Smoking pot rolled in blunt wraps while pregnant

So my girlfriend stopped smoking cigarettes about two weeks after finding out she was pregnant. When she found out she was pregnant she stopped smoking pot. We had a little rough patch (We weren't on good terms for about a month). But after mending things with her we are hanging out and she tells me she's been smoking pot. Now that wasn't really too alarming but I didn't really think it was a great idea. I don't want to debate if you can smoke pot while your pregnant my question is she thought that the blunt wraps (like royal blunt wraps and the zig zag ones) were made from some sort of plant material like I have no idea what she thought it was like cellulose or something. So after researching I come to find out that the blunt wraps are made into paper from tobacco pulp. I assume my girlfriend is at risk but I'm not really sure what are your guys thoughts?
 
Yes blunt wraps are made from tobacco so they definitely do contain nicotine. I do not know if weed is bad during pregnancy but i think she should atleast switch to a pipe or bong. Good Luck!<3
 
She shouldn't smoke anything! Smoking pot without tobacco is unhealthy too!! So it will harm the unborn child.

If she really needs to be high (is addicted) than she should eat the stuff. But i dunno if this is harmful for the unborn.
 
I believe you can smoke weed while you are pregnant; but only do it through a Vaporizer....
So that way all your getting is the weed... no paper,nicotine or whatever else chemicals they have on them.....

I believe we had a debate on bluelight about this matter before... to lazy to look tho...
 
nonononononono. Don't screw up a childs life because you can't break from weed for nine months. Not much research or evidence has been done but from what articles I have read weed during pregnancy can hamper the growth of a child and fuck up their nervous system.
If you can't wean yourself off of drugs then don't get pregnant until you can. This is a terrible idea, try to make your girlfriend stop at all costs.

Dont do anything while your pregnant, not even a frickin tylenol. I just hate to hear that. So many women cant even get pregnant that want to have a child. You have no idea if smoking will have a long term effect on your childs life. You were blessed with a pregnancy. Dont do shit like that to put you child at jepordy. Its not his / her fault that you got pregnant. Im sorry to come off so strong but i really think this is wrong. Nine months of your life, your not making a sacrafice your being giving an amazing gift the gift of life. Dont fuck that up.

I'm no doctor but from what i understand is that you shouldn't consume any types of drugs when pregnant.

I wouldn't even vaporize it or eat it, also see a real doctor and ask him.
 
I can't see it affecting the baby very much, my mother smoked tons of pot and cigarettes while pregnent with me. You might have a pot head kid but I don't see that being a problem.
 
Have her stop smoking pot immediately. Not passing judgement, but have a Substance Exposed Infant is a great way to have your child removed by Social Services. Many hospitals check a childs meconium (poop) and or the mother for the presence of drugs. If they are present, they are legally obligated to report it to the authorities. Furthermore, once you are flagged (and you as the father will be included) it will follow you for the rest of your life.

It is not okay to consume substances while pregnant, except under the orders of a doctor.
 
I think you may be able to smoke a little without harming the child, but I would probably think its best to not do any drugs at all, tell her to try to smoke as little as she can, none if possible.

This is purely anecdotal. Yes you may be fine but, that really doesn't mean everyone will be.

The last time we had this argument I think we really came to the realization that no one really know what will happen when pregnant women smoke weed. At least that's what I got out of it. Personally I just wouldn't risk my child on something that isn't really proven one way or the other.

As far as tobacco use it's definitely proven to be detrimental to an unborn child and yes blunt wraps are tobacco. I sincerely hope that she has nothing to regret because of what she is doing.
 
if youre gonna smoke weed while pregnant, its gonna fuck with the baby regardless of whether or not its in a blunt. Dont smoke.
 
best case: she shouldn't smoke anything.

accepting reality: she DEFINITELY shouldn't smoke blunts.

no need for all these crazy replies,
but try to limit her to 1-3 little smokes per 2 weeks.

The possibility of having your infant child removed from you after birth is pretty serious and traumatic for both the parents and the baby.

because I think smoking any pot at all could have an adverse effect on the baby,we just don't know. As it has been stated earlier not a lot of research has been done on this; but it is better to be safe than sorry.
 
For the love of humanity, please have an abortion. You and your girlfriend are too stupid to breed. Not only has she already harmed the child's health but I cannot believe you are too stupid to realize that blunt wraps are made of tobacco!! Are you guys from Greenland or something? Do you not know what tobacco is? Blunt wraps are just as bad as cigarettes, if not worse. Even funnier is how casual you are about it, not knowing the damage that has already been done to your child. If you don't get an abortion, I hope your child gets taken away faster than you close your slack-jaw.

LOL at all the people in this thread who say it's okay to smoke weed while pregnant. Thank god you are not my father.
