I am about to have a child and have been researching life insurance lately. Just about every application I see asks the question:

"In the last three years have you been treated for opiate or any other drug/alcohol dependency."

Since I do have legitimate chronic pain and am now seeing a real pain management Dr. I'm hoping I can get my old sub doc to put me down as a pain patient.. might be too late though - plus he's a jerk.

Yeah. F*ck. There goes my affordable life insurance.
 
Facing a dilemma now, got the last few doses of my Subutex (3 mgs left), and to refill i need to cross the borders and go pick it up from any pharma in the US, of course getting their number first and send it to my NY doc, plus paying him the fee he asked for (not much, thank God)
Don't want to get the Suboxone again as for some reason it didn't feel the same, but it's the one available here in Canada. A trip to the borders is really worth it after all, since those 30 pills i can be picking up should be enough for the next 6 months! Waow! Bupes are the only
6-months-score ever in my life and you gotta love them for that :)
I'm a little bit confused here.....Are the Roxanne Subutex called Generic compared to the Reckitt ones? And if so, isn't the whole point of the generic to be cheaper?

A final question...Are Docs consulted in Canada when asking about an immigration case? Meaning that if i see a Doc here, will i be asked that same question "In the last three years have you been treated for opiate or any other drug/alcohol dependency." at some point throughout the filing process? And if i say yes or no, do they really go and check? I'm asking since I haven't been to a doc here yet, and don't know their current regulations concerning such issues, but definitely don't want to screw my future up for being misinformed.
I know these are 3 questions, but your help is highly appreciated since i need to take my decision SOON, plus i'm sure that many of you have the answers i'm looking for as usual, so thank you in advance for sharing this vital knowledge.

Identifying dose

Hey guys, I've been lurking on this board for about two years but have never had a question that I couldn't find by searching and never had an answer that hadn't been better answered by someone else so this is pretty much my first time posting, but I am incredibly grateful for the information provided here.

I have come across an orange octagonal suboxone tablet, but it has been briefly exposed to some water, just enough to erode the "N8" or "N2" inscription. Thus I cannot quantify the strength of the tablet. I had some of the larger 8mg tablets some time ago and thought I remembered them being rather large, whereas this one is by no means huge. But after looking on the net at some pictures I'm doubting my first gut instinct. The diameter is around 5.5/16ths of an inch (.345 inches) or .9 centimeters. If I place it on a quarter, it is just big enough to cover almost all of George Washington's head. Would those of you who regularly come into contact with either the 2mg or 8mg tabs be able to help determine the identity of this one? Many thanks and all the best! :)

when i put an 8mg sub on a quarter it is just enough to cover his head, maybe a tiny bit less......so you probably have an 8, allthough I dont think this is a very accurate way of measuring a pill.

Im sure there a descriptions of pill size somewhere but I dont know where and I just happen to be in a hell of a lot of pain so I really dont feel like looking for it. Maybe try google. If that dont work I woudl actually reccommend you to PM Captain.Heroin who is a mod so you can PM him. I think he knows where the specs are on suboxone pills so you can measure it accurately and figure it out for sure.
or else you could just go by my washingtons head judgement call.

Haha you may be right, probably not the most accurate. Then again, when I look at pics of 8s next to 2s online, the 8s appear to be 3x to 4x the size of 2s, so given that big of a size difference, it seems really unlikely that I would have a 2 that just fits over his head and you would have an 8 that just fits over his head. That would also mean that the 2s are damn small, like tic-tac sized, because like I said what I have isn't huge. I found a pic of an 8 next to a metric ruler that showed it to be just about 1cm, but all I had was an inch ruler so after a bunch of messy conversions my measurements did bear out to be very close to that, at .9cm. Then again this is not an area where I like to make decisions based on being 80% sure, because using an 8mg sub all at once would definitely be way way more than I would need in one sitting, so I'll see about PMing the good captain later. Thanks for that advice and thanks for addressing my question even when you're in pain dude, that's hella considerate of you.
 
IME the 2mg tabs ARE really small, similar in size to a tic tac (slightly bigger). The pills we ge in Australia are white (both 2mg and 8mg) but are otherwise identical to the orange ones that are in North America.

I'd say it's very likely you've got an 8mg pill but can't give you a definite answer without seeing it. If you can upload a picture of it next to a ruler or quarter (for size comparison) I could probably give you a definite answer. Still, around 90% sure you've got an 8mg there.
 
^I don't have the technology on hand to upload a pic but I can tell you it's exactly 1 centimeter in diameter, either way since's it's completely symmetrical. But yeah I'm feeling pretty confident that it is an 8. My dose would be about 2 or 2.5 mgs so I'm in a pretty safe situation: If I dose a quarter of it and wait an hour or hour fifteen, I will either get high or feel threshold effects, and in the latter case I'll just use the other 3/4ths as that'll mean I'm dealing with a 2mg pill. Thanks for the input on size though, seems likely that it's an 8.

On another note, since this is the official thread, whenever I have snorted a sub in the past it has taken around 40 or 45 minutes before the very first onset of it, whereas with every other opioid I know of the onset is more like 5-15 minutes. Is this caused by the initial competition between naloxone and bupe? Or is there some other cause that you guys are aware of? Or am I just weird and you all feel it within 10 minutes?
 
when takin SL bupe takes two hours to reach peak plasma levels.....

i have always got high right away with snorting it......peak in about ten min........

i dunno whats going on with you

Same - when snorted it's hit me within 20 mins max. It might peak a little bit later but I would always feel it within about 20 and I have a slow metabolism. I used to dose about 20 mins before work started in the morning and 20 mins before my lunch break and I would always feel it within that time frame.

Maybe you have an ultra slow metabolism or there's some sort of negative placebo effect going on?

Re the 8mg pill: good idea about taking a quarter of it and seeing what happens. The fact that you can easily split it into quarters also tends to suggest it's an 8. 2mg pills are small enough that it's pretty difficult to split into quarters.

Quick question: I've been sneezing a lot and have a bit of the sniffles over the last couple of days. Is it likely that this is a lingering effect of withdrawal or just a mild cold? Probably just the hyponcondriac in me talking...

^ you want the white subs because they have no color? im lucky...those are the ones i get...and they come individually in blister packs aswell.....

Come on man, we've exchanged about 50 posts in the past couple of weeks - you should know the answers to these questions! ;) j/k I kicked bupe completely a bit over 2 weeks ago (16 days clean) after tapering down to 1mg fairly rapidly.

It's definitely not cold season in Melbourne ~30 celcius here today. Hot as fuck!

Maybe white Subs are preferred due to the lack of orange dye, which is one extra thing you don't want to be shooting into your arm?

@ CH - some of the HR policies in Oz are defnitely pretty progressive. You can walk into virtually any pharmacy and buy a bunch of needles for $5 and filters for a few bucks. As you mentioend, there are also locations inner city where you can exchange used needles for new ones but these are mainly in Sydney. Sydney also has 'shooting galleries' which are 24/7 medically supervised rooms for you to shoot up in. If you fall out, you'll be hit with the narcan straight away. They estimate thousands of lives saved. Of course, all of this is HIGHLY controversial politically but it's been around for years now.

but yes....this sounds like minor WD symptoms....bupe can take an extremely long time to fully detox.....

its winter here....cold season here.....my bad yet again

I hate the cold, which is why it would be awesome to live in Australia half of the year, and then the US the other half, so you're always living in the summer.

As a psychology major, I could envision therapeutic reasons for doing this; especially if you have seasonal depression.

^ i actually have a friend that does this....he is a mc / hiphop / musician here in vancouver.....he busk's in the streets.....well hes been going back and forth like that for several years now....his life has changed for the better....and he is one of the happiest people i know.....

i would love to just go for a month or two :)

and also, i waited 6 days after my last relapse.....i did not leave an UA, and tonight i am using again....just two points....half smoked and half shot.....really hoping they dont call me, id fail, lose take homes....my folks would find out because they are paying for my meds. so the price would triple, and they would fuck me over in some fashion...

CH: An endless summer would definitely be living the dream, particularly if you suffer from SAD (most approprate acronym ever!). Only problem is that 'hard' drugs aren't particularly cheap here. On the other hand, health care is free so I'm sure it would balance out.
