dick about this thread, it's your choice and the other AUSDD mods, not mine, or any of the other users of AUSDD.

Of course i would never suggest the idea of moving it to the ditm without some kind of reason, and the reason was as i just stated above, i 'thought' you didn't want it here. Again, sorry if i got any of that wrong. I'd prefer it here anyday, but what happens happens.

This thread imo has been good for the discussion, oh yeah, last thing, sorry also for announcing it is getting moved over there, pre move. Just thought it might be ok to hear some input. Do what needs to be done, you guys and girl do it well. Leave it to you guys.

I may not have understood the whole situation d_m as I was not privy to all the information that you obviously had access to.

Mods don't need to post aggressive comments at posters when we voice our opinions, calmly explaining the facts would be better than calling us elitist and lazy.

I seem to remember a thread a while back about how to increase membership and how to get more people posting. There may be a correlation here somewhere but I'm too lazy to think about it, plus it's a Sunday and I have a hangover so I'm out of here.
 
^ You need only have read a few posts above the one you made to of known that it wasn't just one mod supporting this change... While the remark made by Tripman probably wouldn't be regarded by many as flaterring I think you are being a bit dramatic to describe it as aggressive. It's a bit rich the way some posters expect mods to be super duper nice about everything no matter how much attitude they cop from the other side, you have to remember that mods are people too, and aside from that, sugar coating your opinion isn't always the best way to get the message across. We are mostly adults here, surely you can deal with a couple (not even particularly harsh) words without taking it to heart.

Poledriver man, obviously our wires have gotten crossed a little here because I took the message you sent me as a genuine sign that you agreed with my point of view, I hadn't realised you were just trying to go along with what I wanted. If it's what you really want (and no other mod objects) then I can take it back to the mods and have another vote on it. I can't guarantee the outcome will be any different, especially now the wheels have been put in motion for change, but I do think the fact that we all thought you wanted the thread moved may have had an impact on some others opinions about where it should go. In my opinion, and I am pretty sure everyone else's, you easily post enough news to deserve some say on the matter and last time around we were under the impression you would like to see it go to DitM.

I would ask people to consider though, what is the great loss in having the thread moved? We would be leaving a thread redirect so you could still navigate to it via AusDD, comments would presumably be allowed which is something that people have long had a problem with in the AusDD thread, so all I can really see in moving it is positive. I would also point out, that unless my colleagues had a problem with it, should the Drug Bust thread remain in AusDD this thread would subsequently be closed given that traditionally we don't allow comments on drug bust articles. I was happy to leave this for a short period until the move happened but if the drug busts thread stays then my personal view is this thread has no place.
