cause i love wrestling! now you know my secret.

really though, i have no idea how that go in there.

are headaches common after using sub? (8mg generic, did about 2-3 mg spread over yesterday for recreation - no tolerance) got a bit of a headache today.

Was a great high though.

With no tolerance under a mg should produce quite a nice high, don't dose so much next time.

Back off bupe and on to kratom again since a couple days ago. Same results as the first time around so screwing my bupe dose back up to like a mg a day wasn't as much of a set back as i was expecting. Almost no withdrawal, just feeling hot but no sweating, and there's slight skin crawling but that's it. So I'm happy.

Glad to hear you're doing alright. Report if there are differences/new remarks about your taper with Kratom, and best of luck

I used opiates recreationally ALOT for many many years and was a serious heroin addict for most of that time but then I got clean with the help of suboxone. And then I stopped taking the suboxone and everything was going fine until I got an infection in my spine that caused unbelievable pain, weeks at the hospital, and prescriptions for 200mcg's/hr fentanyl and 8mg's of dilaudid every 4 hrs.....and have been taking these meds for atleast a month and a half.....probably 2 months. But my spine is healing up and I just had my temporary IV line(PICC line) taken out of my arm and am probably going to have my pain killer doses lowered and then taken away completely. I just dont know how quickly it will happen because ive never been in a situation like this before.
I know that every doctor is different and every situation is different, but I was wondering if anyone knows about how my doctor will go about tapering me off of my opiates. Do docs usually do it quickly like ripping off a band-aid, or do they take it nice and slow, so they make sure they dont cause any bad WD symptoms in there patient?

(my doctor is aware of my past drug use)

Any responsible doctor will wean you off slowly. They got you on them, it's their job to get you off of them without negatively affecting your life. You also may need to stay on some type of PM for a period of time, you never know.

man i hate these guys who get high on sub. i'd give anything for just a little buzz. how long do you need to be on low dose sub to feel it? i'm on and off sub but currently on .5 to 1mg snorted per day. never felt anything at all from them. though they do take my sweats and nervousness away. so that's good.

Im not sure what it is i get off my guy, i think GENERIC Subutex (i think these are different to suboxone?), and i never really use opiates, i get a few subs off him every few months and usually just need 1mg sublingual to get high then top up with 0.5mg snorted 6-8 hours later, lasts ages and i rarely use it.

Well, the other day, to answer catbird, I took enough Kratom in the morning to start making me feel physically sick, and when I took my Subutex a few hours later, I caught a lil' buzz. But, only a small euphoria.

Lasted roughly 30 minutes. But, I appreciate that because I needed to get to work programming that day, and when I feel high I cannot function! So, I'm glad it did not last that long at all.

I guess I'm just like everyone else, still seeking to get high on opiates.

Without the occasional buzz, I think I'd fall into major depression.

"Without the occasional buzz, I think I'd fall into major depression. "

exactly! by the way, i too am a programmer, but find it a lot more interesting when high. guess it depends on the exact work, but in general i like to combine the two.

Thanks will do, i feel slightly worse in the morning than the first time around but thats too be expected with the slightly increased daily dose, still nothing terrible and not even enough to make me jump out of bed to down my kratom pills, im still lazy and lay there for like an hour before getting up lol it's really not bad. And i think kratom is an UN-acquired taste. When i first got it i could spoon it into my mouth and the taste wouldn't phase me. Now The residue left on the outside of the gel caps is almost enough to make me gag... go figure lol.

Still need to get my laptop fixed, been putting it off and now i don't know if i have time until after i get to frisco because i start driving out there in a week.

Catecalls...Catbird...Caseface: When i first joined BL, i used to think you're all just 1 person.

And yes, same here too, if i don't do anything recreational every now and then, i lack motivation to do all the other "important" worldly stuff. Even an LSD trip, which i love, keeps me happy for 2-3 weeks afterward, and the enjoyment is relative to the time i haven't been doing that specific drug. That time 2 years ago i did Acid after 7 years of "not doing Acid", and it was amazing, same happened to me with MDMA. Only after recently moving, i was able to do the same with Opiates a few times. Many reasons made me not freak out too much after those slip-ups, most importantly is my strong and sincere desire to never go back to any addiction and to stay cleanish. The crazy high price around here is also a major factor that i'm loving for my own sake.
Damn...sorry for rambling, i had just took my dose and this writing is all Subutex-inspired.
Loving that my headaches are gone, i will never ever take Suboxone again! Thanx but no thanx.
Just located an amazing thread about drug movies with the links and all...last night I watched an interesting documentary about 5 junkies in San Fran, and the Tenderloin. So glad that i'v never even considered using the needle since i hate them and I was 1 of 2 who snorted vs. all long time users who switched to the needle for convincing reasons (for them) . The last few years with the crazy ass tolerance, I needed so much money to snort my H, 4 or 5 times more than my old school users buddies needed to inject their H. Here i go again, o.k enough, have a good day everyone and sorry again for the ranting....only 1 mg :)

james, Please don't derail the suboxone mega thread.

We can talk about you tapering with buprenorphine in this thread, but there are better threads for tapering off of full agonist opiates

Do you mean 2-3 mg is a huge dose? or do you think he did the whole 8mg pill?!

2 to 3mg is a huge dose for someone with no tolerance.

I think JamesBrown posted here because it's a little more of a personal community thread with people that know a bit of history about him and that he maybe trusts for advice more than others he hasn't interacted with yet on bluelight. I can definitely understand this.

In other news, I am down to .5 a day, sometimes every other day and am now getting some stronger meds for those days when I have really bad pain. I just had to go into the pain doctor, bitch her out, threaten to fire her, and somehow she realized that, oh, you actually are in pain. Anyways, I don't get doctors, doubt I ever will, but I'm glad to be on Suboxone for my daily med (Daily bread?) and feel so much less anxious knowing that if I have a really bad day, there is something I can do about it now.

Anyways I hope everyone is doing well, and that the two recently injured members of this board (JamesBrown and Captain H) continue to get better.

I understand the motivation but my impetus for making that comment came more so from the context of repeatedly talking with people who post suboxone threads outside of here because they can't find the information they want without spending 90 minutes sifting through the lengthy, personal, off-topic discussion in here.

I can understand having a place for that but it becomes problematic when it impedes the original purpose of this thread- having a singular location for people to find information on and ask questions about the use of buprenorphine.

It took me the better part of a year to get over PAWS and then taper down on buprenorphine.

Thank you! It is difficult for me to go to sleep and not wake up in pain, so I am trying to sleep as little as possible.

I have temporarily raised my dose to 0.1 mg per dose; I have been getting better pain relief this way.

Following days after using recreationally i have quite sore sides (maybe mild kidney pain) and also got a bit of urinary retention whilst on the sub? i guess 2-3mg was a bit too much although i didnt vomit once, just feel a bit ill and achey since then. Is this normal from overdoing it on opiates?

Maybe, I haven't overdone it in a while. Urinary retention is common on most opiates. I think feeling aches is normal too from what I remember about recreational use of opiates in general.

You're probably rattling right now. Having w/d symptoms after using opiates is normal.

You remind me of this guy I knew, he said he was using heroin off and on for days, then one day he fell 'ill'. His buddy said, you're rattling mate, and he did not know what that meant. So, he goes, here, try this. And gave him a line. That sorted the guy straight out! The guy was all like, OH! I'M ADDICT!?

I remember by the 3rd year of doing H when it became like a few days a week, and the concept of addiction was still not even there in our heads, "we are smart users, we don't shoot" funny, haha, and we'd look at others who were already serious junkies and say "we're not like them and we know what we're doing". One of those days, i went down from my car to meet our 1st serious dealer, who od'd a few years later, and my body was aching and he could see it and said "you're tired huh!" with a wicked smile, like he's internally happy having us join the club, mo.fo! I was still 25 and have played sports for all my life and took care of my general health even with my drugs intake since i was 18. Back to that same day, a younger cousin was with us (buddy and I) in the car and as soon after scoring , i parked the car and asked him to drive so i can "make" us a few lines (only a short time later i could do it all while driving) he looked at me and said with a surprise: "the house is 5 mns. away", which was true, but i was looking for that comfort since i was aching for real, i remember my lower back, oh man! This memory hit me when i read the above post, I was beginning to understand what withdrawals and dependence were and why Heroin has been the only drug i haven't done till i was 22, knowing that i have always LOVED any altered state.
Once again, sorry for getting this out in here, but again , i just dosed my lovely Subutex and felt nostalgic and chatty. Addiction is the worst, you're barely alive. When i see a 16 yr olds opening threads to ask where to get needles from, it kind of break my heart a little...if they only knew! I'm so glad Bupe is around now, it's really a wonder drug that if used properly, can do miracles.
Ok, enough, I will leave you with a quote from Metallica's Master Of Puppets:

Taste me you will see
More is all you need
You're dedicated to
How I'm killing you

Come crawling faster
Obey your master
Your life burns faster
Obey your master
Master
