Woo it's getting warmer up here in QLD all we need now is some good rain and I can go shroom hunting again... Can't wait!

Was just thinking that...

Managed to find a few subs on the weekend, they're big and old with no pins around them so definately last of the season.

Good luck with the northern season guys.

Would be good to get more info/pics from cubensis hunters this season

The thread seems to have gone quiet. Is it because everybody around the SE Qld corner is busy picking. If not, wakey wakey, there just starting to appear might be a good time to check your favourite spots

Ive never had shrooms, or even thought about it. Thats not to say I wouldn't, they sound fckin awesome! But after reading this thread, I find it amazing that I could find free drugs growing in my local park!! :O

So SEQ seasons just starting? How long will it last do you think?

I wouldn't be surprised if there were still dregs about in Victoria. I've seen some large non-actives still growing about the place.

how long the season lasts depends on the weather. Got some smallish ones early last week, still waiting on some more rain, that they keep promising is on the way, so I can get some more. Maybe a dance might help

WOOT!!! Going picking tomorrow morning (First attempt that isn't a stab in the dark :P), have had mates that got some last week, so pretty pumped.

I just wanted to know, any tips for a first time hunter, and what should one take when they go picking :)

-Brown paper bags
-Sharp scissors

This is what ive been told, any more?

(P.S - I've done my research, so no 'omg noob picker gunna die' pleeease)

plenty of enthusiasm always helps. Also I like to go early morning before sun up, so I take a torch. I usually can't wait till I get home so I give a couple of the better ones a wipe over with a cloth then cover with some honey (I carry a small jar just in case) to make them taste better and munch on them while I look for more. Makes for an interesting ride home on the bike too.

No, didnt end up going. A massive storm hit around 2ish :'(

Planning on trying again tomorrow maybe..see how the weather is

*EDIT*

Just got home from a hunt this morning, found some but not what i was expecting..thick'ish stalks, large bell tops, dark brown & shiny, which opened flat and almost all open ones where 'cracked' around the edges, Also had white gills...

little bit suss on them so gunna hold out..

Has anyone had shrooms with white gills before? I thought they where mostly brown on subs

don't take any mushies you are unsure of. Did the stalks turn blue? Check sites like the shroomery for more info before you take them

Word on dah street is that SEQ season is kicking up well. Mates came back from a certain well known town in very SEQ to NE NSW with some really good shrooms. They are up there again today for work and promised to bring us poor Sydney kids back some Queensland entertainment :D.

Those are our mushrooms, get your own! ;)

after all the rain there are mushies everywhere at the moment. I wish all drugs were free like mushies, I nice feel good trip and all it costs is a walk through the paddocks

SE Qld. Obviously I can't give specific location details as it breaches guidelines but anywhere along the NSW/ Qld border not too far from the coast is where I find them in good quantities. Remember to respect farmers properties and go under fences rather than over them, shut gates if you have to open them and don't leave rubbish behind. I have been searching these paddocks for over 20 years and haven't had any problems with the farmers yet
