Synthetic Cannabinoids Thread

Hey folks.... I'm heading up an Australian research study on synthetic cannabinoids. We are interesting in your views on these substances - how you think they should be treated by the law. Also interested in your experiences of different brands.

^ Are you looking for anyone to respond or only people that have used these drugs a lot? I have experienced a couple brands, but used neither more than a handful of times, I am a pretty seasoned cannabis smoker though. If it would be helpful I am willing to fill it in, I just wonder if having only a handful of experiences is enough to qualify for your survey?
 
We are actually looking for anyone - the survey has options for:
1. non-users who have simply heard about synthetic cannabis
2. people who have tried it only once
3. people who have used it twice or more often

So, we would appreciate your input and pretty much the input of everyone reading this thread (assuming you are living in Australia) :)

The legalities of these are so clouded. I'm only interested in sticking to legal synth's and am in WA. Going to try some JWH-307 as it's not listed under any of the 21 substances on either of the two parliament documents.

This grey area makes it really difficult. I have no intention of breaking any laws but if I bring in a chemical that is not listed as illegal it seems from reports that I could still end up having it confiscated (or worse even, get arrested/fined!). Very difficult system to work with.
 
The grey area exists because under the law ALL of them are illegal however no one has been prosecuted using that section of the law yet AFAIK. We might see it start happening in QLD soon though.
 
Another concern, TendrilZ, is that if the laws change between the time you order JWH-307 and receive it and you still happen to be in possession of some after the legal change, the current laws apply - not the laws when you bought it. This has stung some people...

Obviously they make the system difficult to work with because they hope people will not work with it at all. This is wishful thinking, of course...

Ah, really? I wasn't aware of this. Is that because all of them fall in some way as an analogue of the specifically banned substances?

Edit: Also, sorry about the full PM box. I wasn't aware the limit was only 5.
 
Yeah and because there is a little catch in the analogue laws that says something along the lines of "anything that is intended to have a similar effect"

I'm pretty sure the law was reworked to include all variations of JWH.
 
I'm not a lawyer so I wouldn't take my opinion as legal advice...

However, from what we could tell, some states have their own analogue acts and some states do not have analogue acts. WA does not have an analogue act. WA has therefore scheduled a long list of compounds. The ones missing from that list may still be 'illegal' through the TGA Poisons Schedule which does have an analogue/derivative clause... however, it is unlikely that anyone will be prosecuted under the federal act for a state offense (eg. simple possession). You need to remember though that the postal system and buying online are all considered federal jurisdictions. The question is whether the AFP would care about a simple/small charge. They may do, especially to make an example of someone.

I have been told by three different people (and one of those dudes is a big pot head) that a new K2 is out, it's effective and that it doesn't contain synthetic cannabinoids, so i went to the retail store and there it was plain as day displayed on the front counter for sale. haven't gotten any yet but hey I'll give it a shot.
 
Turns out the shit i was talking about was illegal, which is a shame cause K2 was a revelation, i never liked natural weed i couldn't understand what everyone was on about i felt disphoric and paranoid, but after K2 i felt like i was supposed to feel, relaxed, creative, etc, ah well, maybe I'll find a source somewhere else, the penalty's couldn't be any worse than cannabis, it's just a fine in WA isn't it? i mean i wouldn't be carrying any more than 3 grams..............
 
I can confirm that the penalties are worse than for cannabis... a friend's brother in WA got done for synthetic cannabis and has to go to court - certainly not just a slap on the wrist.

On that note, hopefully you are all aware that the WA cannabis law reforms that occurred in 2003 have been overturned by the Barnett state government. I don't know how that is working in practice though.

I am aware and excuse my language, but i hate that lizard faced, right-wing mutha-fucker he's ruined it for everyone, you cant even buy 'paraphernalia', not a bong not pipe not a vaporizer. Luckily i have this mate who's a plumber, uses his pipe/welding skills to make stems, this ain't no Macguyver shit, these are works of art, still gotta put it in a plastic bottle, at least till i get around to drilling out one of those pint grolsch bottles.

I'm told you fill them with sand and drill VERY slowly making sure as to not crack the bottle through heat, buy a four pack enjoy, surely i have at least a one in four chance of not fucking up, obviously id need two different sizes, but any idea what type of drill bit I'd use?
