Smoking pot rolled in blunt wraps while pregnant

I see people here want links and/or question the validity of a 'Jamaican study'. Well if you're saying 'oh yeah, like a Jamaican study is any good', then maybe it will please you to know the study was conducted by an American female? It has also spanned 30 years, by the way.

There are also studies from Australia, the Netherlands, and more, in my link from norml below.

So, I say screw what any of us say. Read/watch these and decide for yourself:

LOL yeah im pretty sure tobacco has been shown to be harmful, so she should stop those blunt wraps most def. If it was my girl i wouldnt even want to let her smoke, who knows maybe pot doesnt have any negative effects, but do you really wanna risk it? I mean 9 months shit ill quit for that long too if she wanted. Think about the kid, rather not risk it ya feel me?

Damn, people really don't tend to think of Marijuana as the healing plant that it is, huh? :(

No no no you silly shit, you DO quit smoking because smoke is bad as well, the mothers oxygen suppy is what supplies the baby dummy, when she inhales smoke so does the baby, you need to learn the reality of it

Well, there doesn't seem to be any solid evidence to support that fact, particularly with cannabis smoke.

Its a personal choice. In my opinion i wouldn't use a blunt wrap. Its up to you guys to be responsible and make your own choices. That should be understood in this situation.

if your could explain with sources how it heals people, i would start thinking of it as a 'healing plant'. until then, inhaling smoke filled with psychoactive chemicals hardly seems like it could produce a positive result in a developing baby/fetus.

when it involves the well-being of others, specially children, im hardly one to take risks, and even less when it came to my own child.

I can't see it affecting the baby very much, my mother smoked tons of pot and cigarettes while pregnent with me. You might have a pot head kid but I don't see that being a problem.

I find that your posts are either impressive or disappointing. This is disappointing.

harm fucking reduction.

If you have to ask, you probably shouldn't do it. And it's not about having a 'pot-head child', it's about altering it's mental fucking chemistry early in the childs development; yeah, a child may seem just fine despite the mothers habits, but you don't know what that child might be like if the mother had abstained.

I personally think that Marijuana is probably not terrible for prenatals but that doesn't mean it's a good idea to try; the risks are impossible to gauge at this point.

So you didn't read my links or watch my video.

watched the google video, but even she said herself that the "results have been very inconclusive, often been contradictory.."

im not saying that i know for a fact that it can be harmful, but there is a possibility that it could be. a risk that i do not see as being worth it for a luxury.

OP has trolled us all I feel. Those Jamaican studies are interesting, but why risk it?

It takes more than a single study to prove the validity of something usually. Even if it was a thirty year study.

There is more than one.

http://norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=8060 :

Writing in their 1997 book Marijuana Myths, Marijuana Facts: A Review of the Scientific Evidence (The Lindesmith Center), Drs. John P. Morgan and Lynn Zimmer assert, "Marijuana has no reliable impact on birth size, length of gestation ... or the occurrence of physical abnormalities" among infants. Large-scale surveys appear to back up their conclusion.

A 2002 survey of 12,060 British women did not demonstrate significant differences in growth among newborns exposed to cannabis in utero versus those with no exposure, when controlling for co-founding factors such as the mothers' age, pre-pregnancy weight, and the self-reported use of tobacco, alcohol, caffeine, and other illicit drugs. A 1999 survey of 12,885 Dutch mothers reported similar findings after controlling for maternal tobacco use. "The use of cannabis is not a major prognostic factor regarding the outcome of pregnancy," the authors concluded. A 1997 Australian study of 32,483 mothers also reported, "There is inadequate evidence that cannabis, at the amount typically consumed by pregnant women, causes low birth weight." Most recently, a large-scale case-control study published in the journal Pediatric and Perinatal Epidemiology determined that mothers who reported using cannabis during pregnancy suffered no increased risk of bearing children with acute myeloid leukemia, a cancer known to strike adolescents under age 15.

For the love of humanity, please have an abortion. You and your girlfriend are too stupid to breed. Not only has she already harmed the child's health but I cannot believe you are too stupid to realize that blunt wraps are made of tobacco!! Are you guys from Greenland or something? Do you not know what tobacco is? Blunt wraps are just as bad as cigarettes, if not worse. Even funnier is how casual you are about it, not knowing the damage that has already been done to your child. If you don't get an abortion, I hope your child gets taken away faster than you close your slack-jaw.

LOL at all the people in this thread who say it's okay to smoke weed while pregnant. Thank god you are not my father.

word. Lets roll the fucking dice with a kids life, health, and future because mom likes to get high. Oh wait i forgot weeds a miracle, not a drug. It couldnt possible have any side effects on a growing fetus.

:|

youre retarded. Whatever the mother takes in the baby gets too. And do you think theres a difference between weed smoke and other smoke?? Like somehow her bodys gonna let tobacco smoke get to the baby but screen out weed smoke or something. Come on guys.

kid might have relly bad adhd or somthing . smoking or drinking is harmful to an unborn comon your relly asking , or are u venting cause i could understand if u just wanted to talk about this consern of yours .....the kid urs i forgot? do u agree ?

they didnt ask to be talked down by some uppity douche.
they want advice, not bitchery.
this thread is full of people who dont know shit but act like they do.
the fact is, no proper research has been done on this.
until proper, extensive research has been done,
HAULD YER WEESHT!

Common sense.
No offense, but if one posts a thread such as this one, how in the world would one expect GOOD replies? Of course people will be upset upon reading this thread! The majority of humans would be VERY against drug use such as the situation posted by the OP! 8)

Are you serious? Just because it's a medicine doesn't mean it's safe to use during pregnancy. Fuck, cocaine, meth and heroin are medicines.

OP, I think you'd have to pretty fucking confident that smoking cannabis while pregnant would cause no damage to your child to make it an acceptable risk. Given how little we know, I don't think anyone can be that confident.

EDIT: I meant "Fuck! cocaine meth, and heroin are medicines". I am aware that fuck is not a medicine.

Oh man, this is a nasty little subject here.

Personally, I don't think a woman should smoke while pregnant.

...but my mother smoked pot and used other drugs(such as alprazolam and cocaine) while she was pregnant with me and I turned out okay.

...I have had quite the problem with drug abuse, though.

That's because addiction is genetic.

To those going crazy over me suggesting it's OK to smoke weed during pregnancy... deal with it, marijuana is a healing drug and it won't have any negative effects on the baby. I think it's funny that with several thorough studies throughout several years you guys can still say 'we don't know enough'. Yes we do know enough, there are studies comprising of thousands of women and pregnancies and none yet have had a problem due to marijuana smoke. Plain and simple.

Quit butting into other peoples' private lives. Let the pregnant women smoke marijuana in peace.
